also didn't he have Seattle +2? Is this gonna be another case where he says after the fact he actually had it at a different line and won?
Russillo was on his podcast Friday and they were teasing SVP that he thinks he knows a lot about gambling.
eh, BS started it, Russillo side stepped it. BS said "SVP is the gambling guy at ESPN" and that he didn't get it and he doesn't mind taking him on.
Gambling god Simmons also announced on that pod there's no shaky QBs in action this weekend, you can count on them all.
I'm not sure about that. SVP beefs with people a lot on Twitter, although it could also be a Collinsworth situation where SVP is on his podcast next week.
I'm not saying he's furious about it or anything. Point was more than SVP often doesn't let stuff like that go. I don't think he hates him. Just saying he's not afraid to call other people out if he thinks they're taking shots and holds a bit of a grudge from time to time.
I don’t really understand what point svp is even making in his first tweet. BS says some hyperbolic shit and svp says tell me how gambling works? Seems completely unrelated. Was he just looking for the first BS gambling related tweet to fire back?
Bill resents (read: is jealous) that SVP is seen as being the guy that popularized gambling talk at ESPN, so he's taken little jabs at him whenever the subject comes up. He did it on a few of the pods back when the sports gambling ruling was made.
the "frank sinatra was the coolest" tangent on the godfather rewatchables was incredible bills apex mountain, really
Enjoyed the Oscars/McKay pod. But when Bill says he thinks A Star is Born is best bet for best picture, and says "Roma winning would be like Shape of Water winning. We'd look back and say really? It is a movie for Oscar voters." Then after his guest says Roma is in a tough spot because it is a Netflix movie you watch at home but you need to watch with full attention, Bill admits he was writing emails while watching it and missed most of it. So he halfway paid attention to a 2 hour long foreign language movie (that has subtitles) and claimed he thought it was not worthy of Best Picture. Classic
Yeah I enjoyed that pod too. Simmons just had a fire take on the Zach Lowe pod that caused me to laugh. He compared relying on Chris Paul (injury prone) to what concerned him about the Patriots relying on Josh Gordon at WR.
The Ringer likes to find some pop culture thing and just go balls deep with it, which can be annoying (I haven't seen a Star is Born) and good (Succession is fucking dope).
Some scars run too deep. Every Boston fan my age or older I know are the exact same way. They can’t enjoy the last 15 years of Boston Awesomeness because the previous 30 years was too much trauma for them
I think fans just like to bitch and think that their issues are as bad as anyone else's. It happens all the time on here. Boston fans are a lot like Bama fans on here.
You mean to tell me a guy that went to the same prep school as the McMahons and drove a Porsche in high school is entitled? Get outta here
BS trying to add bye weeks to Brady’s playoff win total this week was rich. Sal shows incredible self restraint. It feels like he’s close to laying into him.
bragging about Brady when he said he'd take Watson over Brady at the beginning of the playoffs, it's a miracle he has any friends
All the times they came back to this too had me dying. Its gonna be such a good running joke. This is by far the best podcast on The Ringer network.
you can tell Bill really struggles to talk about LeBron objectively after having him kill Boston for a decade straight
