Dextrose is a form of glucose. That’s why when you get an IV from passing out it’s a 5% dextrose solution.
i can't figure out how to eat enough fat, without also eating protein. if this continues i'm just going to start drinking olive oil
I’ve started buying pork belly in secret and frying it up when she’s not home. My whole life is a lie.
teh googles is showing that they have much more protein than fat. i assume there must be different varieties
From what reading I've done, there is a theory that MCT's are easily/quickly converted into ketones via some biochemical process that i don't understand, almost like a shortcut to ketosis. That seems to be the primary basis for why people use it. But coconut oil itself just seems to be just garden-variety saturated fat, though. And saturated fat (again, from what I've read) is extremely controversial. One extreme seems to be the established medical/nutritional community belief that saturated fat is extremely bad for you and will give you heart problems. This is the view of the American Heart Association, among others. The other extreme seems to be a sort of newer, almost conspiracy-theory-oriented view that saturated fats are totally fine, and have been slandered by the sugar industry for years. A great deal of internet keto advice seems to be based on the assumption that saturated fat is healthy, which (again) is controversial. I asked a doctor I know, who is on keto, about this, and his attitude was sort of like : Saturated fats are worth it IF you are successfully in ketosis. If you are not actually, successfully in ketosis, then you should avoid them.
if you want a diet that lets you eat sweets and drink soda then keto isn’t where you want to be. Make sacrifices and learn discipline
Was able to fit into size 31 501s and size medium flannel. I am down about 13 pounds more or less. I think I am losing inches more than weight which is great.
cheese wrap update: it was like eating a huge slice of cheese. Not really worth the money but I felt compelled to try
they’re not huge so you can’t wrap up much. I put a burger and some spinach and tomato inside of it and could barely keep it together
Yeah. I should've specified as a change up to lettuce. I like lettuce wraps but usually I just end up eating stuff out of a bowl instead
Two or three and you’re pushing your limit. Again I’ve found I can wrap anything I do with tortillas with lettuce. We’re making carnitas tacos tonight wrapped in lettuce.
We should just have a TMB thrive market membership https://thrivemarket.com/p/thrive-m...MI0M6PkJXk3wIVIx-tBh3PsAvhEAQYASABEgJRrvD_BwE
30% of your daily carb limit on one tortilla seems a bit much. Someone in here posted some that were 3g carbs.
I’m not worked up. It’s pointless to get uppity when you learn that you can’t really eat candy or ice cream on a diet designed to promote weight loss - especially with someone on the verge of having type 2 diabetes
All good, I’m just trying to eat healthier so I figured I’d ask. Ice cream and Dr Pepper are the only sugar heavy things I really like. No soda since Monday has been pretty easy though
most nutritionists will recommend staying away from low carb desserts or protein shakes or diet soda because it makes it more difficult to shake your cravings for sugar. That’s one of the reasons I don’t do protein bars
They all belong in the same place as the bud select I bought at the store the other day so I could have a beer while watching the football game That place is the garbage hth
I keep sparkling water on hand and occasionally I’ll have some of that with a squirt of lemon juice. You could do the mio thing too
I'm saying I've stayed in ketosis and my protein levels have been very close to my fat intakes according to MFP but I'm no nutritionist.
I’d love to know how much fat and protein you’re taking in. It’s very very very tough to stay in *optimal* ketosis if your fat and protein levels are where you say they are
