My 2 year old woke up around 4 and got in the bed with us, so I went ahead and stayed up for New Year Dash. What a waste. That show is usually loaded with angles, and the only thing that happened is Stevie Ray and Horace Hogan repledged their allegiance to the nWo. Now I’m tired for nothing.
Hope NJPW throws a ton of cash to Jericho cause they lost the bulk of the guys who draw American viewers to them.
The announcers made a big deal out of Okada going back to the shorts after using pants for his ring attire for a bit, I guess it means a lot to them
Apparently, if Kenny says no to WWE, there's nothing ever going to get him to work for Vince. Talk of a fantastic offer unlike anyone's seen
A surprising few top guys make even a million a year in WWE (as a base salary). Most of the money is from merch. Kenny might have been offered 2 or 3mm with lots of incentives. I can't see Vince offering more than that. Then again Triple H is the VP of personnel so he may be making the call
There’s so many great matches for Kenny in WWE/NXT. Rollins, AJ, Balor, Richochet, Dunn, Owens, Nakamura, Zayn. Hope Kenny takes the money
What’s the best move with Omega? Invasion angle with Styles/Balor/Gallows/Anderson? I know Invasion angles usually suck, but those other guys (besides AJ) need a jump start, it makes Omega a huge deal, and presumably the leading storyline. I could get down with it leading to a Mania match vs Rollins. I’d go all the way with it. Let Rollins take the title from Lesnar, and let Omega win the Rumble. Turn the company upside down and get some buzz.
Omega opposite Rollins...smarmy face vs smarmy heel? Take my money. Just have Omega and his boys beat down Rollins every week leading up to Mania...
There's no "best" creative option for Kenny on main roster WWE with Vince involved. There's only less shitty. I wouldn't blame him at all if he takes the money. On paper it'd be the best option, if nobody else matches. It would also render a lot of what he's said over the last couple of years utter bullshit. I'll still love him regardless.
I don’t expect to see Roman for some time... AJ is the comp. they debut him strong. And now his the #1 guy on Smackdown. Maybe the company for the men’s side
Let’s get those rumble dollars in... just a few short weeks. I want to run the drawing Monday or Tuesday before the event.
Spoiler translation Kenny Omega (35), who fell from the IWGP heavyweight title of the New Japan Wrestling, revealed his determination to leave Japan mat on Sunday. It is unavoidable that the withdrawal of the new-day pro from this month is inevitable, surely moving the main battlefield overseas. The Xintiand is likely to be narrowed down to WWE of the world's largest organization, whether it is a new American organization "AEW (All Elite Wrestling)" in which the ally of the elite is expressing participation. Kenny lost to Hiroshi Tanahashi (42) at the Tokyo Dome Games did not show up at the Korakuen Games the following day, and remarks were drawing attention. One of the reasons is the existence of "AEW", which was officially announced on the 1st. NFL Jacksonville Jaguars co-owner owner Tony Kang owner, said the group has already signed contracts with Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson), Cody, Hangman · Page, which was an ally of the elite It is clear. Kenny who responded to the interview of this newspaper on this day said, "The game was like a battle to decide the main character as I thought now.The win is righteous. It will be a bit overpowered, but what I've been trying hard is the main character It was only for becoming an enemy ... it was frustrating, of course it was bad for me to lose, it's all my responsibility "and I looked back at the Tanahashi battle. I also mentioned about future concerns. "There is no place to put in now and it is better not to be in New Japan. The new Japan also became the era of Tanahashi. It can not be a useful role of Tanahashi's New Japan.Of course the Tanahashi are superior, I do not think it is strong either So, someday I would like to do if there 's a rematch, but for now it is better not to stay in the ring for a while, it' s not just New Japan, thinking a little rest and making a different strategy Told. Other choices are AEW or anything other than WWE that has received repeated offers so far. For the next ring, "If I go to WWE, the fans there will be pleased, and the fans there will be pleased if I go to AEW.I want to be a place where Kenny is going to be" happy " I am not there, I will be gone ", but as the contract with the new day pro remains until the end of the month, I avoided saying" I do not know what will happen myself ". Nevertheless the determination to leave the Japanese mat which had been active for more than 10 years since 2008 when I came to DDT for the first time is not a common thing and it will not cover it. Best bout machine loved by many domestic fans goes to a new stage.
I can't see Kenny going to WWE. AEW without Kenny really isn't more than a ROH or Impact. If they have Kenny and they have the cash they claim + TNT or TBS and now you have WCW lite
I had planned on sending in the money next week. I know I don't have a spot until I send money but just FYI, you'll have at least one more spot filled.
Kenny is 35, I just want him to cash in. Doesn't matter if its AEW or WWE but he deserves it. I look at wrestling like football, these guys kill themselves, have short careers, want my favorite guys to get paid while they can.
Just because I don't watch the weekly product from Impact, ROH or NJPW I rather he go to WWE. I don't love the Bucks, Cody, Hangman and Kenny enough to give them 60-120 minutes a week.
AEW would have to really bring in some other top guys (Pentagon, Fenix, etc.) to draw me away from primarily watching WWE. If AEW is smart they'll try to start out with a 1 hour show. I can't give RAW 3 hours, and I often can't give Smackdown 2, but I could give a show 1 hour a week if its tightly packaged and well written.
Yeah, I really view AEW's chances coming out of the box as dependent on three guys: Omega, Pentagon and Fenix. Get those three and you've got a stew going. New BTE this morning kinda hinted at Omega being on board, and the company is using his "Change the World" slogan. Can't see him getting away. They've apparently made major offers to Pentagon and Fenix as well. We'll see, they don't appear interested in WWE at this moment. I'd be shocked if any reputable network gave them more than an hour at this point. This is a startup after all. Hopefully we'll know more after their rally thing tomorrow.
Kushida heading to WWE. Fantastic in-ring performer that had done basically everything he could do in NJPW, and he's 35. Hopefully he'll be in NXT, can't see him doing much on the main roster and 205 Live just isn't a company priority.
The challenge I see for AEW is you have Cody, Bucks, Hangman, and maybe Omega....those are your stars. But everyone also already knows them as friends. You have to get some big names to oppose them because having the owners of a wrestling company dominate the company as one large stable....that doesn't work. And if you aren't doing that, you have to figure out a way to break them up that makes sense. As said above getting Penta and Fenix at least gives you a jumping off point. I'd watch a Penta vs Omega feud for the first ever Heavyweight Title. Fenix and Page could have some insane matches.
There going to need to go from a roster of 6 to a roster of 30+ if they honestly want to do a weekly hourly show plus PPV every 6 months They may be able to pick off some WWE guys who have been back burnered. Zack Ryder’s of the world. None of that moves the needle. Idk give them time and see it develop.
Finn Balor jumping ship would be big. He's underutilized in WWE but they're paying him better than they're using him and they like him as an "ambassador."
