One's Sean Payton one is McCarthy.

McCarthy doesn't have a creative bone in his body and the general feeling is that the Packers won in spite of him not because of him.

You don’t have that type of longevity if a team is winning in spite of you.

And although he’s talented, half his team and his own family thinks Aaron Rodgers is a douche bag asshole. I’m sure his lack of cooperation hasn’t helped.

Kitchens showed more creativity in 8 weeks than McCarthy has in like ten years

Whose to say McCarthy and Kitchens can’t coexist?

FTR - McCarthy isn’t my first choice, but we would be fine with him as the hire IMO.

i would be fine with mccarthy if we retained kitchens and he had full autonomy over the offense. i'm not sure that's how that would play out though

the main thing for me is that, ultimately, we get dorsey's guy. whether that's kitchens, mccarthy, or whomever, i want it to be dorsey's choice. if it's haslam, or a compromise between haslam's faction and dorsey's, i'll be significantly more uneasy.

I know NFL owners are super weird (as are most super rich people), but I just don’t understand Haslam here. Literally every decision Dorsey has made at this point has been beneficial to the franchise.

Yet he somehow thinks he is better equipped to choose the man who is going to lead this team?

There shouldn’t even be two “camps” right now. There should just be Dorsey telling Haslam who to hire and Haslam writing the checks.

I see the concern, but I deal with the two camp issue in the hiring process a lot. A lot of times it's a good thing, if your search committee is well structured

When you’re on your 5th coach in 7 years? And the the team has yet to post a winning record you should probably take a backseat to the guy who has proven he knows what the fuck he’s doing.

    RE: McCarthy

There is something to the McCarthy Jets rumors flying around. McCarthy is one of the top names on the list this coaching carousel and the Jets, after the Cardinals tried the same thing, don't want to be left out and have some high level of aggression going after the former Packers coach.

While Dorsey has McCarthy on his list, he isn't planning to just jump at a HC before going through his process. For many folks, the Jets can be seen as a Top 3 job this offseason after the Browns and Packers due to Sam Darnold and Jamal Adams. For McCarthy, waiting for Dorsey and the Browns to POSSIBLY offer him the job is probably not worth it.

If/when the Jets hire McCarthy, expect to hear "Dorsey really wasn't interested" and "that is why he allowed McCarthy to reschedule." Dorsey is interested and the rescheduling was a mutual respect decision.

Matt Eberflus is the Colts DC and a popular candidate and I want to say he coached here under Mangini or Shurmur.

It’s been mentioned by the ‘insiders’ that they want a young coach to grow with Mayfield fit the next 10 years. Arians doesn’t fit that mold.

    Why Freddie's Interview Late/Last

    JaredKMueller 1954 posts
    117 minutes agoVIP
As many have wondered, me included, why Freddie Kitchen's interview was so late, maybe last, in the process I finally have ONE piece of information:

Dorsey is aware that Kitchens hasn't interviewed for this level of position in the past and, out of respect for him, gave him as much time to prepare as possible because he could. Having Freddie in-house allowed him to complete that interview any time he wanted which gave Kitchens as much time as possible to prepare.

Other young coaches without HC interview experience did get the same opportunity for a variety of reasons not limited to Dorsey wanting to see how they did on short notice and, for those coaching in the Playoffs, scheduling limitations.

There may be other reasons but this is one of them. They could have just interviewed him the same day or around the time they interviewed Gregg.

Also... Rumor that it's down to Eberfleus and Freddy.
