I didn't think it was great initially but was willing to give it a chance. Then we got to the draft and I was full on what the fuck is going on
It's not the owner. He's just letting Gruden use him and everyone else as a scape goat. Grudens the captain of this ship and Mark Davis is just being a pushover pussy
I'm still thinking Gruden is following marching orders from Davis to cut the payroll significantly and bringing Chucky back was a way to get people to buy in on a bad roster. The Khalil Mack holdout just accelerated the timeline.
Honest question from Ark and all closely following raider fans: Who exactly on this team is worth keeping, and why?
KO, Hudson, Gabe Jackson, Carr, Jared cook, Jalen Richard, Lee Smith, Conley, Karl Joseph, Hurst, key, jelly, Erik Harris, marquel Lee, Nick Nelson, and Daryl Worley are the players I would keep moving forward which means like half of them will be gone
Looking at the Raiders conquest to finish clearing the books, Osemele is a goner and Derek Carr will be a Redskin by draft day.
I don't believe they want to get rid of Carr currently. But Gruden is an idiot with no actual convictions so that could change. He's not going to re-sign cook and they'll cut KO and take a guard in the second that should've been picked in the 8th
LMAO Raiders signed QB Nathan Peterman to their practice squad. While still working for ESPN, coach Jon Gruden called Peterman the most pro-ready quarterback in the 2017 draft class, one that also included Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson. Gruden thought Peterman should go "no lower than the second round." He went in the fifth and has been one of the worst quarterbacks in NFL history through his first two seasons.
Peterman must have fucking memorized that spider yz banana playcall gruden likes to even be considered for a roster spot
Skins don't have cap room. They are stuck owning Alex Smith a shit ton of money even if he never plays again
So by "Sent their scouts home" they mean they're just going to do the draft without their scouts? Because they are worried about leaks? I'm confused about what that means.
Yes. It sounds like Gruden and Mayock have determined that the scouts have provided their utility and now they are all hanging out at home.
Ah, yes, I too love to have my boss tell me to take the week off before and including the day that is literally the point of my job.
Has Mayock ever worked as a scout in or any role with an organization? That kind of sounds like some of the stories back in the day about Matt Millen in Detroit, and it's actually not really that hard to understand if they've never been through it before.
Doesn't sound out of the usual to me. They've done their job and they don't get to make the decisions.
I can see sending them home for a holiday weekend as something that makes a lot of sense. If they don't come back to the building or have any contact with the decision makers from Monday-Wednesday (or even at the draft, depending on how that tweet is supposed to be read), I can't believe that's normal around the league.
It's probably not normal for everyone no, but there isn't a single person who has worked with gruden that would be surprised he's calling every shot from here on out and doesn't care what anyone else thinks.
I don't know what team this was, but that set up was horrible. I feel sorry for those people retroactively.
and Arkadin is somewhat right, the number in those war rooms have went down the past ten years but generally the scouting staff would be there for draft day
Check the carpet.....either the Saints, or some team set-up in the shittiest conference room available at the Orleans Hotel in Vegas
Whispers to first guy: "We'll take Rogers." Whispers to next guy: "We'll take Roger." Whispers to next guy: "Don't take Roger." Whispers to next guy: "Roger." Commish: "With the next pick in the draft, the Saints select Roberts."
