Also looking for good World War 2 or World War 1 podcasts. I found some of the highest rated ones and stoped listening. Typically it is because I couldn't stand the narrator.
Super duper let down by Slate's podcast on Ruby Ridge, Standoff. I couldn't make it through episode 2. Spends way too much time humanizing a neo-Nazi who thought that the only way to bring about biblical Armageddon was with a race war. A week after a dude shot up a synagogue, I'm just not interested in hearing about how good of a guy Randy Weaver was and how sad he is that his wife and son are dead (it's his own fucking fault). At one point the narrator posits that the ATF could have "just left him alone" on the mountain and ignored the fact that there was a federal arrest warrant he was refusing to comply with. I loved Slow Burn but Standoff is pure garbage.
I think it's a fair question to ask considering that he was baited into committing the crime I've enjoyed it but I also didn't know much about the event going in
Anyone listening to the Steve McNair podcast from SI? Really feels like the guy is stretching to create an alternate theory. If I hear one more time how “her friends and family just couldn’t believe that she was capable of this crime.” I’m going to lose my mind. No shit they can’t believe it, they don’t want to, it’s someone they loved...
Looking forward to it. I was on a long drive this weekend and played the Xmas Special from 2015. I hadn't listened to it since then but nothing like Ho Ho the elf to put you in Xmas spirit. So funny.
Let me put in a strong recommendation for the "Buried Truths" podcast. I'm a little biased because one of the main subjects is my buddy's grandfather, but it's amazing in its own right. Let's just say that Georgia's history of voter suppression is well-entrenched.
so I am to believe the streak ends and LSU is that good ? to not take the smallish fishes glory this afternoon but if I win steven a smith do I get to sit with u and paul on tv? maybe we could get scott and brock to sit in ? just sayin .
Kinda has a Serial S1/Making a Murder vibe to it. I'm not a huge fan of the INTERCEPT plugging Stitcher Premium. So I guess i'll wait until Dec 20th.
It sounds great, almost like S2 of In the Dark. Also, this is like the 6th case I’ve heard that the GBI fucks up.
Got a 3+. hour drive staring me in the face after this mediation is done today. Will be all over this CBB and new U Talking U2 2 Me
Sorry if these have already been posted but i really like Business Wars and The Pitch. Business Wars is generally several ~30 minute episodes about a major competition between brands. Coke vs Pepsi, Red Bull vs Monster, Xbox vs Playstation etc. The Pitch is Shark Tank in podcast form with less grandstanding and celebrities
I’m listening to the dream currently. I find it really interesting because I’ve never known someone to get sucked into one of these pyramid schemes aside from seeing random ones on Facebook by people from my home town
just so you know I am not so hard and old I can learn from people younger than I . I have a young adult that periodically breaks my mind . it is truly correct to say your-me is never to old to learn .
I enjoyed her elementary school friend telling her how to target people that live on welfare in trailer parks
The enthusiasm Wiger puts into the performance of that song is only matched by the awkwardness of him transitioning back into robot mode upon completion of it.
Wiger is so great he is why I love doughboys. And the Xmas episode of Comedy Bang Bang is always the funniest podcast released each year
As a history teacher, very good educational podcast. https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/our-fake-history/id1021703062?mt=2
10 episodes in and i feel the same way. started out thinking it could have been jay, but i think Adnan is a sociopath.
The guy is super dorky, but this is one of my favorite podcasts. Will vouch for it. His ones about Rasputin and the Trojan War are great
If you haven't listened to Undisclosed, you've only got a tiny sliver of the information possible. Actual lawyers looking at the case (from an admittedly pro-Adnan viewpoint), not a journalist. http://undisclosed-podcast.com/ The info coming out of the latest appeal makes it seem pretty likely that his conviction being overturned will be upheld. Precedent shows that an attorney not contacting a possible alibi witness is ineffective assistance of council. They cannot reasonably conclude whether an alibi witness is useful or not without contacting them, regardless of how Thiru wants to willfully misinterpret case law. http://undisclosed-podcast.com/episodes/bonus/final-appeal.html
Also, I can't do History on Fire anymore. Bolleli is just terrible at what he does in comparison to other history podcasts. He picks awesome topics but ruins them, and unfortunately, causes other people like Dan Carlin to not do them (like the Aztecs and Cortez)
I stayed in a hotel recently while it was hosting an Herbalife convention and it was really depressing. Nice hotel though. I think he was just really stoned.
