I've done Inks Lake, Pace bend is pretty popular for quick access from Austin. There are camping loops at Enchanted Rock, but might be only for groups, I forget.
like Inks Lake. They said they're gonna finally let you start reserving specific spots in advance so I'm gonna wait til that happens (early 2019) bc I want a place that's on the water
Ok had one of the best sandwiches of my life at JW Marriott at the corner restaurant. Turkey club with Gouda was legit amazing
I don't hate the all plant burger place at whole foods. I only go there when I'm craving a burger but trying not feel guilty about my cholesterol.
Huts >>>> Walking there on Wednesday night for the BOGO Special was a regular thing for me and my roommate at monarch. The BOGO is only for two of the same burger. So each of us ordered one kind and gave the 2nd to go to the other person. Eat that one for munchies later or lunch the next day
Only cold topping I’d keep in the first place is tomato. Lettuce would be soggy. Any peppers or cheese leave on paddy and toaster oven that. Takes longer than microwave so just leaving the bun out at room temp was fine for me. 90% of the time that second burger was eaten in munchie hours while playing XB. We had a pretty awesome dual screen / XB1 setup and smoked entirely too much
Lets keep the hidden deals around the city talk going sunday night hh at lucilles on rainey is my new tradition. the backyard lighting one of my 3 fave bars in the city and im a huge wine guy. cheap + chill for date night
They’ve done a nice job of upping the quality of offerings at the airport. Not sure if there’s incentives involved but a second bar and kitchen, peached and soon Noble is opening a bbq spot (closing their 620 location )
You walk through a parking garage into a second parking garage and have to go up a floor. It’s absurd for an airport Austin’s size and it’s a long walk
I get back into town mid day on the 29th Gonna sleep for maybe an entire week before I go back to work on the 7th
I gave my uber driver a 20 dollar cash tip and the motherfucker drove off with my luggage and I had to chase him down in the rain (only like 10 feet but still).... gatdamn!
Ran into a girl in the parking garage that was also trying to figure out where the hell to go and she'd already had one Lyft leave her and her next one was threatening to leave her. She wasn't local and was bordering on a meltdown. The long walk is shitty, but I can deal. It's the "follow these arrows into this parking garage and figure it out from there" that pissed me off. Doesn't tell you that you need to go up a level. No signs for shit in the garage. By the way, you need to go through some construction barriers. Oh and once you're there, then the red 1, red 2, red 3, etc. suggested by the app may mean something to you, but your driver won't GAF and good luck finding him. Oh and my guy started the clock once he entered the rideshare zone, before he even got into the covered area (that may just have been him being a POS). In any event, what a time of year to debut some bullshit like that.
If they do bbq near as good as they do sandwiches then look out BIG CHANGES ARE COMING TO OUR 620 NOBLE LOCATION! We are happy to announce the coming of our newest concept, Interstellar BBQ! We will be closing the Noble Sandwich Co location on RR 620 and will reopen in the same location as Interstellar BBQ in mid January 2019. Noble Sandwich Co. on Burnet Road will remain open as usual. Come see us in the shop!
bummed about this because its right around the corner from my house and I love a good sandwich, but if the brisket sandwich they do is any indication of how good it will be then I think we will finally have a really good bbq spot up here
Figured I’d ask given the thread, but what health insurance do you dudes have? I have to decide between Aetna, Cigna or BCBS.
I have Cigna and I think it sucks compared to the BCBS I used to have, but the switch happened during the Obamacare switch over so it's hard to compare before to after
I have bcbs through my work and I can’t complain. work offers some yearly health incentives that usually offset increase in coverage costs
