Was watching the original Halloween with the ole lady last night as she still had never seen it, no matter his many times I see it this scene absolutely destroys me
not a horror movie but is a halloween movie... saw What we do in the shadows last night. pretty hilarious depending on your taste in humor. flight of the concords guys and co-directed by taika waititi from thor:ragnarok. supposed to be a sequel coming but waititi said it could be 6 years from now
Which platform? I remember starting it while back and got sidetracked, now I can't remember what it was on.
Not exactly horror but my 4 year old asked to watch Ghostbusters (the original) while I watch football tonight. This excites me for the future.
So, did anyone else end up see the Suspiria remake? After a bad review from a local reviewer (one star), I was all set to skip it but then saw it had good scores on both RT and IMDB so I took a chance yesterday. It was... actually surprisingly good. Gotta say, for a 150 minute flick, the pacing wasn't bad, and IMO a hell of a lot better than with Hereditary where 20 minutes of madness at the end couldn't make up for 100 minutes of dreadfully boring Toni Collette. Stuff actually happened in this movie, with a number of subplots all progressing at once. Dakota Johnson & Tilda Swinton both put in very strong performances, and the last act of the movie... holy bajeezus. Huge surprise for me. Easily in my top 10 flicks for the year.
What platform did you watch it on? I downloaded the original because I have never watched it through. Going to bang that out and then watch the new one.
I thought suspiria was an excellent movie. The climax was shot pretty crappily, but other than that I thought it was great.
This thread pretty dead lately, but I've been on a pretty big movie kick and when I movie it's always horror. I've seen....... Summer of 84, Unfriended Dark Web, Truth or Dare, Ghostland, and Annihilation in the last couple days. I've enjoyed all of them surprisingly. Even stuff like Truth or Dare. Maybe I'm just a horror bitch.
And I just realized you can get Shudder on Amazon for 5 a month. bye bye winter, I'll be watching movies.
Nah, those were on a streaming site I found on reddit. Also I saw Searching, that movie was good as well. Oh yeah, and Revenge. Chick is crazy hot, it's in french and english.
Damn that looks good. I bet the mom's actually the killer or something. Netflix is about to have a 4 part series on Ted Bundy to go along with the new Bundy movie. I can't wait for either of those. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/ted-bundy-true-crime-series-coming-netflix-1168441
Just watched The House that Jack Built. I unfortunately saw the R version instead of Unrated but think it was really good outside of the ending. Matt Dillon was phenomenal.
Mostly joking. I like Disturbia but FWIW itwas based on Rear Window. Just watched Summer of &4 I enjoyed it .
Liked Summer of 84. Rented The House that Jack built on Amazon to watch later. Wish it was the unrated version.
I couldn't find it but I also only work on public torrance. so If you have a link I'll cancel my order. Much rather be able to not have a 30day/48hour window to watch it. I'm sure as soon as I start it my kid will wake up or some shit.
Hulu is doing a new holiday themed movie each month. Solid B horror movies that could benefit from being 60 minutes instead of 90. Christmas one, Pooka, was probably the best so far. Thanksgiving one plays out like a lifetime movie and Halloween one is stupid and ridiculous but not necessarily in bad way
Watching Bird Box on Netflix. Tends to drag in parts, but when it gets tense, it gets TENSE. Essentially, A Quiet Place except with vision instead of sound
Watched the first half of this before I had to head to the airport, it’s interesting, but I’m just questioning if the plot point of the cause is just trrrible or if it’s fine. Maybe it gets explained more clearly or effectively in the second half of the movie but it was kind of a nag in my mind on whether it really annoyed me or not.
I liked bird box but I'm kind of a sucker apocalyptic movies. Thought Sandra Bullock was pretty good in it as was Malkovich. Above average Netflix movie imo. Anyone read the book?
just finished Bird Box and at the moment feel like it was decently entertaining but the more I think about it, the more i lean toward it being offensively bad. I'm all for some suspension of belief and ridiculousness (looking at you Quiet Place) but the final 40 or so minutes of the movie were pretty terrible and pretty much ruin what was a promising first half+
