That dab is the kind of thing you can only do before you take your first bite so you don't know how bad you fucked up until it's too late.
What a wild ride Sean Evans has been on. Hopefully someone capable and worthy will interview him one day.
Is Gordon Ramsey that big a deal? I know he wanted him for a long time, but I don’t see him as some white whale
Fucking yikes. Relax. Sorry I asked a question to someone who thought getting Ramsey meant the guest ceiling now expanded to Obama. Sheesh
There are several guests that are more famous or bigger gets than Gordon Ramsey. He's obviously very famous relative to food but not nearly as famous overall compared to some of the other guests. Like Kevin Durant, Seth Rogen, Michael Cera, Tyra Banks, Michael B. Jordan, Charlize Theron, John Mayer, or Natalie Portman off the top of my head. Definitely not a higher tier of celebrity than most of those.
Just watched the Ramsay trailer and I’m ready to run through a wall...let’s fucking goooooo (eat some super spicy wings)!!!
for visibility and pure celebrity in the cooking world, Gordon reigns supreme so this is an enormous score. the fact they got him to do a bit for the trailer is really impressive. the guest ceiling is only growing, honestly. he has cooking stars, comedians, musicians, Oscar-winning movie stars, pitching this show to an agent must be immeasurably easier now and it has immense popularity amongst the 18-35 demo so it really probably just comes down to finding people who have a little toughness (or think they do) and/or the ability to make a bit of a fool of themselves as the heat makes them suffer.
He's bigger than rogen and Cera I would say. Dude is an albatross of a celebrity tbh. I mean, despite the fact that they're always eating wings the show doesn't really have much to do with "food," and the teaser for his appearance has 4.4 million views.
He's definitely ultra famous for a chef and even a celebrity chef but I'm not sure he's more well known or better recognized than those two A list movie stars. Either way, you're right that the show isn't really about food. As Sean has said a couple times, it's an interview show built around hot wings. Not a hot wings show with an interview. All in all, the episode was great and Ramsey was great so it was well worth the wait and build up. Can't wait to see who else they have on this season.
