Team TW3 has traaaaaaash combat. In a post-souls world you cant be the best anything of any period of time with combat that is literal cancer. Fun story. Engaging story even, and i say that about zero games. Gwent sucks. Side quests are either pointless because they dont give enough xp or pointless because you are so overlevelled from doing the main story. If 95% of available xp comes from the main story everything else is irrelevant. Its a solid 7/10.
Although I agree with your take on the actual value of side quests in TW3 the value really isn’t the point. The side quests in TW3 shine because the VAST majority of them are fun and interesting. It’s probably the GOAT when it comes to side quests that feel thoughtful and engaging
Yeah it’s starting to become a cop out for games. I feel like there’s a better way to hunt in RDR2 than having to use Witcher sense
Just finished Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Best gameplay of the series but I thought the story was a tad underwhelming. Original reboot still the best.
They were on the right track when Cory Barlog was there. Once he went back to Sony Santa Monica the series just hasn't been the same.
I really enjoyed TW3’s combat, having to research each unique creature and preparing before battling. FWIW I haven’t played HZD and have only watched someone else play the tutorial portion when you’re young.
Its not the best combat in gaming but it is more than adequate and combined with the amazing level of detail and the story it makes my favorite experience this generation. Which is saying something because there have been some phenomenal games in the last few years.
There are certain devs I trust enough to pre order. That said it's usually the night before so I can download it.
i usually wait till a week or so before launch, and like Aussie it's mostly so i can download early and get the bonuses.
Can't tell you the last time I've ever cared about one of the big 3 game reviews. You can find way less biased, much more detail oriented reviews from people on YouTube.
Doesn’t matter a bit? If I’m buying something off jump, I like to know that the major reviews have positive feedback. If I wait on something, I trust friends. Sometimes though my friends make me play monster hunter
Hey man I’m part of the package. I’m the witty friend with a drinking problem. You can’t have a proper group of friends w/o that guy
Most of the reviewers I watch release their stuff before it comes out. You still have to find ones that are willing to give their actual opinions, even if it means they'll step on some toes. Probably my favorite one is ACG
Maybe I’m retarded but it may have the clumsiest combat of any game I’ve ever played. Maybe I just need to really just play the fuck out of it and everything will come together but I get so frustrated with the combat after about 20 minutes that I’m ready to throw my PlayStation in the tub and bathe with it
I found the combat fairly clunky myself. It's also a game based around hunting loot and I hate their art style and the look of their loot so it's just not for me.
Finished HZD base game last night, only a little way into Frozen Wilds. Loved it, especially the story, graphics, and combat. Aloy’s a great character, would be down for more games with her. Got a little ways into Hellblade, want to finish that, then go back for HZD Ultra Hard.
Frozen Wilds really seems to up the difficulty. I forget the name of that new enemy they introduced but he was a pain in the ass.
Been playing witcher again the last couple week. Finally up to lvl 11. This game is going to take me until summer to finish.
I like his other channel he does with his brother where they just rant about all the bullshit devs and publishers get up to.
My brother has rdr2. If I buy it can we play cowboys together? Would I have to buy a ps plus subscription or something to play the online version of the game?
Maybe a quarter of the way through HZD on Ultra Hard Mode. I didn't do New Game+ for it and boy, does that make things tough.
Things I want in PS5 5TB minimum hard drive space and still able to add an external. Games are starting to be 90-100 GB on the regular so a 500 GB or 1TB wont work anymore. My biggest complaint about ps4 (along with no BC) was storage space at launch. The ideal option would be cloud gaming, but that would mean the US would have to get its head out of its ass with regard to catching up to the rest of the world in internet speed. Not happening anytime soon, honestly. Controllers in general need a major upgrade. There hasn't been much in the way of controller evolution since the addition of the analog sticks. The touchpad was a nice start, but it has been largely ignored by developers. It's only use is to pull up menus and maps. The back of the controller needs to be utilized somehow. Base controller more along the lines of a SCUF would be cool with me
