Seriously though, how did the sec look inward to get more teams in the tourney? "Hey we should win more" so they did. How do we? We already cant lose.
The way the letters all fade in makes it look like Night Licks And that’s all I have to say about that
Being so successful in his first year at UCF, any worries about losing Heupel in the next year or so? What's his buyout?
He's stuck he until after the bowl game in 2020 or it's $10 million. Oklahoma wont be calling him home anytime soon.
Luckily Oklahoma is back in the playoff so no more star QB reunions for the time being. That said I think UCF has affected him emotionally.
Probably because he got shitcanned for sucking last time around. And lol at thinking anyone wants Randy Shannon.
Right, a redshirt sophmore, his third year of college, after next year he will be done with his fourth year and should have graduated.
I am sorry I revealed how the UF private board destroys you guys. I can see now how it comes off as arrogant and unnecessary to revel in that domination. My bad.
Not that I know of. Seems like we’re filling every available spot with linemen. Kinda related, someone posted this link in the dungeon re. average line sizes in fbs. Looks like a Heup intends to keep his advantage. https://www.ncaa.com/news/football/...top-25-reranked-average-offensive-line-weight
ATO stays raping, insane they are still on campus. https://www.orlandosentinel.com/fea...os-ne-ucf-rape-fraternity-20181206-story.html
Kinda insane any of them are still on campus tbh. They ought to just give all the houses to sororities and be done with it.
I wonder if the buyout is any higher. Between his buy out, a high-for-g5 salary and potential upside/equity for staying and building... we’ve at least got a chance.
I would think the buyout would be the driving factor from our side. Give him a raise sure, but also make sure that his price tag is up to his value if someone comes poaching Did I read it here or somewhere else that he also has a clause where he gets a cut of ticket sales. Seems like a smart incentive, i wonder if that is a common thing for coaching contracts
He got I believe 50% of new season ticket sales this year. With like 10k new ones he made a nice bonus there.
Yeah, he does and it’s not. We got a lot of pub around the contract for it being a creative way for G5’s to up the ante a little bit. I mean if OU wanted him there’s probably no way we could match, but it eliminates the run-of-the-mill programs while also being a strong incentive for him to be a program builder. Imagine if Bowden was given a % of revenue when he got to FSU.
It uses 2017 seasons as the baseline, which is killer for him because he got all the post-natty claim tickets counted towards him.
Regardless, his agent seriously earned his damn money by getting that included in the contract. And it doesn't look like it resets annually, so Heup is always gonna be getting a nice chunk of change so long as shit keeps moving in the right direction.
Where it's crazy good for him is it's not just ticket, but ticket+donation. I have no idea what the avg is for a season ticket at ucf, but let's say its 250 for ticket+donation. We added ~10,000 seasons this past off-season through no effort on his part. That'd be $625k gravy on top of his contract that literally just fell in his lap, and its recurring for as long as people renew. With DW's focus on premium donor seating and with stadium expansion potentially 5ish years out, it could grow to be a sizeable portion of his overall take. Solid stuff.
That being said, Heup is capped out at the mean pay of the 10 highest paid college coaches. Still a hell of a lot of money.
All of the creative structure is friendly to UCF in a way we can pay a coach a high number without risking/guaranteeing money in a way that is compromised by our smaller TV revenue. That said, a Texas A&M can just come in and beat that by infinity dollars if they wanted as a total and buyouts are just whatever. No one will balk at a buyout if they feel like he can be the next great thing.
that's what i was wondering. so say he wins us another national championship, has a top 10 finish, etc. his bonus cap will probably be reached so anything above and beyond that -- including the season ticket reward -- won't go any higher than that?
True. But you could say that about anyone, including Huepel. Maybe not in year 2 but when you are talking long term 'liking it here' isn't necessarily the biggest deciding factor. I'd venture to say most coaches like being where they are if they are successful. Except Charlie Strong. He hates his job even last year winning a bunch of games.
White said in a statement released Friday after seeing Stricklin’s comments he looked forward to trying to schedule a game with the Gators. “I’m encouraged to hear that UF is open to the idea of playing us in football. Since I’ve been here, it had been made clear to me there wasn’t much hope of that,” White’s statement read. “Our scheduling philosophy has been transparent since I arrived at UCF — that we’re open to a home-and-home series with any non-conference Power 6 opponent. Top 10 programs don’t schedule two-for-one series where the balance is not in their favor. Our growing fanbase and our student-athletes deserve better than that. “However, It sounds as though a single game could be an option and I’d bet there are plenty of neutral-site locations that would love to host a game of that magnitude. Perhaps we could work out a three-game series, with a home-and-home and a neutral site involved. I’m excited to follow up with Scott and his team to see if we can make this happen. It would be great for college football in the Sunshine State!” Let’s get it done
Just hillarious to see UF feel the need to try to explain it away. And Danny vs Stricklin arguing it out in the press? I’ll take that match up all day. Hope it continues.
I wonder why Stricklin felt the need to publicly state this out loud. Maybe because only a moron believes they didn’t duck UCF in the peach bowl.
