well fuck. got the screen flicker on my pixel 3. how do i go about getting a replacement? edit: that wasn't the easiest thing in the world, but i got it. had a chat request with Google and someone came on after about 40 minutes, said "we're experiencing a long wait, you can go to the community support" and then just ended the chat. it was ridiculous! but i was able to call and they were able to help me out pretty quickly
The cheaper of OnePlus 6T, Galaxy S9, or Pixel 3. Likely be happy with any, although keep in mind the 6T doesn't have wireless charging if that's important to you.
Thanks. Currently use the wireless charger I got with my s8 plus every night so I'd like to keep that up
Pixel has no headphone jack, s9 does. Otherwise just go with whichever of those you get a better deal on. I just decided between those two phones (priced the same when i bought) and ended up with the pixel to avoid a curved screen but that's obviously not an issue for an s8 user.
Yeah. I'd be fine with keeping my s8 but the screen is accumualting cracks and it's expensive as fuck to fix
I have the Pixel 3 and like it. I had the S8 and liked that too but the battery went to shit after a little over a year. Slow OS updates, ugly UI. If the S9 is like the S8 I'd gladly take the Pixel 3.
my Pixel spent 4 days in california, one in arizona, and is now in texas supposed to have been delivered yesterday
Any wireless chargers that can fast charge a Pixel 3? i bought a Samsung one, but it doesn't fast charge the pixel. Also bought a cheap stand, that I'm going to take to work, and it doesn't either. Or....does the battery have to be under a certain percentage for it to work?
I believe Google debunked the "proprietary" buzz re pixel stand. I read (could be misremembering) that while other chargers defaulted to slower speeds, Google is working to certify/validate the other third party chargers at full speed.
The price point is a bit high but for me it's the most convenient wireless charger I've used. That's also because typically I've used wireless chargers where the phone is lying flat. I hated having to pick it up and take it off the charger and then put it back down. This is more of a work issue than home issue but just felt to me like I may as well use a corded charger. With the Pixel stand due to the degree it's facing I can use duo while it's charhcha, I can axxeac my hotels security cams with it charging. Of course with Google assistant when I do get a text I just have her read it to me and then I reply never touching my phone and I can see on the screen that everything is transposed correct. It is understated but it looks good and feels good. The design honestly can't be beat. I enjoy using the picture frame aspect when it's charging or the music covers when listening to music. It just presents better to me. All of these are of course very specific to what I get out of it. If you are someone who doesn't utilize the Google Assistant or need to view your phone screen often throughout the day then maybe it wouldn't justify the price tag. But I find it to be pretty great and it is fast charging.
fuck. i'm about done with pixel phones. my second one just shat the bed. i guess i'm just getting bad ones, but i have had an absolutely horrible experience with these google phones so far. trying a factory reset, but if that doesn't work, it'll be another replacement, which i won't get before I go to dallas, so I'll be phoneless for all intents and purposes which is awesome edit: yup, its fucked. fuck this piece of shit. i'm going to try one last time with the next replacement phone, but if that doesn't work i'll find something else to use
Did we ever find a solution to the issues with google keyboard, where text just moves/overwrites/gets deleted in the body of a message?
I am working today and therefore had time to experiment. Tried swiftkey, chrooma, and fleksy. All had learning dictionaries that couldn't be permanently disabled, which is an immediate dq for me
Anyone get Android Pie yet that's not on a Google phone? Samsung started to rollout the updates to the S9 & S9+ a little bit earlier than January.
Finally got my trade-in credit. Only took a month for them to ship me the trade-in box. They said estimated value of my S8 when I made the purchase was $170, ended up getting $200
Using the Speaker Groups feature on Google Home devices (Google Home, Google Home Mini/max, Chromecasts, etc.) has the whole house rockin. Currently listening to Sinner Man (here is one of my favorite versions) and I've got direct coverage in pretty much all areas of my home.
I have a Moto X4 on Fi, so I'm *sorta* Google. Got it about two weeks ago. I'm not a huge fan of how it looks, but otherwise it great.
i'm fucking done with google phones. i'm about to get my 4th replacement in less than 3 months. assuming this one fails, i'm getting a refund and buying an iphone. fuck the pixel 3. by far the worst phone i've ever owned
i've had two where i get a flashing strobe light like effect on the screen and 2 with a green flashing screen/duplicating display hardware issue (1 phone had both).
Don't know someone else that's had an issue, let alone 4 in 3 months, that's crazy. Stop putting it in the washing machine
shit i thought it was waterproof, didn't think that would be an issue! but yeah, from googling around, it seems like both are these are two of the more common problems, i've just happened to get them both multiple times. the phone has a protective screen and is in a case so it's not like i'm dropping it/getting it wet etc. very very frustrating
bummer man. I still love my P2 XL. Been tempted multiple times to splash on the P3 promos (remeber that Fi Travel deal?) but awaiting the P4, will be a launch day purchase for me unless something goes wrong.
