Yeah I honestly had no frame of reference. It was enlightening to me, like pricing out office chairs. If I was on price is right everyone would have bid a dollar more than me.
Need some recommendations for some suspenders/braces. Just got my Indochino suit in (suppose I’ll do a full write up soon with some pictures,) and I went with side tabs (no belt loops) with suspenders buttons.
http://quilityblankets.com/ I hardly ever post... but had to share my weighted blanket revelation. Parents got me the 25lb version for Christmas. (I'm 6'2 215) Slept incredible.
Sleeps pretty warm but it wasn't bad and I get hot at times/live in FL. Disclaimer: I've only had it the one night so I'll check back in after a week or 2. Not insane. Terrible site design.
I'm buying new bedding--sheets, comforter/top blanket, pillows. Suggestions? Are bamboo pillows legit?
Got some AirPods for Christmas. idgaf how douchey I look I love these things. Currently walking through Hartsfield-Jackson
I’m not pimping the product or anything, but suggesting a washing machine drum as an alternative was a bizarre post.
My 90 year old Grandpa told a story at Christmas this year about his brother giving the wife a Dutch oven. He didn't use or know that term, but sounds like that move is as old as time.
Swing by the dump, tell them you want a washing machine drum. Save $200. It'll look all shiny... and just like a solo stove.
https://www.cozypure.com/ This is local to me, bought a mattress and all my bedding and love it. They had so many pillow options I bought like two of everything. It was hard deciding which to keep and which to put on the guest beds. The Lanoodle and Baanoodle pillows are awesome - it’s shredded organic latex in the shape of noodles, the Baa has wool fill one side in addition to the noodles. The Kapok fill is great as well, feels like down but keeps its plushiness/fluff better. I’d rate these over my Nest pillows, way over the 2-3 highest rated bamboo pillows off amazon that are really just fucking soft yoga bricks, well ahead of anything at BB&B (I’ve probably tried everything they carry), and the mypillow, which is utter trash. Nest pillows are good, and before that I was just buying some of the $20-40 higher rated pillows on Amazon and just replacing them every 4-6 months when they flatten out.
Tell me more. What type of bedding? Have any blankets? Super intrigued by a lot of what they offer. Thanks
Toppers... I have the Lanoodle Cuddle mattress topper, and it’s awesome. Same as the pillows, noodles latex fill, hugs you when you lay on it, shifts and molds well. They have one called the Cozy which is the same thing but styled differently, tufted rows, and different outer materials. The cuddle has a really soft sateen cotton outside, the cozy has knit on one side and a softer cotton on the other. They also had a 3in wool fill topper that was super soft and comfortable, it was a toss up between the Cozy and Wooluptuos. I may go back for the wool one, initially I was worried it would feel too hot year round. If I still lived in the Midwest/somewhere colder I probably would’ve gotten it instead. Comforter... I have the wool fill, and it’s great. They say wool has the dual benefit of staying cool in summer and warm in winter. I never felt sweaty hot in the summer, but I still take it off and prefer just a light blanket in the summer. It’s perfect in the winter. Blankets... I got their pebble pique matelasse blanket, it’s good, soft, light. As good as any similarly priced blanket. Target has these blankets from a brand called Threshold that I love - the sweater knit and the marled chenille are crazy soft, I have like 6-7 of them, on my beds/couches/chairs. Sheets/pillowcases... I got their 300tc organic cotton sateen sheets/cases. Again, good, soft, cool, but as good as anything I’ve bought before. I still rotate in the different pima, percale, sateen sets I have.
do people think they look douchey? they are awesome and are so commonplace walking around the city that nobody even gives them a second look anymore
This is a mid-level model 3. Base price is $46k-ish, and an extra $5k for enhanced auto pilot. Charge is 260ish miles. I was never much into the Tesla hype but if you haven’t driven one it’s incredible and will change any negative preconceived notions or biases you may have had. It’s the real deal. The acceleration is ridiculous. You hardly step on the “gas” and you are at 60 mph in an instant. When you take your foot off, the car doesn’t coast to a stop like a normal car, it brakes. I think this is called regenerative braking which helps to charge the battery. More than anything it’s just a fun car to drive. I’ve only started to scratch the surface on the bells and whistles. Can’t wait to explore it more.
Anyone have a newer explorer? Thinking about getting one for the wife (she doesn’t like the body style of CR-Vs).
SIL has one and loves it Little plastic pieces break all over the place like any Ford but it drives nice
Bought a 2018 Limited that is loaded in March. Absolutely love it. Wife uses the seat/back massager all the time in ours. Gets decent highway gas mileage and has a lot of space. The cruise control/speed equalizer/lane assist has made me a lazy driver but it’s pretty freaking awesome. Only issue was oddly with SiriusXM connectivity problems. The newer models have a single antennae for SiriusXM and I believe your standard GPS. There were major issues causing SiriusXM to drop out or show “trying to connect” all the time. I had a firmware update rollout at some point like 2 weeks after we bought it that fixed everything though I think there are still some lingering issues with that for other drivers on an explorer forum I frequent.
My mom has a 2018 that has EVERYTHING. it’s insane, we drove it to Dallas for the Cotton bowl and the adaptive cruise control is a game changer. You set a speed and it does everything for you, you just steer. 10/10.
It’s maddening how well designed they are. Good sound, great functionality, solid battery life, and I’m told the microphone sounds better than the BT mic in my car.
Ford Sync 3 was updated to v3 recently and you can download it from their site and upgrade it via a USB stick. You can now run Waze without launching Apple CarPlay. Ford contracted with the company that used to make Blackberry phones to write Sync 3 and it's awesome. Older versions of Ford Sync were done by Microsoft and are slooowww.
what engine do you have? I’m looking at a limited for her but am a little concerned about the V6 because I plan on using it to commute ~9 hours every other weekend. platinum or limited?
Hold up, I have Sync3 on my 2016 but it doesn’t do CarPlay. You’re telling me I can update it via USB?
Are you sure you have Sync 3? The only reason I ask is my Mom has a 2016 Edge that is Sync 2. I have a 2017 Fusion Energi with Sync 3 and have upgraded it twice, once from 2.0 to 2.3 and then 2.3 to 3.0 last week.
