Anybody play this? It's pretty fun, minus the fact that I'm terrible at it.

A group of my friends and I played when it was free on the ps store. Pretty fun game with some thrilling and hilarious moments. Don’t try and free yourself from the hook. And if someone is about to be put on the hook, just get directly behind the killer so he can’t see you then unhook and run.

According to the Xbox App I have over 60 days on Dead by Daylight. So... yeah... I've played it a bit.

Thoughts on this killer build? Noob3 did a video on it, claimed it was pretty sweaty.

Nurse's Calling, Distressing, Coulrophobia, and Knockout.

Still doesn't seem as bad as Nurse's Calling, BBQ & Chili, Hex Ruin, and Hex: No One Escapes Death (which I see pretty much every other game at this point), but all my killers are level 1 (about to hit rank 13), so I'm not well-versed on their perks.

For my survivors I like to build some variation of...

    1. Lithe, Balanced Landing, Sprint (Figure it's only worth it to have 1 exhaustion perk, Adrenaline notwithstanding)
    2. Self-Care
    3. Lightweight, Dance with Me, Urban Evasion, Poised
    4. Borrowed Time, Decisive Strike, Deliverance (in progress), Windows of Opportunity (also in progress)

I see a lot of folks using Adrenaline, Mettle of Man, Empathy, Bond, and I personally want to try Distortion (I think it's called), but only have Bond as a teachable.

I'd probably DC against that killer build...lol. It's just unfun to play against. I don't think I've ever run into anyone doing it but the goal of that build is to get people on the ground and leave them there (Knockout means teammates can't see auras of other survivors on the ground unless they're super close), then Coulrophobia makes healing much slower within your terror radius and Distressing makes your terror radius larger so it makes Coulrophobia work over a larger area. So the killer has Nurse's, you finally stumble upon a teammate bleeding out on the ground and try to get them up but it's super slow because of Coulrophobia, your aura shows up on Nurse's and the killer comes back and downs you and if you managed to get your teammate up they down them again as well and wait for the other teammates to come, rinse and repeat.

Personally, the most common killer perks I see are BBQ, Ruin and Sloppy Butcher. The 4th perk is just whatever. But those 3 are almost standard for super try hard killers nowadays. Sloppy got a big buff maybe a year or so ago. And Self Care got a nerf around the same time so that one-two punch made it so killers could make healing just not worth it for survivors. I don't run Self Care anymore because of it. It just wastes so much time healing yourself with Self Care especially if the killer is running Sloppy Butcher or an add-on that affects you the same way (anything that gives you a "Mangled" status).

My standard survivor build is Adrenaline, Balanced Landing, Borrowed Time and either Decisive Strike or Pharmacy. When I get low on green med kits (which I bring since I don't run Self Care) I run Pharmacy since you get a green med kit on your first chest search every game with it. Otherwise I bring the green med kit, usually with Gel Dressings and a yellow gauze add-on, and run Decisive. Mettle is considered a little cheap but it's getting a rework with the update today (you won't get Mettle after 3 melee hits anymore - you have to earn it with 3 safe unhooks or protection hits).

I don't disagree about self-care. I don't think Windows of Opportunity is a good perk for most (most seem to know where everything is already), but for me and where I am now, I think it'll be super helpful (haven't used it enough to know for sure). It's something I could replace self-care with. Maybe poised as well.

Was kind of annoyed yesterday, first game I decided to use White Ward with all my best add-ons and the Hillbilly used the perk that made you drop your item. I couldn't find it since he chased me for an hour before hooking me.

Next time I have a 5 stack, since we kind of use those to test out builds, I think I'm going to try this selfish build:
    1. Balanced Landing
    2. Dance with Me
    3. Poised
    4. Deliverance

I've been wanting to make a "Leave no Trace" to see if it could actually work at all. In that case it would be to run something like: Dance with Me, Poised, Lightweight, and Urban Evasion -- though I am pretty sure it would be a better build if I traded Poised for Lithe, but I really want Poised, Dance, and Lightweight in the build.

Got Kate to level 40, and I do not like Windows of Opportunity. I feel like it gets used when I don't need it, but isn't available when I do need it.

I really fucked up with Meg, and don't think I have adrenaline as a teachable perk yet, so I'll try to do that tonight.

What are your thoughts on Deliverance, bic

I kinda hate Deliverance because my friend used it for like a week or two straight to get the achievement for unhooking yourself. It can completely fuck you when you position yourself for a save then the person just saves themselves. And some people do it intentionally by waiting for you to get within feet of unhooking then they just do it in your face. And once you're off the hook you can't be healed for X amount of time so the person who positioned themselves to save you is completely useless.

