Yeah I think it’s basically been confirmed. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...-star-dt-sheldon-rankins-tore-achilles-tendon
There's a rams thread somewhere on the board. The LA guys post in it. It's mostly Rams uber fan Daniel Ocean There are a few people in STL that still root for them. A couple of my friends still do.
It's really hard to beat a team twice in one year, and we're going to have to do it twice to make the Super Bowl. Through Breesus anything is possible, though.
Pre/post Lattimore 1st pick Pre-pick Eagles 20 plays, 169 yards Saints 10 plays, 21 yards Eagles 14, Saints 0 Post-pick Eagles 27 plays, 81 yards Saints 61 plays 399 yards Saints 20, Eagles 0 Also due to penalties, the saints 1st drive of the 2nd half was 161 yards
Saw this several times while watching college basketball last night: Is it an omen? I don't know. But I do know that I Brees so much, and this commercial makes me feel like.
The refs fucked us big time. A blown call that bad should be a fireable offense. Or at least send the fucker down to ref Canadian football or lingerie league or something.
So the 49ers playoff game at the end of 2011 is no longer my biggest missed opportunity. This isn’t as bad as the Falcons blowing the Super Bowl after leading 28-3 though
I mentioned in the game thread, but I feel worse this year than I did last year. It may be recency bias, but last year we screwed up our chance. This year, we didn't play perfectly, but we did enough to win the game at the end, only to have it taken from us by a horribly-missed call. It feels bad. I know he wasn't perfect, but how many more of these chances are we gonna get with Brees? Once he's gone, I fear that we're going to slide back into mediocrity unless we just get lucky with another QB. Even this year, Brees had an MVP-like season and got us the number one seed, despite having a bunch of scrubs (other than Thomas, M.) to catch his passes for most games. But after almost 15 seasons with Brees and only three NFC championship appearances, I feel we have underachieved. I'm not a smart football guy, so that may be unreasonable. In any event, I'm glad we took advantage and got New Orleans and Brees a ring in 2010. I hate that Benjamin Watson will finish his career without playing in and winning a Super Bowl. He seems like such a good guy, and he's been clutch for us. At least he got a ring with the Pats and played in another though.
Brees is 40 now. You never know when a QB will hit a wall once they get to that age. We're probably fucked.
Nah we’ll find something else when Brees comes off the books. Not going to get anything worth a shit picking in the back of the 1st round or just trading away your top picks every year. We’ll have to take a QB in 2020 and trade up to do it.
The lack of not having a TE or a legit #2 combined with the best DL in football had something to do with that, but Brees did miss a couple throws. Also had plenty of great ones too (back shoulder to TE in endzone that was dropped comes to mind)
