Just upgraded to airpods. While I do really like the functionality, I would prefer the feel to be more like the conical rubber ear insert buds, but that is just me probably.
Just upgraded to the XS from the 7 and love it so far, glad I did it. Anyone have any strong opinions on wireless chargers? There's a Mophie 2-pack on Amazon for only $54 while the single unit shown on Apple's site is $40
I have a Mophie I keep on my desk at work and really like it. I’ve had it since I got my 8 a couple years ago and have had zero issues.
Anyone have issues with the podcast app just randomly unsubscribing from podcasts? Mine will just willy nilly decide that I shouldn’t be subscribed to stuff anymore. And it’s pods I listen to, not stuff that I’m bypassing. So weird.
My fitbit just died and I'm thinking of going back to Apple watch out of spite. Anyone have a good sleep tracking app? That was my biggest complaint the last time I had an apple watch.
I use sleep cycle. They have a beta program that adds HR monitoring. It uses your phone microphone to track sleeping. Uses watch for HR only. I’ve literally tracked almost 2000 nights. Which seems sad
Opened up my app, no sleep recorded since the 18th, the last time I started it before bed, So I would say that it doesn't pick it up.
Pillow free tracks my HR and paid version allows for nor iPhone tracking. Only thing I’ve seen in the two weeks is that I only have like 8 out of 14 days tracked. Not sure why. It’s supposed to put it up, but looks like only has done it half the time. Also looks like I can go back and look at past days without paying.
The not being automatic is probably a deal breaker for me unfortunately. Think there's an app called automatic that I'll try.
It has automatic with the watch, it looks like it didn’t record on days when I had a looser band on. Sleep++ is automatic, just very simple in it’s information.
Tried Pillow out for the first time last night, app automatically detected sleep/wake. The results are very interesting and seem to be pretty accurate.
Are there any good apps out there that will wake you up when you are at your lightest sleep? I awsn't sure if that was tied into Pillow somehow. I am notorious for hitting the snooze for at least 30mins before I get up. i.e. I want to wake up at 6, but I don't get out of bed til 630.
When I was reading about sleep apps yesterday a bunch of them mentioned this feature. Don't recall the specific ones but there are a bunch of articles that come up on google.
Pretty sure the paid version of pillow has it. Sleep cycle does, but looked at that yesterday and it’s $30/yr.
I turned my Pillow on to automatic last night, and it did not detect my sleep last night. I'll try it again tonight. Are you guys reopening the app as you get in bed or something?
right airpod isn't nesting in the case right, so it doesn't charge. I've cleaned both the airpod and the case and it's a little better but still not great. Heading to the apple store. Hope it's covered under warranty
I’ve been using sleep cycle for a few years now. It gives you a few ranges (10,15,20,etc) from the time you set your alarm for the wake up phase. I’ve been happy with it. It’s also interesting to go back and see your sleep habits and how they affect your sleep quality.
It was still running in the background when I got into bed, but my phone wasn't on with the app open. It looks like they suggest it though. Your watch was on right? Make sure its not too loose.
I never close apps out of background. While typing this I scanned through, and i had 39 apps still in background. My watch was on, and was at same notch as it has always been on when using Pillow. 1 more notch is tight enough to be annoying.
I am about to set up a new iPad that my daughter will use. Up to this point my wife and I shared a photos library. I have an issue with how big it is and I can’t do anything on my iMac. I need to make a move regardless but I want to assess my setup. Can you have different phones/iPads back up to separate photo libraries or is that a bad move? Often times we share photos/videos and there are duplicates on our phones so I’m worried that would chew up storage even faster.
You can't back up photo libraries that are on iCloud. They are just syncing the photos. You can only sync to one library at a time, which is determined by the apple id you are signed into. Your best bet is to just use separate apple ids for everyone and then created a shared album that you can add stuff to.
Thinking I may keep the current setup but just take the old library off to a backup drive and create a new one
If you're going to do that, make sure you turn off iCloud photo library first so it downloads them to the mac and then once that completes you can move that library to an external.