Dance With Me can be fun. Pairing it with Lithe can definitely be good but, when playing killer myself, the plays that people do with Dance With Me that completely fool me are when they do it and don't go very far. They have to be uninjured for that to work but if they're uninjured, vault a window, and safely make their way to a tree or rock on an exterior wall I'm not going to find them. Usually only really bad players run to exterior walls since there's not much to work with there but if you have Dance With Me and sprint to a wall after a vault and aren't leaving scratch marks then it seems to work pretty well. There are just so many perks out there you can't prepare for so a Dance With Me play to an exterior wall to prevent even getting hit and waste a decent chunk of a killer's time can be solid.

Also, you keep mentioning Lightweight and I have to say... I think the perk is trash. My friend is really bad in chases and always wants to try and be undetected so he was an Urban Evasion Blendette (Claudette with dark cosmetics to try and be super hard to see) for a long time and always wanted to use Lightweight and I just can't see it being very good. Sure, if you're in a chase and somehow create like 3 seconds of distance then they might lose you. But in every other situation your scratch marks are only going to be more accurate for the killer. Normally scratch marks last 5 seconds? So if a killer stumbles upon scratch marks that are 5 seconds old they're much further behind you. If they stumble upon your Lightweight scratch marks they're actually going to be closer to being on you. Finding "old" scratch marks can waste a killer's time. Using Lightweight actually kinda helps them. Not that they're going to know you're using Lightweight but it's just if your scratch marks are disappearing sooner then it makes sense if they stumble upon yours while using Lightweight you're going to be closer to the killer.

I do like Lithe though, even without Dance With Me. It used to be that you had to be in a chase and vault for it to trigger which was sometimes iffy if the game didn't consider you to be in a chase yet but now it's just if you fast vault and aren't exhausted, you're going to use Lithe. I actually ran Lithe, Adrenaline, Self Care and Balanced Landing for a long time. Yes, Lithe and Balanced Landing are both pre-endgame exhaustion perks but you get benefits from Balanced Landing even when you're exhausted. So if you get on a map like Shelter Woods with almost nowhere to trigger Balanced Landing (only places would be dropping into basement which is pretty useless and then if you climb the big tree in the middle right you can get high enough to trigger it but it's not very practical) at least you still have Lithe to essentially give you a Sprint Burst that you via an action.

Hope you enjoyed the book. This is what happens when I get a DBD question at work. Also, my Lightweight rant may be just really off. I'm not a "stealthy" survivor. I like getting in chases. So the idea of using perks to actively lose a killer is weird to me. The only time I want a killer to leave me is when they realize they're wasting way too much time chasing one person they may never catch so I feel like I've won.

I don’t think lightweight is very good.

I like lithe and unbalanced, but I really enjoy sprint burst and working the exhaustion meter with it.

Current most underrated perk for me is Empathy. It’s so casually nice to see everyone that is a hurt boy and needs my love & affection.

Also everyone playing rn is so much more try hard cause of the new killer, 2X bp, anniversary etc

Cancel that. Just logged in, and lost hours of progress. I was almost rank 10 now I’m 11 with 0 pips. My killer was rank 13 when I went to bed now it’s 14.

Ashley has now gone down to level 15 as well

This happens way too often. I literally logged out and logged back in from the home screen to make sure it saved. Everything looked good, and now this for like the 3rd or 4th time. Super pissed because 2x bloodpoints are over now too.

Hag and Hillbilly come with the game, are fairly straight forward, and are considered quite strong.

But also the answer really depends on what you’re trying to do: learn the game, focus on rank, have fun, etc

Made a killer DC yesterday while playing on a smurf account (I have an account that I use when I solo as a survivor that is like rank 13, my normal one is 7.4 or 7 with 4 pips). Anyway, the killer was the hillbilly and camping (after a frustrating start, I think we got like 4 gens in 5 minutes). Anyway, I unhooked 2 survivors in front of his face. He obviously saw me, fired up the chainsaw, but hit the hooked person with it, and since it was before they were unhooked it didn’t do anything. Obviously a chase ensued, and he would get a shot on the unhooked survivor but borrowed time saved them both times. The second time he was literally face camping even when we'd try to bait him away, so I ran right in front, and then that all happened again. He DC'd immediately after the Borrowed Time proc'd and it was the best feeling ever.

So yeah, I think Borrowed Time is the most crucial perk in the game to run as a survivor.

