I still have one but it doesn’t work anymore. I just ordered a new record player. I have a giant stack of vinyl just sitting there. My girlfriend tried to call me out on my record collection going to dust. She thinks she’s so punk rock. Not really though. She’s all prissy but tries to act hardcore.
I've never been to a music clinic/camp, but Mike Portnoy is my hero. Chris Broderick is a beast too. I actually want to go to this.
Not that Grammy's are a measure of who is actually good, but Between the Buried and Me got nominated for one. Holy shit. Also Ghost is probably going to lose to Hot Topic Zeppelin and I'm going to be mad and probably shit on everyone who likes them... again
I'm archiving this post for the next time you talk about shameless ripoffs. It's been a long time since I've had such a negative knee-jerk reaction to a band. Possibly only Linkin Park compares
The Zeppelin ripoff thing bothers me less than them sounding like a band that was engineered in a lab to win Grammys and appeal to the type of people who say shit like "you may not like them but you have to admit that they are very talented"
You're shook, pop a xanax and everything will be alright. Who are all the bands in this grammy contest?
Ghost is head to head against them for some rock stuff Metal: Between the Buried and Me, Deafheaven, Trivium, High on Fire, Underoath. Not a bad lineup considering what it's looked like in the past
Poor High On Fire, getting lumped in with that garbage. Ghost is gonna get their ass handed to them by Greta for rock. The fact that Ghost isn't in the metal category when the academy puts so many questionable bands there just shows how unmetal they are.
Goddammit. Antifa needs to put a stop to the grammy's. Greta is hate speech. "Safari Song", "Edge Of Darkness", "Black Smoke Rising", these songs are obviously anti-black.
People make mistakes tot. The insurance and title is switched. I will get paid I just haven’t been paid in full yet. Jeez have you never made questionable decisions in relationships? You sound like my dad. Not being a dick. Y’all both have a point;
No He's probably trying to give you some sound advice. This is part of the problem, you need to be more of a dick. Of course we do, we're old and wise.
I've gotten so caught up on my listening I'm now stuck going through albums like The Night Flight Orchestra. I don't understand this bands fascination with Miami.
This reminds me of that time, even though it's not really similar at all, that super popular hurr durr band Disturbed lost a Grammy battle in the "Hard Rock" genre to the "couldn't care less (outside of Thomas Pridgen's fun loving self), and honestly confused to be nominated" Mars Volta. Not gonna lie though, I do enjoy being able to facetiously toss in a Grammy victory when discussing the merits of my favorite band with the stupid weirdos who somehow don't share the same passion for my favorite band (fuckin weirdos). It's like I've got a license to play both sides of the coin. Hope that helps
Just wait for the Grammys thread. People who listened to about 3.5 albums this year will gush over how talented they are and it will be funny. That is, if the award even ends up on the broadcast. More and more it seems like the show is moving toward pop and hip-hop only. They couldn't even have Metallica perform by themselves a few years ago. They had to get Gaga in there too Theres also some nd poster that gets super mad if you dont like the same stuff as him. It's like a yearly tradition. I cant remember which. Last year he got all pissed when I said that big Logic song was corny
yeah my anecdote took place in like 2008 and even then it was relegated to the pre-show with ~4 people in the crowd most of the artists weren't even there to receive their awards for the other categories, I remember the announcers being legit surprised when the band started walking up to receive their trophy
All their releases are on German labels that have subpar exposure. Century Media and Nuclear Blast are too busy chasing the next trend to take notice.
here's my Top Five for 2018: 1. Slugdge - Estoteric Malacology 2. Uada - Cult of a Dying Sun 3. Rivers of Nihil - Where Owls Know My Name 4. Funeral Mist - Hekatomb 5. Aorlhac - L'esprit des vents

new Dream Theater. pretty standard stuff from them but why is half of the drum kit barely within reach?
I hold the grammys in pretty low regard, but when a band that actually goes hard is up, you already know who I'm in for
Doing a top 5 makes me feel too much pressure but that Chapel of Disease album is so good every song is good
