You'd hope that with the wall being his central issue, Trump could manage to say something that wasn't utter gibberish about it.
There’s steel inside of concrete. Again, concrete would not be a viable option at all for the wall in any capacity.
Yeah I got that. Just saying how he’s amazed that they can fill steel tubes with concrete and that concrete requires steel as well
Well, that’s what the picture is from. NBC has a story yesterday about how you could saw through the prototype
Lazy answers are bad. If I’m going to get on the Uber-progressives for jumping up and down and not giving solutions then I have to do the same for this type of bullshit. Exchange ideas — no “because I said so” stuff. Gotta be consistent.
They were asserting that AOC would’ve done better/same as Conor Lamb in a Trump ‘16 district even though Lamb basically ran to the center as humanely possible and distanced himself from Pelosi. He even used ads of him firing assault rifles to court the NRA vote. He barely won iirc and the fact ppl here are seriously trying to argue this point is unbelievable. Where’s the evidence she would’ve been a better candidate than him in his district?
But you started it by making the assertion that she could t have won that district. Where is the evidence she couldn’t? That’s the problem here. You’ve started an argument with no basis.
Why would he run an ad of him firing an assault rifle? To scare voters away or to court them? Would AOC have done the same?
Maybe because he likes shooting and wanted to demonstrate that? I’m pretty sure AOC wouldn’t have done that because it wouldn’t appear genuine. The question here is, can you prove that a progressive couldn’t have wine the district as you assert? Or are you making assumptions be aue Lamb did win it and he knows how to use a gun?
Candidates don’t spend money to illustrate their hobbies. In Conor’s case he was demonstrating to the voters he wouldn’t be a “far-left gun-grabber” or whatever. That one issue—AOC favoring more stringent firearm restrictions—would’ve most likely sunk her candidacy.
If we're going to use one off races to assert the success of the centrist strategy then how do you explain how Joe Donnelly ran a centrist campaign in Indiana and got creamed while Sherrod Brown in nearby Ohio(similar demographics and trending red) ran a progressive campaign and cruised to a victory? Lamb winning doesn't prove anything besides the fact that he was better option than his opponent. You have no evidence of how a progressive would've faired in that election. Now no one is saying a progressive would've definitively won but you're the one asserting that they definitively wouldn't have won when they have won in areas with similar demographics.
Convincing Trump voters to vote for a democrat is a narrower needle to thread than inspiring non-voters to vote for a democrat.
Please tell me this position requires senate confirmation. That dumb bitch is really convinced she’s going to carry the mantle in 2024 w/ Jared as the real POTUS.
I never understood the appeal of barstool's "smoke show of the week" and all of that sort of stuff. Half of the internet is porn and it's not like it's hard to find
You could say "I never understood why hot girls have 1.9 million followers on Instagram, there is porn everywhere." That article existed before instagram models. So that is why it was popular. Now people just follow hot chicks on instagram. Same thing
You can be sure about that. That’s the problem. Was him running an ad with a gun the reason he won? If he hadn’t run that ad would it be the reason he lost? You’re making assertions without any real backing. There is no proof that a progressive wouldn’t have won that race or performed better than centrists in any particular market. Stop clutching your pearls about progressive polotics. AOC is here to stay and there will be many more to follow.
Lamb winning the district as a centrist is not evidence that centrism was the only way to win that district. You are the one presenting things as evidence of something they are not evidence of
