Saw some Webers for sale at Home Depot yesterday for like $530. They were around $800 before that

If doing gas, get a Weber. Nothing else comes close to quality.

If doing a pellet, I have a Rec tec and love it. Friends have a green mountain and love it. Just don’t get a Traeger unless you want to pay for marketing.

If doing a stick burner, keep saving money.

Yeah Weber is our top choice. The $400 was a housewarming present from a family member who wanted it to go towards a grill, so we planned on covering whatever the difference was if we got a nice-ish one

I’ve had my Weber for about ten years and recently replaced the grates, burn pan and burner guards for about $150. Brand new grill again

Anyone with Blink cameras and like them? Also looking at Arlo, but both brands seem to be pretty close in features through some initial research. Blink is owned by Amazon I believe?

Just bought a pair. Was done to Gryphon and Eero and I just liked the easier wired backhaul. Hoping that the two cover a three story house but they should.

My house is 5,000 sqft (humble brag) and the mesh networks were going to be much more expensive with the number of devices I would need for full coverage.

The Gryphon is a beast. Holds all the WiFi devices in the house (I’m almost at 100 total) and they never drop.

I’m sure you’ve read the Amazon reviews but if you haven’t check them out. It’s the best router on the market easily.

Yeah, loved the reviews. Taking a chance because most of the "review" sites don't have them listed with Erro, Orbi, etc. But I think that's mainly because they are newer. I liked the PG Mag and Tom's Guide reviews.

At my old job I worked with business owners and one of them owned a company that competes with ServPro. He said that he has people who's only job is to drive to any house that calls and put down fans. He said if you have fans down, people are scared to call another company and he keeps the business even if it takes 2 weeks to get started. So keep an eye out for that.

Yes, but you need to get the moisture pulled out as quick as possible, not slowly evaporated back in your house by wind.

A couple trees on our drip line were wilting and we couldn’t figure out why. Finally cracked the case tonight. Turns out the puppy snapped a line loose running around like a lunatic through a hedge row. Broke a t-connector straight down the center. I had the pleasure of cutting some new hose and crawling into the rough in the dark to splice it back together about 7 beers deep into the evening. Thanks dog, thanks a lot.:bang:

Closed our old house and under contract on our new.

Got mortgage rate of 4.125%— seemed good to me, anyone seeing something better?

New house doesn’t need any renovation work so looking to upgrade technology

Same, usually put in 3 hour long shifts every 3-5 days. By July it’s not fun, especially if the weather feels like the surface of Mars.

We’ve got three acres with ~1/3 being landscaped and the rest au natural. On that acre, maybe 50 sq ft is mowable grass, while the remainder consists of a complicated network of vines, flowers, bushes, hedges, fruit trees, border trees, potted plants, herb gardens, and so on. The irrigation lines have 13 different zones. It’s rewarding to keep in shape and sometimes even fun (especially when I need some peace and quiet), but shit is starting to feel like a full time job.

That's more so directed at the roofer that came over and told me my roof had at least 5 years left on it during inspection. Multiple leaks and roof patch jobs later over the past year, here we are. I have brought out multiple other roofers and all of them found problems with the way my current roof was installed and multiple spots of worn out shingle.
