This is our time to go hard after free agents. Our best players are almost exclusively on rookie deals and they'll all need paid in a few years.
Ford will get the franchise tag. Probably a 30% chance Justin Houston gets cut but the the chiefs actually have cap space to franchise ford and still be a player in free agency
17. CLEVELAND BROWNS – CHRISTIAN WILKINS, DI, CLEMSON The Browns have more strides to make along the defensive line and Wilkins added to his game in 2018 as he ranked third with a 91.1 pass-rush grade to go with his usual exceptional play against the run.
Kiper has us taking Jeffery Simmons in his mock, good pick imo. Other guys still there at that pick that fit some of our needs: Greg Little Devin Bush AJ Brown Byron Murphy Hollywood Brown Montez Sweat Dexter Lawrence Christian Wilkins DreMont Jones
if jeffrey simmons is there at 17 he's gonna be real hard to pass up. Byron Murphy is probably a close second. i love hollywood brown a lot. would love him on browns, but i struggle to see how we could take him over any of those defensive playmakers on that list.
Murphy is really growing on me too. If all those guys were there I’d probably rank them: 1. Simmons 2. Murphy 3. Bush
Random question for you guys. I’m meeting up with some good friends from college for one of their 40th birthdays in a couple weeks and the birthday boy is a big Browns fan after going to Case Western for med school (grew up in Saudi Arabia so didn’t have a team as a kid and went to high school on east coast, now practices in Georgia). I’m planning on getting him something Browns-related and am trying to find a good place to purchase a gift or two. I checked homage this weekend, but seems like there’s a licensing issue and they don’t have anything that say Browns. And I’ve seen a couple decent Shake & Bake and other Mayfield shirts online, so those could be good options to consider. But I also wanted to see if any of you guys can point me somewhere that may not show up via a simple google search. He’s also an OSU fan (we’ve even gone to a couple games together), so homage is still an option, but I’d prefer looking for something Browns-related first. Thanks in advance
I couldn't help yesterday but think about how I would react if what happened to New Orleans yesterday happened to us. That would be the most painful loss in my lifetime. I'll be an idiot during games if we ever make the playoffs with any sort of consistency
Thanks, I thought about that, just know he has at least 1 browns jerseys already, if not 2. I’ll check with his wife. Regardless, will def look into a Mayfield jersey
I’ve found fanatics has a pretty good selection of stuff. Could also try: CLE Clothing Co. https://cleclothingco.myshopify.com/ Or GV Artwork https://gvartwork.com/
Thank you sir! I’ll check both out later tonight or in the morning, need to make a purchase over next couple days
Cliffs: - OL a priority - Kareem Hunt in play Spoiler Tony Pauline (640) 35 months Reply Quote John Dorsey was very active today. A lot of notes- some which won't make many happy based on the response from last week. 1- I was once again told the Browns are looking interior offensive line in the off season. As someone told me if they don't fill their wants in free agency "their first pick in the draft will be an offensive lineman." This was a completely different source from a week ago. The name of Elgton Jenkins, who looked great in practice today, was mentioned to me. As the source told me "Dorsey wants to build inside out and wants a better center." I should have more by the end of the week. 2- Sitting in front of the Browns at practice I heard from the decision maker he intends to "get bigger in the secondary" during the off season, including the draft. 3- On the Kareem Hunt situation: A- I have been told Dorsey is lobbying hard to sign Kareem Hunt and really wants him. B- the rumor is Hunt has an agreement in place with a team- i was not told in any shape or form it is the Browns. C- there are some who believe bringing Hunt to Cleveland, the place where he got into trouble (though after the fact) would not be a good move. These are people connected to the team. I definitely don't understand OL being a bigger priority than DT...unless they have a plan to address DT in free agency.
I certainly disliked the Saints of all the teams left in the playoffs but that was bullshit. One of my former coworkers is a saints fan and moved back to NO. Bet them to win the SB in Vegas last year and was at the game. Dude is a good enough guy to put on a happy face, but I for sure would have let him reach out to me after that game. I’m not talking to another buddy the ribbed him right after the game on text and kept going after no response. I want to break his fucking neck. He’s a fucking Colts fan and went full TMB and the guy isn’t even a cunt Saints fan. If it happened to the Browns and it was our one chance, Jack would lack surprise.
I’ll believe they’re taking an interior lineman with their first pick when I see it. Much like everything with Dorsey, I trust he’ll make the right move though.
Interior OL and RB being priorities makes absolutely zero sense. maybe depth for RB, but that's certainly not a sufficient justification for targeting hunt. would be pretty stunned if that report was accurate
I don't understand bringing in Hunt. That's an area of very little need, and bringing him in has huge down side. I know one of his college coaches, and one of the things he said about the incident in the hotel was that he was hanging out with some shitheads, kids from his college team and from high school. Seems like bringing him to Cleveland just draws more of that to him, and opens more possibility for issues. Maybe you just have to be mature enough not to hang out with people who are trouble. That, or just not hit women.
Willoughby South is a pretty decent school and football program. If anything, his college experience is where he flowered into full-bloom jackass. I’m not absolving his friends back home and saying they’re not factor, but Kareem is a fucking idiot and the main reason for that is...well, Kareem.
