Any recommendations for a grill smoker combo? Looking at the Oklahoma Joe’s horizontal smokers but I can’t really find anything about grilling in the larger barrel, just on the burn box. Keeping the Webber for quick dinners or whatever fwiw
atlanta grill company has great deals on joes right now getting the itch to sell my old joe and come up on a new bitch
I’ve got a $1 turkey from Costco on right now. Dry brined for 72 hours and a little John Henry’s right before hitting the smoke. This is my real thanksgiving turkey. I was at the in-laws this year and my FIL “smokes” the bird with lighter fluid, briquettes, and wet mesquite chips on an old school Oklahoma Joe. Suffice it to say, it always tastes like lighter fluid, Kingsford, and heavy mesquite.
A 15lb turkey at 275 should be about 3 hours. I put it on at 2:15 so I’m hoping it’ll be done around 5:30. Yeah, midnight. Cool.
Prime brisket is $2.99/lb at my Costco (down from $3.79/lb normally) so I picked up a 16lber. Merry Christmas to me.
update sold my classic for 400 and bought the classic II with cart and all that accompanies it for 1600 pumped
I went to the SEC championship game this weekend and I read this thread before leaving town today. Saw your post, swung by, and picked up a classic Joe 2. :Respek:
Pulled off the best 2 roasts I've done today. Did not get pic of sirloin when done. What I did different was put them on the Primo for the last 10 minutes at about 700 degrees, flipping once. This was after about 1.5-2 hours on the offset at 350. Zack Zedalis & BayouMafia thanks for stopping by with your better halfs in tow
Whoa hadn't thought about air frying them. I used to flash fry but I lost some much of the rub flavor bc the oil washed it off so I stopped doing it. Definitely doing this next time I do wings.
Forgot this one. Grilled venison "inner loin" not sure what the correct name of the piece is called. Fried up backstrap the next night. *smack*