This is pretty basic, and pretty helpful, though I'd say it's better to finish gens when you can as you never know when the killer will damage your almost completed gen.

    https://steamcommunity.com/app/381210/discussions/0/358415738204347196/?l=italian

    Key points:
    - As a rule of thumb, try not to use more than 2 survivors on a gen at a time. (Also, it's worth noting that if the killer is the Legion there's a good chance they will know you're working on gens together as it's one of his perks and almost every Legion I go up against runs it.)
    - Also, try to knock out the 3 gens that are close together early, if they are the last 3 gens left, it makes it very easy for the killer to defend them since they are all right next to each other.
    - Unless you're using Poised, don't sprint away after completing a gen, unless your purposely trying to distract or mislead the killer away

Also, it's safe to assume any killer above rank 12 is running BBQ and Chilli, so play as if.

Almost rank 4 hooray. I need about 2 more pips to hit the red, and then I'll probably start letting that account fall because I don't want to be that high.

Also, what the hell is a stream sniper? Edit: Looked it up. Means using streams to get an advantage. Anyway, I don't really get how it's possible to pull off on DbD...

Wrt to the linked video the streamer is saying that they were watching the stream while playing, got lucky enough to get in the same lobby, saw their names in said lobby, set the perks to Spirit defense perks, and stream sniped? To me, it looked like they were actually stream sniping, but that's so many things that have to fall into place to pull off or am I missing something?

A stream sniper is someone who waits for you to search for a game then "snipes" your lobby to play against you. Tru3 is a bit of an idiot though. One of those streamers who thinks everyone is stream sniping or every hit he misses is because of Dead Hard. I mean, he probably gets more stream snipers than others because he is, for some reason, one of the most popular DBD streamers but the rate that he thinks it's happening to him at is just not realistic.

What I'm assuming is a killer main in response to NOED:

"Typically only arrogant survs get caught by it, and they whine the most. You know, the ones that could have escaped but wanted to taunt the killer a bit more (maybe a little extra pallet looping) and assumed they could take one hit before running out the gate.

NOED should be built-in and not a hex to make survs gtfo"

Thoughts on the bolded part? I'd personally hate it. NOED is already pretty strong. This guy is also clearly biased and an angry person, but the times NOED fucks my team over the most is when someone is on a hook and we're trying to save them. Most of the time it really fucks us, 3 people could have easily survived if we were soulless dickbags. Either way, do killers actually think survivors are being toxic when they didn't run out of the gate while a teammate is hooked?

Also reading this thread is fun. https://steamcommunity.com/app/381210/discussions/0/1693785035827800807/

    bic -- have you tried:

Hex: Haunted Ground, Hex: NOED, Hex: Ruin, and .... for the hell of it Hex: Devour's Hope (Idk what the 4th one would be actually).

Doesn't have to be a Hex for the 4th one, but just those 3 in general sounds miserable.

Anyone who thinks NOED should be built-in is just a trash killer main. They already added the endgame collapse to force survivors out. Killers who run NOED are usually bad to begin with because they're using a perk slot in preparation for their own failure to prevent the gens from being completed.

I don't typically run NOED. I think I only run it on Wraith and Freddy because of how weak they are. Also, if you run NOED with a bunch of other Hex perks chances are all of the totems will get cleansed before the gens are completed and NOED won't come into play.

Something I do like to do is when I play Spirit I'll use Haunted Grounds and Devour Hope. No Ruin. And I try to go around the map and make all the survivors aware that they're facing a Spirit because if you play against a Spirit without Ruin then any flaming totems you find you'll assume are Haunted Grounds. So I'll be hooking people and just going about my business as the survivors go about theirs and I'm building Devour Hope stacks because they don't want to touch the flaming totems suspecting Haunted Grounds. Then I get that 3rd stack for Devour Hope and I have one hit downs. The survivors panic and start cleansing the flaming totems. 2/3 chance they cleanse Haunted Grounds (Haunted Grounds creates 2 flaming totems - cleansing either one triggers the perk) which just wastes time and alerts me to where they are more than anything at that point since I'll already have one hit downs from Devour Hope. Then if I get to 5 stacks of Devour Hope I can mori people. One of my favorite things while doing that is when they know I have Devour Hope and I hang someone then see the aura of a survivor on a flaming totem so I move towards them and get there right as they finish cleaning but it's Haunted Grounds. I imagine there's a brief sense of relief for the survivor followed immediately by intense panic.

You don’t want to full send on hex perks. I mean you can for fun but actual strategy it likely won’t work out vs competent teams since even shitty players can cleanse a hex with ease.

Then again I run 1 perk and slaughter red rank guys that think they are good so who knows.

I would say 2 hex setups can be fun like ruin and haunted grounds.

    I don’t ever run NOED. It’s a losers perk.
