The SI article (actually, mike bianchi in the sentinel) was in response to all of the articles saying wtf-no-one-likes-these. You can google them if you'd like, especially if it'd give you something to do other than hang out in a UCF thread all day.
I’m looking for the major media outlets that think Stricklin purposely ducked UCF. Can you share them here? Thanks.
N ffs, it's not about "ducking" its about the committee missing the obvious matchups. https://www.sbnation.com/college-fo...6/peach-fiesta-bowls-florida-michigan-ucf-lsu That then causes everyone to ask why they missed the obvious matchups Which leads to people like bianchi writing articles saying it was protocol (according to the peach bowl reps that spoke to marc daniels radio show some time back, it's actually not -- that appears to be some.. let's call it, "miscommunication") But as you've pointed out, Stricklin's only influential if he's in the room, so I'm sure they just all felt everyone wants to see Michigan/UF again.
You’ve posted here multiple times about Stricklin influencing the bowls in a way to not pair UF and UCF. Have you not? Dan Wolken is an idiot, but even he posted this after the tweet you shared. The fact of the matter is that UCF couldn’t go to the Peach two years in a row. There was no ducking. It’s unfortunate we couldn’t play each other. Trust me, we all wanted it. But the Committee wasn’t going to send both of us to Arizona. That’s just nonsensical.
I have, sure. That's what I think. Shockingly though, Bianchi isn't writing articles defending Stricklin based on my opinion. And again, UCF employees have it on authority directly from the peach bowl themselves that the two year in a row thing isn't actually a thing. Maybe the committee felt otherwise on their own. Or maybe occam's razor is still a thing. The only thing we know for certain is that you'll reply over and over and over again like some sort of out of work internet seal.
Lol at citing Bianchi as some sort of arbiter of truth. He’s a troll who says things to get clicks, particularly from homers like you.
Jesus christ. Bianchi is defending UF. You should hope he's the arbiter of truth on this. Probably time I figure out how the ignore feature works.
It doesn’t matter what side of things Bianchi is on - it’s the wrong side. He’s the Skip Bayless of Florida sports print journalism.
Bianchi really is a whiny bitch and he fits in perfectly with local radio assclowns like Shot Doctor and Jerry O'Neil. Plus he's a terrible writer. I don't always agree with Marc Daniels but Marc is thoughtful, educated and his opinions aren't fed by populism. The others try too hard to be liked.
Shot Doctor is still around and just as lame as ever. Bianchi is basically master of the “hot take” - a long form twitter troll of sorts. Marc actually takes his job seriously and does his homework, but he’s an employee of UCF now. He’s upfront about his bias though so whatevs. Good radio usually.
They paired shot dr and jerry O’Neil in the afternoons again like a year ago and it’s pretty cringy. Daniels is usually pretty good, it was better when he had Jerry Green though. That dude was a weirdo. It used to be that I couldn’t stand bianchi but once I realized he is basically just an internet troll without the internet, it got much more tolerable. His show is still better than the ESPN morning show and I only have to listen to it for a short time while I’m driving to work
section 232 row 2 seat 10. look ucf benifited nothing from playing uf or lsu . other than always needed cash . like 6.5 mill or 7 ? now it,s real easy to see we ( us ) tried to fix a cfb system that was not broke . and are failing real bad . last year you had 1 team ucf , this year you have 4 . that should have been the final 4 . you know that so do I . now we( ucf fans ) have been going hard against the wall in a certain direction . great for a kickoff classic at the beginning of the year . rewards alabama and ucf fans . but does not solve the problem . most schools are about around 130years old , some older . ucf is growing up at 2/3 faster than those institutions . everyone with half a coconut knows that . there-fore . the new approach needs to be - - 2019 we deserve a power 5 conference only singular thing that eliminates a debate . ucf then is free to be the template for the future of educations and all things in-between . WE WANT A POWER 5 SLOT . p.s. ND joins the acc next year . u don,t think ucf does not bring in revenue for a top 5 conference slot ? well certainly ass much as some ? in every conference .
From Mandel's mailbag article this morning - I’ve just quite simply had enough of UCF. I’ve read lots of theories over the last two seasons about big teams avoiding them, etc., but why don’t they play harder teams? And don’t say bowl games! Why don’t they do something about it rather than looking like bratty teenagers who don’t get their way? Geoff M. UCF faces Stanford and Pitt next season, and North Carolina the year after that. The UNC game is part of a home-and-home it scheduled in August 2016 when the Tar Heels were coming off an 11-win season. So that should answer your question, but I have one of mine: Was it you or one of your family members who got rejected by UCF?
I swear to god these people are imbeciles. It’s like the schedule editor in madden ruined an entire generations ability to understand basic business.
Love how the guy's like "I know there are reasons they dont play harder teams, but why dont they play harder teams? Brats!"
I wonder how much oklahomas champ game win factored in to their pick as 4th vs. Ohio states? Only reason they added it was cuz committee said conference champ games matter one year. I feel like OU would still be 4th if they hadn't played Texas again.
All that to say there is literally no rhyme or reason to how they pick. It's all based off vagueness and how the committee feels. Which I think is pretty much provable now and would be lawsuit fodder.
Had Heup stayed at Missouri just a few more seasons I bet he would have been one of the hottest names around. Danny getting to him first sounds like it was a byproduct of his family being so damn connected.
the story in the Orlando sentinel bye Illiana limon Romero explains the fucked up shit Strickland was putting out on the knights . might want to ask jesse palmer. ecuse my language but ? any way you cut it things need to change . we ( ucf) does not have a exclusive on the peach bowl. nor is the peach bowl as high ranked as the fiesta . we are climbing . question is does ucf jump the aac or stay ?
Have to give props to Gary Parris, several years back, before he left and they tried out the different color guys with Marc, dude was painful to listen to. Seemed like he could barely put a sentence together, but now he's great on the color and narrating videos. Nice comeback
