Think Chad could make KBs skillset work the best. A lot of qb power and level concepts in the passing game.
Sucks. He’s not going to make or break our team but losing a guy like that to Mizzou when we had a previous relationship hurts. Just shows how far we have fallen and how far we have to get back up if possible at this point. The amount of damage Long and Bret did will take at least a decade to wash clean...
I really appreciate his bagman extending the bidding. I didn't spend the afternoon bummed out. Thanks bagman
So, let’s say 4 wins and then 6 wins in the next two years... what would chad have to win in his 4th year to keep his job? I would imagine even if he gets us to a bowl game by year three, he would still be on the hot seat to make something happen more than a 6-6 season...
Idk. We suck. Legitimately the worst team in the sec. Those still paying money probably would want 8-9 in year four?
He needs to win 6 by year three and 7 or more in year 4 when this incoming class is Jr's and he has completely turned the roster over. Just keep bringing in talent and the results will come. There are guys actively congratulating Nance for his commitment to Mizzou and talking about how poorly Bert was treated, etc. Shitbirds like Randy Ramsey were a big reason our locker room quit and they can't leave soon enough.
Please expound on that. Current hogs giving props to Nance? Who is saying Bert was mistreated? Not even Ned would say that(I don't think he would idk) Bert was treated well the entire time he was here and since he left. Nothing like the pos that is named Houston Dale Nutt *spit* Bert couldn't win close games and was given ample time to show he had learned and he didn't.
I know its tough to hear but if you are patient with Chad, I think yall will be satisfied with him. I think the instant success wasn't going to be there with how Bert recruited compared to what Chad needs to win. If we didnt already have Sammy, Charone, Hump, and Martavis coming in with Nuke already on campus along with Dwayne Allen and Tajh Boyd, we would have suffered some serious growing pains, and Im telling you that first game it was tough to think this was going to work. If by year 3 he isnt putting butts in seats, and putting points up and getting Ws then it just isnt going to work.
Dejon Harris announced he's coming back and appears Ryan Pulley is as well, so that's good I guess. Maybe we'll be slightly less terrible on D next season. Harris is good. Pulley is hit or miss. I think him and Calloway can be a good CB duo (Chevin is rejoining the program). We'll lose at least one more commit that is being recruited over (Myles Brooks to be replaced by Jalen Catalon) and Dante Walker is an academic risk but might do what it takes... but we'll sweat til the end.
Our biggest issue is getting guys to buy in. Some of our most talented players have done and said some really stupid shit and had to delete posts or been suspended as a result (OGrady tweeting "declare?" literally right after getting humiliated at Mizzou and getting suspended for being a shithead to start the year was my personal fav) Guys like Armon Watts bought in and had a big year and made himself some money this year. Agim is a dumbass still and continues to move into that overrated as fuck category. Talent is there for him. It's going to take some time. The roster is going to have to be completely flipped. We'll be halfway there with this class. I loved Bert and he was a players coach... but his guys don't mesh well at all with the current regime. It's going to require some patience with our fanbase. I'm hopeful we go with the youth route next year and let those young guys take those lumps and get better and get that experience, and by the time they are 2-3 year starters we should really start seeing some good results. Nothing matters until we fix the OL. Good news is we should land OT Trevor Roberson who is committed to Texas Tech. He's 6'11 355 for you Skipper fans out there. Should land the two JUCO OT visitors this weekend too who are decent. Our tackles are not tackles and all need to be processed or move inside
Since Chad took over, players that have left or been processed in the past year: TE Jack Kraus- gave up football DL Jake Hall- transferred to SMU LB Josh Paul- left team PK Cole Hedlund- transferred to North Texas TE Will Gragg- transferred to Pitt OL Zach Rogers- gave up football to become a police officer OL Jake Heinrich- medical hardship FS Reid Miller- transferred to Montana WR Kofi Boateng- medical hardship WR Maleek Barkley- transferred to Montana State CB Korey Hernandez- transferred to Iowa Western CC WR Brandon Martin- academic ineligibility OL Jalen Merrick- medical hardship OL Dylan Hays- medical hardship WR Jonathan Nance- grad transfer LB Kyrei Fisher- transfer CB Nate Dalton- left team after suspension WR Jarrod Barnes- transfer (likely to UCA) DB Derrick Munson- transfer TE Austin Cantrell- like Zach Rogers, moving on to next phase of his life Some shitty walk on LB I've never heard of QB Cole Kelley
Listen, I am not sure if Chad really had an OT at Clemson that was an actual OT. Phillip Price played LT for us and that dude was a walk on from a small private school in SC. OL play is always a big deal but his passing game is quick, its to the perimeter, he does a good job making up for a lack of Oline talent. If you can get a QB who can hit a screen pass and force the defense to be honest, he should win enough games to stay around long enough to at worse improve the talent level on campus. Now if Jeff Scott leaves we are coming for Justin Stepp
And we wonder why our OL is in such bad shape. Our headliner recruits the last 4 classes: 2014- Brian Wallace (highly recruited, literal dumbass), Frank Ragnow (amazing), Josh Allen (never played and just stopped playing football), Sebastian Tretola (was very good), Jovan Pruitt (didn't qualify) 2015- Jalen Merrick (never contributed due to migraines), Zach Rogers (quit early to become a cop when he would have started this year), Colton Jackson (yikes) 2016- Jake Heinrich (retired)- the rest were trash low 3 stars that never contributed. 2017- Dalton Wagner (injured for a good chunk of the year), Kirby Adcock and Shane Clenin We haven't had an SEC caliber OL since 2014
sounds like they're really high on adcock. signing 3 JUCO OL isn't exciting. those kids almost never work out.
I wonder if any Arkansas fan has ran into Bret or Jeff out in public like at a gas station or grocery store and just told them what a fucking clusterfuck of a mess they are and how horrible they are at their jobs. I would all be watching that video on youtube.
We'll save the hardo badass stuff for you I just noticed your tag line btw. Pretty low standards you have for yourself.
It’s kinda my thing. Our thing. We are, in fact, Arkansas fans. Our posting is about as good as our record...
oh yeah? You're bad. How about that, huh? Also, there is a poster over there who has said several times that the basketball team is going to win the natty *insert snark.gif.
98 points 20 seconds left and don't go for 100. My buff was pissed they didn't try WPS GHG beat Colorado St. at something yee ha
We are pretty salty right now. If Keyshawn Embery gets cooking off that bench and Phillips plays to the potential he's capable of, there's very little drop off with our bench. Jalen Harris is the best pure PG we've had in a long ass time, and Chaney and Bailey are staying within their roles and efficiently producing. Joe continues to shoot well and Gafford will get his. This team can do some things, let's keep getting better. Crazy to think this might be MA's deepest team here. It's amazing the difference a true PG makes. 5 straight at home before conference play starts. Let's go
I’m in Prosper, TX now so not sure. I know UT & TCU want him though. Saw him play several times this year & he destroyed everyone that went against him
Yea looking like the basketball teams playing well together and will be pretty salty. Long, athletic, couple streaky 3 pt shooters to loosen it up for gafford if everything’s clicking on the right night, that spells danger for a lot of teams but if we’re off we fucked. Properly.
No question this is our deepest, most complete, fastest, most selfless team Mike has had, or that we've had at all since the mid-90's. And they're all just a bunch of freshman and sophomores. If we could get Gafford to stay one more year (lol) to work on his mid-range shot we would be tits in 2019.
