I know this isn’t necessarily a way to know you’re in ketosis....but I fucking feel way better. More energy, not as tired as much. It’s nice.
If we’re talking chocolate bars, I’ll have one of these every now and then. They are amazing Atkins Snack Bar, Caramel Chocolate Nut Roll, 5 Count
Being hungry at night is much easier during the day for me. Shut up and watch tv vs actually using my brain.
https://www.fora-shop.com/products/...tone-monitoring-system-bluetooth-4-0-free-app Turns out the app on your phone that it lets you transfer results to is pretty sweet.
It still doesn't make sense for me either. Even with the second sentence. Did you miss a 'than' in there somewhere?
He gets it, he just doesn’t agree. He has a point. The evening is a good time to chow down. I’m just weak around lunch time. *oh I see, yes I met than.
No it’s not that I disagree it’s that you said “being hungry at night is easier during the day” which is confusing unless you miss a “than” as in “its easier to be hungry at night than it is to be hungry during the day”.
Anyone else been dreaming about eating a shit load of carbs and ruining your goals? Its weird because after the first few days I haven't really craved carbs, but I've dreamed it 3 times. Figure its some sort of subconscious fear of failure thing.
yup. the office is filled with fresh cookies, lindor truffles, and cuban pastries and I haven't even been tempted.
The fat component to this diet really does make it more manageable for me. It’s the alcohol that gets me into trouble. I drink a lot of wine and that ignited my sweet tooth big time. Being hungover makes it harder too.
I actually love the alcohol aspect of it. I only really mix with water or club soda anyhow so nothing changed there. I drank on Sunday and Monday night without any concern except maybe my calories got a little high. But being able to have some drinks now and then is a huge upgrade over most strict diets.
Ah. Yeah I can see that, especially on a late night. Nothing quite like getting home at 2am and throwing a pizza in the oven. Then again I guess that's how you end up having to lose 40 pounds and posting in here
Yes! No cravings, but having dreams about accidentally eating a hamburger or potato salad pretty much every night.
Anyone experience weakness starting out? Wife has been going keto for 4 days now says she’s getting lightheaded. I’m not sure if it’s just her body adjusting to getting rid of all the sugars or if she just needs t eat more.
it’s normal. There will be some brain fog. But I doubt she’s getting enough fat and she’s probably dehydrated. Get some magnesium and potassium supplements (either a good multivitamin or add ZMAs at night) and make sure she’s getting enough electrolytes. You can do pedialyte, an electrolyte supplement that you add to your water, or drink a cup of chicken broth
Dreamed about having a chocolate shake/smoothie few nights ago. Made this last night: https://www.gnom-gnom.com/paleo-keto-bulletproof-chocolate-milkshake/ Amazing. Does erythritol count against carbs? I figure it's kind of like how alcohol(vodka, etc.) doesn't count against you.
Thanks everyone. I figured it might be something she needs to add. I’ve been getting onto her about drinking more.
sugar alcohols can still have an effect on your insulin levels so it’s best to not overdo it. Erythritol has a net carb count of 0 because of the sugar alcohol, but that doesn’t mean it’s harmless
here’s your friendly neighborhood reminder that too much MCT can cause nausea and lightheadedness and fatigue and heart palpitations
mct powder is generally easier on the digestive system but is quite a bit more expensive. The oil is cheaper but can cause entries in the “I just shit my pants at work” thread and can provoke food allergies
I think the first 3 nights or so I dreamt of pizza. I don’t even eat pizza much so I thought it was weird.
Can you have too much salt? I haven’t been watching salt intake due to the fat content, but can you ingest too much that becomes detrimental?
Wasn't very hungry at all for lunch so just had a hard boiled egg, string cheese stick, and one of those small slim jim's. BOOM! keto.
Not especially. Shakes, hard boiled eggs, salami, cheese, angus steak burgers (from a deli) and various frozen veggies that I just heat up 2 servings of. It’s some combination of that most days. It doesn’t feel extreme with processing.
there’s excess sodium in basically all of that FYI deli meats have added sodium for flavor and to act as a preservative
Just bought birthday cake and cookies n cream quest bars. Felt like a damn fiend that finally scored drugs as I tore into a birthday cake bar in my car of the target parking lot. Absolutely delicious. However soooo sweet and filling. I ate 1/2 of one. Highly recommend although I don’t think I’m gonna eat one a day or anything. Prob once every now and then when I’m craving a sweet (which isn’t often).
My wife is home today and our Ring went off. I forgot to upgrade so it doesn't save, but I caught the tail end of a guy looking into her car (Alfa Romeo) after ringing the doorbell. He then hops into the passenger side of a white SUV and drives off. Wife freaks out and called the cops and filed a police report. Turns out I ordered some Keto stuff through Amazon and they must have had a person deliver in their personal car...Didn't put it all together until just now.
Okay. I will keep a closer eye on it. I mean, I added up everything I put down there with the servings I eat and it was about 75% of the daily recommended sodium intake. The steak burger pushes it just over 100 percent, which I don’t eat everyday. Doesn’t feel that excessive, but I will continue to monitor it.
Probably behind the times but just discovered Mio from a fellow co-worker who has been doing a keto diet for a year or so. Nice little change up to add a little flavor to my water with just a small squirt of the stuff. I'm not drinking any type of pop anymore, even diet, so this seem like a good safe alternative.
Yeah people delvering in their personal cars through amazon is common. Happens all the time to me. They’ll usually take a picture of the package once they place it on your doorstep and upload it so don’t be freaked out if you see someone on the doorbell taking a photo
