Watched Bird Box, I liked it but it was kind of predictable, Good movie though. I tend to wonder if the end had a deeper meaning.
it doesn't. Three producers were in a room and one said I really like The River Wild let's copy that. The next said no, I prefer the Happening. And the third was like, let's do both but those movies are a little too dark so let's sprinkle in some Hallmark channel sappiness too
So in bird box...the crazy people driving around in the cars, how come they could see without the blindfolds and not try to commit suicide but the second other people took theirs off they instantly offed themselves
Shocked that someone would unleash this kind of hot take. https://mashable.com/article/bird-box-netflix-mental-illness-suicide/#FTEoGtUd7sqG
It had to do with their mental condition. They weren’t impacted the same way. The movie doesn’t explain why it’s just part of the universe they created. That’s what the article Pelican postec desks with
What about the end pisses you off? They built a story/universe and didn’t depart from that. I enjoyed the movie.
It's a 24-page thread for a movie that been out for two weeks. You should know better than to venture into the thread if you didn't want spoilers.
No. It’s easy to spoiler and horror movies are not the type of movies everyone sees within a few weeks.
Spoiler They rode over white water rapids in an old rowboat, blindfolded, with 2 five years that surely never learned how to swim all without life jackets yet they all miraculously survive something that would be difficult for an adult wearing a life jacket that wasn't blindfolded to do. Then they were chased around shaking trees in a blatant rip off of the Happening (which I'll add is not a movie that one should copy or take inspiration from). Finally the scene in the school for the blind would have been a good way to end it but the dialogue was so cheesy and sappy that it was almost unbearable to sit through. The movie had me hooked through the first two acts but I thought the third was some the laziest writing and completely ruined it for me. Like I said previously, it was a terrible mash up of the River Wild, The Happening and a Hallmark movie.
I agree with this entire post. My wife absolutely loved the movie is though, so I kept my thoughts to myself and let her enjoy it. I agree that the build up was great, but the ending was a giant turd.
Didn’t really enjoy bird box. Minor annoyance: Not a gun guy but does pumping a shotgun 3 times demonstrate shocking proficiency with it?
No but it shows she knew how to use it which was what he said she didn’t know. I don’t think it was meant to show she was an expert.
I enjoyed The Happening more than Bird Box for sure, but it was ok. A movie my wife was willing to watch. She doesn't watch any legit horror movies.
Bird Box didn't satisfy my craving for a horror movie, so I watched the Apostle which is also on Netflix. Pretty good slow burn movie that reminded of the The Witch but a little faster paced and less subtle
Hey dudes, if you don't have a Shudder sub but want to check out what they have for free for a bit, I just used promo code SHOCKUS for a free 60 day trial. I was trying to find the movie Terrified to watch and that's where it was, Argentine horror that's supposed to be really good.
It's not really horror but I'm watching "You" on Netflix. It is really damn good. Has a Dexter feel but with an obsessive dude. It's incredibly well made.
Putting that Shudder trial to use. It helps that I work from home so I can watch movies all day while working. Yesterday I saw... You Might Be the Killer Deadgirl Mandy Mayhem Deadgirl was probably the weirdest one which is saying a lot w/ Mandy on that list. Mayhem was probably my favorite, has Glen from Walking Dead and the chick from the Babysitter, just a fun ass movie. Loved it.
Went and saw Escape Room. Not great but it's the most inventive "horror" movie I have seen since The Cabin in the Woods. It was clear how it would play but it was presented really well. It also has Tyler Labine, and I love that guy.
I'm pretty excited for this movie as a Jake fan tbh. Looks like a good cast and is interesting. Horror subreddit said not to watch whole trailer as it gives too much away so I only watched 45 seconds or so.
Shudder is awesome btw. Watched Spring this morning and it's more of a love story than anything but I enjoyed it. Nothing scary really but it's a cool watch as it progresses to what it is.
