I know they’re basically all the same, but MyStreams wouldn’t let me log in over data. Web viewer works on the firetv, so at least I got that. Maybe it’s jist a rough few weeks.

I have 3 people and 4 TV's with YouTube TV/Roku and dont go over the 1TB cap. Have come within 20 GB before tho. Wife fell asleep with YouTube TV on and it almost made us go over. Never used Directv Now so dont know if it makes a difference but hasn't been an issue really with YouTube TV.

Reminds me, I set my timer thresholds on pretty low on everything so they auto shutdown. I’m the guilty party when it comes to sleeping with the TV on. I’m not worried about a limit but I’m “Turn the lights off guy.” which is why I did that. Also, have an antenna, which I prefer when watching sports.

Added my pops to my YoutubeTV family so he can use it. He gets to watch sports and other stuff on his laptop or iPad while my mom watches whatever on the tv with their cable. He is very thankful

Called and canceled Dish today. I gave YouTube TV a test run this week and loved it.

That'll be at least $80/month savings. I'll take that.

I've had a 24 month contract 36 month locked in price with Dish for $110/month. I've been out of contract for almost a year. My price was going to go up $25 a month after January so I guess about $135. I've had a good price but that was ending in January. Great time to get out imo.
They offered me $58/month x 3 months and I said  naw. Bye.

I switched to Hulu Live about 3 weeks ago and love it.

I have ATT internet and haven’t looked to see if there is a data cap. That never crossed my mind. I fall asleep with TV son regularly

Ignore the content, that isn't the point, I'm not advocating anyone watch Fox News.

This is a good step moving forward to a la carte model. From the Hustle.

Fox Nation is a streaming service for Fox fanatics, but it won’t out-stream Netflix
Yesterday, Fox News launched a subscription streaming service called Fox Nation designed to deliver hundreds of hours of exclusive extra content to Fox superfans for $5.99/month.

As tech giants and cable companies fight over the future of TV, Fox is the latest of several networks (HBO, Showtime, CBS) to create its own stand-alone streaming service -- and it faces the same upstream battle to beat big bundlers.

To bundle or not to bundle, that is the question
Streaming services (Netflix, Amazon Prime Video) provide on-demand content, skinny bundles (Hulu, Sling, Youtube TV, DirecTV Now) offer a mix of on-demand content and live network TV channels, and stand-alones (HBO, CBS, and now Fox) offer content from 1 network.

No single option will win: But since streaming giants have billions of dollars to make original content and skinny bundles benefit from cable’s variety, stand-alone networks need fanatical audiences just to survive...

    Thankfully, Fox fans are die-hards
“We have fans,” Fox executive John Finley told The New York Times. “Other news organizations simply have viewers.”

Although Fox has a median viewer age of 65, the network has been the most-watched cable network for 26 consecutive months, and its committed fan base is growing among younger viewers.

Other network-specific streaming apps like CBS All Access and HBO Now failed to make a big revenue impact for their parent networks after their launch. But, unlike other channels, Fox is pitching its new service as a source of complementary content for its “superfans.”

    An extra, not an alternative
Fox’s new streaming service will allow Fox fans to spend even more (exclusive) time watching Tomi Lahren and other popular Fox figures.

While the popularity of Netflix and Hulu has continued growing rapidly, network-specific streaming apps will likely continue to make modest revenue contributions to their parent networks.

For now, Fox will make sure its extra content will end by 7pm every night -- in time for its cable heavyweights like Sean Hannity. But since 60% of young viewers only watch streaming TV, using Fox Nation to keep superfans jazzed is a band-aid solution, not a long-term Netflix-fix.

Fuck DirecTV Now. Went out about 15 minutes ago. A Twitter search confirms it's a widespread issue. What a horrible product for many reasons. Wish YouTube TV were in my area.

Do the streaming providers vary on how far behind the live-action feeds are? DirecTV Now is usually behind by about 10 seconds of real-time action. The game I'm currently watching, though, is a good 25 seconds behind. I'm wondering if PS Vue, YTTV, and the others are just as bad. I know you must accept a delay since the services must encode the information, but being behind a half-minute is pretty darn bad.

No idea. I've never had an issue but don't really know why I would care if something was 10 seconds behind or 25 seconds behind. As long as its not some crazy amount, like over a minute or something I doubt I would notice.

It would be fine if I weren't someone who likes to check box scores and scores in general during games. It's not as bad for football, but a lot of action can happen in 10 to 30 seconds of basketball.

Not familiar with that but if it means you have to continuously open different apps just to "change the channel" then that gets real old, real fast imo.

As the others stated....YTTV is the preferred choice amongst the majority of TMBers (including myself) but it's not available everywhere yet so you'll have to check that.

If you can't do YTTV then you'll want to look into the myriad of other options, which are Sling, PSVue, Direct TV Now, Hulu TV, fubo TV, etc...

First question is do either of you have Sprint cell service?

If either of you have Sprint, you get Hulu for free. I think Att gets HBO. Not sure about the other.

So I called a few months ago and she asked me "Why are you on this old plan?" I explained I had just never needed to change it. She asked me if she could look at a new plan, and immediately I got skeptical hippo. She says "I can give you a 10Gig HotSpot, same unlimited minutes and data, and free Hulu and your rate drops $15 a month.

So now my spidey sense is up and i start grilling her on whats the catch. I start googling trying to find out how they are fucking me. After 10 minutes I gave up as I couldn't find the catch. I have had it 6 months now and no issues. No new pricing, nothing. You might call and see if you can check on a better rate. I did and it was easy and awesome.

Oh and last month they just bumped the hotspot to 50 gigs. No clue why.

Showtime I is like $7 bucks a month I believe as an addon. They are adding more packages everytime I turn around. MLB, NBA, etc.

It has had a few hiccups, it went out during a game of the world cup (I was at a bar so I had no idea), and the app on the Xbox can crash on me about once a week. Other than that, its been great. The UI of YTTB blows everything else out of the water. Direct TV Now has made huge improvements, but its still not as good as YTTB.

  44. M3

M3 I have a dossier on all of you

What are you ppl doing? I'm currently using GearsTv, 3 connections for $30 a month. I also pay for Mayfair Guide Pro. It gives you a TV guide like you have with direct TV for your IPTV. It all comes to like $33 a month and I get free PPV. GearsTV doesn't buffer like Vader Streams either. I get NFL Sunday Ticket and red zone, the MLB and NHL package and NBA league pass.

Edit: And you get 50+ city choices for each major network channel so you can always find your game.

This thread is probably going to say YouTube because that’s the majority. I am still Vue and 100% happy with it. I got in before YT was possible here, have a few PS4’s and fire sticks so I’ll probably hang around on here for a while.
