Anyone entered a team in NLU's Fauxlex Series? Pretty good mix of tournaments in there, could be interesting to follow
USGA reached out to 5 clubs/courses to officially be a part of their US Open rota. Meaning each of these clubs would host once every 10-12 years, with others filling in the rest of the open slots. Those courses/clubs were Pebble Beach, Pinehurst, Oakmont, Shinnecock, and Winged Foot. WF members are voting on it Sunday.
It will be interesting to see if any of those turn the USGA down. Pebble and Pinehurst are basically no brainers. Oakmont is probably a 90% chance of being a yes. Winged Foot sounds like 60/40 leaning towards yes. Shinnecock is the one they’re worried about. If they say no though, chances are they can still get an Open when they want. It just won’t be guaranteed and they won’t get as much funding from the USGA for things like course renovations, sub-air greens systems, etc.
Are there any other Hamptons courses that could split that with Shinnecock? (Pushing their obligation to like every 15 years). There are so many bonafide courses in that area that would be cool to get the exposure, I just have no idea if there are options logistically.
I remember looking at Shinnecock on Google Earth/Maps and looking at the courses nearby and it was one top 100 course after the next
Yes but Not all are USGA type tracks nor would it be for certain their members would want the event or have the space to host it. Maidstone, National Links, Sebonack (has hosted Womens), Fishers Island, Friars Head (Crenshaw).
This. Maidstone would never do it. Nor would NGLA. Friars Head is too far from public transportation. Fishers Island is literally on an island you need to ferry or private jet into. I think Merion gets the call if Shinnecock turns it down.
It has been sitting in a corner of a spare bedroom for months while I've gamed a couple other drivers. 10° with the factory tour 65 shaft. I had no idea what it was worth until researching when Jigga texted about it. Resale on pga value guide is between $145 and $196 with most on ebay asking $200+. I'd ask $175+ shipping, negotiable
Cool. Not a bad deal if it's in great condition. I'd be interested if it were the 8.5 lofted head though.
undrtow oh I might be interested. And I’m local I’ve been thinking of upgrading my G20 for a season or two. I hit the Max and really loved it. How is it compared? Slightly smaller head right? Less ball spin generated via the head? Less forgiving? I can’t remember.
Chez Reavie has holed out for eagle three times today, wtf. From 100 yards, 134 yards and 149 yards His sg: approach is going to be hilarious
Epic Flash starts at $530 retail Wonder what the M5 and M6 will start at...all the manufacturers are continually rising into the higher price points now. Ping staying at $400 with the G400 last year had to help them out; wonder if they keep it at the lower point with the new one
sucked last year getting the 917 and then like 2 months later seeing them release the TS line. anyone play a bettinardi or evnroll putter? decided I wanted to buy a new putter that I might not normally with my fantasy winnings.
At this point I’m thinking you’re ducking me. I was supposed to get a schedule 5 times now and nothing
Update on my trip down south in a couple months. Playing at 4 different places. Callaway Gardens in GA and the rest in Bama. RTJ Grand National and Capitol Hill and also FarmLinks at Pursell Farms. Staying in Auburn.
Kuchar getting worked on twitter for paying a local caddie 3k after winning an event last year when he looped for him
Yep. Got the Judge booked for 18 with an option to play the Senator for our second 18 that day if we're feeling up to it.
