I could tell I was constantly in and out of keto. I didn’t say “fuck it” but I indulged more than I should of.
I found Quest protein cookies. They taste like like store bought cookies that are almost stale, but it satisfies the cookie craving. 4 net carbs.
I think I do better if I don’t try to fake my brain out with that stuff. Better to just curb the cravings until I don’t want it anymore.
It would really annoy me not having some sort of tangible metric that lets me know if I am or I am not. Thus...why I bought that meter/test thing. That's just me though. I fully realize everyone is different.
Started my 24 hour fast attempt at 630ish tonight, just trying to drink a ton of water before bed. Definitely tough though during this natty game.

I hear ya and that's obviously most important. Maybe if I'm consistently losing weight months from now, I won't be as concerned about my actual ketone levels at that point. Right now though, and for the foreseeable future, I feel the need to be able to track that.

So I take it you haven't tested the limits of your diet yet to see what you generally can and can't do in order to maintain without adding weight?
Keto breath is my give away. It’s starting to get better now but it really annoyed me when it first came on.
Nope, I still have 50 lbs I want to lose at a minimum, maybe 75 if I go crazy. If I’m able to drop 75, I’ll want to add another 25 of muscle after.
Get rid is sugar get rid of most processed carbs. I will add more types of fruits and maybe visit a brewery once in a while. My wife has been great for me and been making me a flan that is amazing so I am not missing sugar at all.
I haven’t missed anything TBH. My only complaint is my wife bitching about it. But I think she’s coming around. She’s trying to “ease into it” but hasn’t dropped weight. I caught her checking the scale this AM and think she’s frustrated I’ve dropped 10+ while she hasn’t.
So I’m trying to lose weight first and foremost. I had 10 total carbs today but am a bit under my fat and protein macros. Is it like, imperative I hit those to lose weight if I’m not still hungry and feel good at the end of the day?
My wife and I aren’t dropping weight like a lot remind her she isn’t dropping like you cause she is keeping it toight. But honestly my other post was about your future “diet”. You’re aren’t missing out on anything on this lifestyle. All I want is some mango and pineapple.

if you have a question ask jeeves I am joe I can’t help you tbh a lot of times local nutrition stores will run huge sales on them. target has them along with the quest muffins, cookies, brownies. Amazon is probably the cheapest overall
I think you need more than 10 carbs so you don’t crash. Your body is gonna use up your glycogen stores and then it’s going to freak out when it can’t find anymore. If you want to work your way down to 10-15 carbs then I’d suggest you progress to that point from 50ish per day. Once your body uses your glycogen you will feel hungrier so adding more fat is suggested
I can’t speak specifically for Keto results, but having a before picture is huge, because sometimes you notice it in other ways than a scale. I lost like 75ish pounds in 2011 and never really felt like I lost weight until I fit into smaller jeans or my belt would be loose. In 2018 I was -40ish and had the same thing. Both times I wish I had a good before picture for comparison reasons.
agreed. IMO clothes is the best way to gauge how well a diet/workout plan is working. Nothing more satisfying then tightening the belt by a notch or even better having to buy a smaller pair of pants.

Update HEB did NOT have quest snacks. Just gonna amazon them because I’m not gonna drive around looking any longer! Also my cookbook has some amazing recipes. I highly reccomend
I'm at 0.8!!! My blood keto meter arrived today and I just tested. I'm at 0.8. Which, according to the sources I've researched is "light nutritional ketosis". Goal is to be living in the 1.5 - 3.0 range which is the optimal range for maximum weight loss. Most people are <0.5 which is not dieting and very little ketones in your blood. Anything >3 isn't optimal and you don't lose anymore weight than being in the optimal range, plus there can be adverse effects if too high. I'm only 1 week in so this was the first sign or clue of any kind that tells me what I've been doing is working, or starting to work I guess.
