Debating sending it off to get graded. The case it is in has seen better days scratch wise but the card is a perfect 10

If you're not intending to sell it I say just get a new case, always hated the look of a graded card compared to the regular thick case

If it’s really in great condition you need to get it graded. Would increase value 10x

Is that bad boy numbered? I’m assuming Baker is a hot RC name to chase.

It’s not numbered, but it’s super short print so it’s super low numbered..just not numbered if that makes sense lol.

Saquon is the hottest NFL guy right now, but whatever QB from this class ends up being the best ( I think Baker) will have the most long term value.

Unfortunately, the 4 full boxes are only worth about $40-60 each and the Aflac Redemption boxes are only worth $4-6 each.

You touched base on it so I'll extrapolate more. If you're looking at NFL cards as an investment, do NOT put money into Running Backs. Their shelf life is short and for whatever reason they hardly ever hold their value. The value that QB's hold vs. RB's is astonishing. Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, Jim Brown... they're safe. But guys like Edgerrin James, Frank Gore, Adrian Peterson and even LaDainian Tomlinson really don't have great hobby when compared to Brady, Rodgers, Brees, etc. A Tomlinson 2001 Contenders PSA 10 is worth $1,000-1,500. A Brees is worth $15-20k.

tl;dr: Don't buy cards of Running Backs as an investment.

Currently over $55,000 with nearly two days left.

Personally I find the centering on that Rice 45/55, not sure how it got graded at 10, plus the bottom right corner looks questionable.

Same here sir. And 1986 was right when I first started to really get into collecting baseball cards and now that I think about it, I don’t think there were any decent rookies in that 86 Topps baseball set (same could be said for 88 Topps and multiple years thereafter). Yet, I spent any money I could find on baseball cards in 86 when it turns out that topps football and fleer basketball was where it was at back then.

Have a question this thread might be able to help with: Does anybody know of a site where they might be able to tell you (or guess) who an autograph is from?

Backstory if anybody wants to take a stab:
My grandpa passed away earlier this year, so my dad and his siblings went through his storage unit and found the baseball pictured in the spoiler and I've been tasked with figuring out who signed it. My grandpa lived in the St. Louis area (St. Charles, to be exact) for just about his entire adult life other than time spent in the service. He was a big St. Louis Cardinals fan, so I think a Cardinals player is obviously most likely. Wiki tells me Charles Feeney was the president of the National League from 1970-1986, so around that time frame would make sense (nice tight 16+ year window).

#St. Louis Cardinals If any Cardinals fans want to have a look.

    TIA

The best pull out of a pack I ever had was a Rice/Montana auto redemption card /5. I think it was Donruss Elite?. Ended up not getting the card because the company claimed they had a truck hijacked and those cards were on the truck. Ended up getting a Vick auto and someone else as a replacement. I was probably 14 or so and never considered putting it on ebay.

I have a Yordano Ventura autographed baseball. Got it as a gift from my mother in law at a fundraiser she was at a few years back. Ventura was still throwing heat at the time.

I put it on Facebook marketplace b/c I’m not big on it and it’s just been collecting dust in its case. I put it up for $20 and immediately got like 15 messages. Immediately think I priced it too low. I’m seeing autographed balls of his going for $300+, should I put it on eBay?

He wasn’t an amazing pitcher so I don’t get how this would have that type of value, even if he is dead

I did the same with a Cito Gaston Jays bobblehead I got at a game when I was like 12. Put it on Kijiji (Canadian Craigslist) for $20 and had ~15 messages in an hour. Took down the ad and put it on ebay, and it ended up selling for around $150.
