You'll be fine. Just make sure you load up on fats. https://nypost.com/2018/03/19/heres-how-to-crush-a-race-by-running-on-a-keto-diet/ https://running.competitor.com/keto-diet-right-runners_173553 https://www.runnersworld.com/nutrit...8180/what-is-keto-diet-and-should-you-try-it/
Not that it really matters, but "light keto" isn't a ketogenic diet. It's just a reduced carb diet. To be "keto," the goal is ketosis.
Also, the single serving chicken bone broth are really helpful for this. They are satiating enough to curb a snack hunger and provide a lot of electrolytes and other minerals
Thinking of starting this. My only hang up is that i have high blood pressure. Im 30 and a couple years ago it was about 165, I have worked it down to about 125 with cardio and beta blockers, I just don't want it to go back up. I've never been too overweight, im 64 225 which is my heaviest, id just like to get down to around 200. Anybody monitor their blood pressure with this or have any insight about blood pressure specifically? Thanks for all the info dudes.
From my experience, it has a positive impact on blood pressure. Of course, that may be from losing weight.
got my blood ketone meter today cause i’m addicted. just did my first reading, 0.9. kind of disappointed, need to take this to the next level more fats less protein? am i over on carbs without realizing?
Did you plug in your info? https://calculo.io/keto-calculator Are you entering everything you eat & drink into a app to see your macros?
yeah for the most part, i need to be better. but usually what i don’t enter is the random cheese stick i’ll grab or how much coconut milk i actually used, stuff like that. i’m usually in the 14-19 range per day according to that
ps that meal was lettuce wrap tacos, so good. just cooked ground beef in a skillet with butter and a little bit of cream and sautéed some peppers in oil. threw some homemade queso on top with a little guac and sour cream
hadn’t seen that one yet, that’s awesome. going to try and follow those macros for the next week. mine were close but worth a shot
no idea man, probably a combination of things added in it runs in my family. i started working out, beta blockers, slowed down on drinking and it came down pretty quick. i've never been overweight but id still like to lose a few pounds I just have to monitor what this would do to my blood pressure.
I was 14 hours into my first intermittent fast, sitting in a meeting, when in they bring chicken alfredo, garlic bread, Italian cookies, and cake. Also, I have found some really helpful stuff on the Youtube group Keto Connect. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzRYivTpUQ0r2qPPjfLoQiA/videos?flow=grid&view=0&sort=p
I might be underthinking the fast thing. I just do coffee and water from wake up to lunch, eat lunch, mix in a few snacks (jerky, pork rinds, or veggies), eat dinner at 6pm. After 6pm drinks with a sugar free mixer and water. Rinse and repeat.
I wouldn't count your fast as starting until after the post-dinner drinks are done. At least I don't.
Yeah there are all kinds of thoughts out there. When I fast I do only water and black coffee. Some say the black coffee doesn't count but IDGAF about that, still works for me.
Also, once you get pretty far in ketone levels will decrease bc your body will stop over producing them
fuck no. Trying to lose weight, tell people “sorry I’m Keto,” and gain energy. No time for health concerns.
So I had 11.5 net carbs so far today. How bad is it if I have zero carbs for dinner but 10 carbs worth of red wine?
