Lol the “trans-Atlantic history lesson” was hilarious. And he’s right. The need to make everyone out to be a victim is tiresome.
Old School rewatchables was great. Love when Zach Lowe is on the Simmons podcast because he doesn’t let Bill say wild stuff and agree like Ringer employees do. Against all odds had Geoff Schwartz on. Honestly a good week all around, helped my 7 hour drive today.
He is 100 percent right. These dudes get paid to play sports. That’s awesome. Shiism they get paid more ? Yeah, they should. But it’s not a major issue.
It’s absolutely a major issue. Probably why MLB spends so much time, effort, and money to ram through legislation to keep it that way.
He's right about Murray. Especially if he gets a major league deal as part of choosing baseball. If he's talking about all minor leaguers, I get the premise that it's not "indentured servants," but minor league pay is criminally terrible and MLB should be ashamed of the steps it has taken to keep it the way it is (like last year, when it spent millions lobbying congress to push through legislation to do so).
Ryan doing a Wilson to Harrison Ford comparison was atrocious and glad he was getting made fun of for it. I agree with Celemo in that they learned from the Wedding Crashers pod not to talk about whether the plot would be socially acceptable in the current landscape. Made it a much better podcast than Wedding Crashers.
It is what Haralabob said, and what Bill himself said about Donovan Mitchell. Tatum was supposed to be immune for some reason
Yeah when Bill spouts his nonsense on Jayson Tatum having more trade value than anyone in league history or Brown being a better Paul George no employee of his has the balls to call it for what it is.
Makes me wonder if the ringer employs too many ppl afraid of him, or if Simmons is actually a prick who would seek retribution.
ryan and fennessey mock him quite a bit on rewatchables i think most of them just treat his celtics nonsense like the talk radio/old man nonsense that it is and ignore it
Some do make fun of him every once in a while. KOC and Vernon made fun of Simmons for saying he wanted to create the 27-7-7 club for Lebron minutes after dogging Westbrook for triple-doubles. Simmons slurping over Tatum was always going to backfire on him. He’s a good player. But Simmons is acting like he’s a future MVP. I think his ceiling is Melo. Don’t think he has the playmaking ability of Lebron and Harden that leads to MVP type seasons.
also not one mention of the phantom roughing the passer call on Brady in the entire hour and a half podcast. Sal is hilarious but man is he a fucking coward.
I think bills filtering of kyles stories makes Bill the douche. I assume it’s shit kyle otherwise wouldn’t share, because the stories are lame unless you’re friends with him.
Kyle got a tattoo of One Shining Podcast on his shoulder and tweeted it....don't think it's Bill's filtering.
What a brutal interview. Stop acknowledging there’s a problem with the platform you’ve created and offer at least one viable path forward.
the Fast & the Furious Rewatchables was kinda meh for me. I've only seen the first one like 2-3 times so I didn't get some of the shit they talk about in re: to the other F&F movies. I do think its funny that Bill brings in Shea Serrano on lower tier movies that Fennessey and Ryan have no interest in talking about. Not really jazzed for "Proof of Life", only saw it once when it first came out and its not streaming on any of the services I subscribe to
Ryan and Fennessy can get snobby. Proof of Life is average but Ryan probably thinks he is too good for F&F. I agree though on the F&F one. I think they left a lot of meat on the bone in that one.
They were on the Old School and Step Brothers episodes. I don't think they think they're too good for Fast and Furious.
That is true but I think the comedies are looked upon more favorably than the more action cheesy movies. I’ll concede to your argument though. Those two also have other podcasts they have to do as well.
