I think he's pretty regular with his poops so she feels comfortable with doing it. His after bath time is super high energy and he loves us chasing him around or chasing us.

That is my normal MO. I can wait for the medicine and diaper rash to be done.

Our kid has had several ear infections but hasn't gotten any diaper rash before, generally the only thing that's happened is the antibiotics have given her diarrhea.

That's how we are too. Luckily have hard woods so not really big deal, she's peed a couple times. I was a little hesitant at first when my wife started doing it but my daughter absolutely loves it. She just runs around like crazy with the biggest smile on her face so I'm all in on it now.

Skin rash is a listed side effect but she has also had diarrhea which I’m sure contributes to it. I recall it happened to our son on this medicine as well.

Yea, she did have 2 epidurals during labor. No meningitis. Diagnosed with pre-eclampsia. Very high blood pressure and elevated enzyme levels in the kidneys. Has to be admitted and held for 24 hours while on medication. Glad she is ok but :rain:

Hey guys. I really could use some input. Our three year old told his teacher that he was gonna shoot her and her baby. I was at a loss and am pretty disheartened. I talked to my fiancé, his mom, and tried to tell her that I think this warranted a trip to a child psychologist. Is that too much? I have no idea what to do and a lot of my friends don’t have kids.

I’d be more concerned about where a 3 year old learned to say that.

He’s got a cousin that he sees at his dads house that his dad watches sometimes that came from a drug addicted family and has a rough life. He’s been teaching him inappropriate things since he was two and we’re gonna have to have a serious convo with our three year olds dad that we don’t want him hanging out with his cousin.

My son had some pretty bad diaper rash a couple of months or so ago. We slathered on the shea butter (keeps the moisture off the skin) and he was much better in a day or two. Now we butter his ass at the first sign of redness and it’s been much better.

Kids that age don’t understand what that means. It isn’t a real threat. I would have a conversation with him to try to figure out where he learned it and tell him we don’t talk like that. I wouldn’t make too big of a deal out of it or he will learn it can get him attention.

Edit: I see that you know and I think that is an appropriate response.

We went to the doctor and they took her off Augmentin because the ear infection is cleared. She also gave us a prescription for a cream that will help seal the surface to protect it from moisture. But if her stomach is less upset, this should be less of a problem.

I think lil man has been fussy due to some teeth breaking in and I'm already having trouble not laughing at his fits. Last night he kept throwing a toy cause he was pissed off and I would immediately put it back in his lap. He then takes it over to the top of the stairs to throw it down cause that's one of his new favorite things to do but it wouldn't fit through the gate bars. Then he threw himself face down onto the carpet in frustration.

just wait till he is old enough to talk/reason and you start to laugh when the throws a fit....then gets pissed when you laugh at him for throwing a fit and throws a bigger fit....and repeat.

My almost 2 year old is in the mine stage and she’s determined that the cat is trying to get her stuff. Anytime the cat walks by anything of hers or she’s playing with she picks it up and hugs it then says, “no Pinky (cat), mine”. Then about 50% of the time she’ll throw it somewhere afterwards.

Little guy turns 7 weeks tomorrow. He was an angel for the first 5ish weeks but over the past week he has been crying like crazy whenever he isn’t being held. I’m not a fan of letting him cry indefinitely, but what’s the best protocol?

Battling baby’s first cold. Horrendous sleep for all involved last night.

Anyone have any tips on this? Sounds like there’s not much you can really do. She’s not eating or sleeping well because of her congestion which seems like a self-reinforcing loop for a cranky baby.

Only thing you can really try is a humidifier. My mom always talks about putting Vicks on a baby's foot and putting socks on. Tried with our first a few times, didn't seem to work but figured I'd mention it.

    Good times this weekend.

My brother has birthday party for his 2 foster kids Sunday(they were born days apart so they just combine them). Saturday one of his kids comes down with the flu but they still decide to have the party. We tell them we aren't going as we dont want to bring it to our house. Brother says he's not pissed(but you can tell he's actually pissed) that we aren't coming. My kids are very upset that we aren't going and don't understand(2 and 5). We make due by having a family movie day.

I wake up in the middle of the night puking my guts out anyway. FML.

I had friends send their kids to the Casa de Corazon at 50th & France and they liked it. I know there is a second one on Nicollet near 40th too. I'm assuming Jardin is similar to that but I'm not familiar with it. I also had friends that loved Step by Step montessori school just south of 62 between France and Xerxes.

I just want to scream she has had 10 episodes in the last two days, 2 in the pediatrician' s office. Full on color change, lips turning blue, looks like she is choking. Until her cardiologist appt in 2 weeks there is nothing we can do, they can't explain them, taking her to Children's would just rack up a bill but accomplish nothing because they already ran the gambit of tests. It could be pseudo-seizures, reflux problems , her heart or she is just randomly holding her breath but this is such a helpless feeling that might be here until she out grows them. We have videoed several

Just a tough waiting game, it reminds me of when I started with my chronic migraines and I just was running around blind afraid my neuros/Drs would just get frustrated and dismiss me. I don't want us to look like we are crying wolf. Which to anyone that hasn't seen them in person we sound like overreacting first time parents.

If anyone has an idea please share it with us waiting till she grows out of it is going to be hell if that is our only choice .

Breastfeeding is not going well as we begin day 4. How common is it to run exclusively with formula?

Is this your first? It takes some time to build up milk, after about a month my wife just switched to exclusively pumping and we mixed it with formula which is better than nothing (breast milk contains helpful antibodies). Our first pediatrician was adamant that only a baby suckling on a nipple will stimulate an increase in breast milk production but we found pumping every couple of hours, even if she didn't have much, really helped kick it up.

Yeah. And she had a c section. The little guy just isn't getting enough. She tried to pump and not much came out. We've been using a supplemental formula for the last day. Maybe the faucets will turn on soon

My wife had a C-section as well and went through the same thing. Get him to suckle tons because that's what will help get her body to understand to increase the supply. That being said if it becomes way too stressful for y'all there's nothing wrong with switching to formula, don't let people pressure you or guilt trip you too much, there's too many annoying naturalistic breast feeding moms out there that think it's the end of the world if you give formula which is bs.

We got lucky because momma was overflowing with milk and we finally switched to formula after 4 months because momma couldn't keep up with the demand.
