I mean, there’s a lot more to it, but you’re not entirely wrong. You get invested in the story though, and the that bit of formula doesn’t wear on you in the least.
Spoiler You can go around the map and find the burial spot of every one of the gang that died. You get a medal for finding them all. I found the tutorial on YouTube. There's no way in hell I would have stumbled upon any of them otherwise. Sadly, no tombstone for my horse. RIP Cliff. My boy.
Spoiler There was an eagle perched on Arthur's headstone that flew off when I got there. When aiming at it, the "reticle" didn't turn red (can't shoot at it).
Spoiler I'm really fucking mad that I've read spoilers here and now know that Dr. Gregory Horse is gonna bite the dust.
I don't like when the treasure isn't where it’s supposed to be. I found a map in a cottage and went to where X marks the spot. It wasn’t there. I tried several days later and still nothing. I died in the cemetery in Saint Demis and respawned in a mausoleum. I hit dead eye and can see a sign that I can interact with but it won’t let me. Anyone know what this is?
Hey man the outlaw life is a life on the run Spoiler but you’re right to some extent. Some chapters are like that and some are structured differently. It’s the missions depth and catalyst for expose/escape in most chapter that’s makes the game great. Story telling and character building in this game is so great it doesn’t feel like it devolves into a redundant cycle at all
The variety of surroundings is great though. Starting from snowy mountainous region to now being in swamps and Saint Denis, just an incredible job. Game never ceases to be astounding from an environmental perspective.
Don’t think any game will top Witcher 3 as my favorite game of this console generation but man Red Dead 2 made a run at it. I was lukewarm on red dead 1, this game blew it out of the water. Nothing felt redundant, nothing felt tedious, every character mattered
As someone who just now unlocked fast travel, it should’ve been available much earlier I understand trying to steer players more towards exploration, but the fucking debt collecting missions got me going out to bum fuck Egypt get annoying
still get excited everytime there's a storm. gf happened to be watching last night when a storm came in right as a bad ass mission in Ch6 started and stormed throughout Spoiler prison break I got a little too excited. she was impressed with the storm+mission though on her first time seeing the game. glad she saw that and doesn't know that I spent so many hours following white lines through trees
I can count on one hand how often I used fast travel. Eventually, it’s just as easy to cinematic ride to the closest town and ride the train/coach.
Yeah I rarely used fast travel. So much awesome and random stuff happens between towns or missions. Turn on auto ride and just enjoy the details. I'm an ornitholgist and this game just blew me out of the water with the miniscule details in the wildlife. Fucking incredible
I haven’t used fast travel but it’s also taken me nearly 3 months to make it halfway through chapter 3. I completely and totally understand the opinion that this game is boring. As remarkable as it is, it’s like taking a fistful of ambien sometimes
I quit playing for a couple months then plowed through chapter 3. By the time 4 came around I was fully invested. It takes time to get going but once it does its incredible storywise and you'll appreciate it a lot more than now.
I believe you. I really like the game so I don’t want it to seem like I’m complaining. Interesting cast of characters and tons of stuff to divert my attention to.. just seems like I get caught up in the diversions and then fall asleep
What you need is someone to make you a plan to finish the game. Have some faith in their plan. If you just stick to the plan you'll be in paradise by the end of the game. After just one more big score.
Anyone play through both good and evil Arthur? Wonder how different the cut scenes play out. Also watched the evil Arthur ending....no such a picturesque end
I've played through twice but don't remember any of the other cut scene besides the ending. I do remember Ms. Grimshaw constantly telling me to stop being a piece of shit with evil Arthur tho. Spoiler Went back for the money like a dumbass the first time when I had good Arthur. Had to watch Micah walk away with a bag of money while I laid there dying. Went with John when I had evil Arthur and got a hole blasted in my face by Micah on top of the mountain. Still haven't seen that beautiful sunrise.
Spoiler Is there any difference with what happens between Arthur and Strauss? Does he still kick him out even if he's evil?
On my evil Arthur playthrough, I'd really like the option to stage a coup and shoot Dutch in, like, chapter 3.
Aight ima cut it on and plow through some story Spoiler until I see the prompt for a legendary fish in the area anyway
Not much to do with your posse right now that is worth while. I've only run story missions with 2-3 in the posse as I think they are 4 person missions. We basically just hope there is another posse in a city and go turn it into a warzone.
Word. Yea once you get over 4 people it's just running around playing the weak pink people missions. hopefully that's another change they make because you can't even start yellows with 5 people, someone has to leave. at a minimum let the leader of the posse pick his 3 accomplices. only way to get decent money and level up is team deathmatches at this point. they better hurry up and put it out before D2 comes out in march
