these fuckers tricked me with this album cover. it's like late 70s rock, not vektor/imperialist style stuff. still pretty good
whenever fuckers in the bar are playing Free Bird for the millionth time, i wish touchtunes had stuff like it
That gritty spaceship art makes me want new Vektor. It's too bad that the main dude apparently makes people hate him almost as much as the Faceless guy
I'm like halfway through it, and it's solid. I don't know anything about the mixing/mastering process other than how it sounds when it gets to me, but it's like someone pushed the balance slider 20% to the right. It's minor but it's kind of driving me nuts that my right ear is louder and has a bunch more shit going on in it. it could just be the rip I'm listening to
Lets do this! 01. Death Metal 02. Thrash Metal 03. Doom Metal 04. Speed/Traditional Metal 05. Stoner Metal 06. Black Metal 07. Power Metal 08. Progressive Metal 09. Gothic Metal 10. Glam Metal Whipped this up on Ambien but I doubt I missed anything important (maybe Industrial). Grindcore, Groove and Sludge can fuck off. Viking/Folk hasn't done anything interesting in over a decade.
Don't get excited, Megadeth had nothing to do with it. Ha! I'm shocked you don't listen to a wider range of thrash. I'm also shocked Joe_Pesci hasn't gotten wasted off two Busch Light's and posted his power rankings yet.
Not sure how this will go over in the channel, but I love this band. Their last full length called Air is great. Looking forward to this new one.
Can they fill Hawthorne? I've always seen them as a small band that would play in some tiny bar. Nevermind, just googled and saw they released a youtube video a few months back that has a half million hits.
No offense pesc, but Symphony X wipes the floor with Dream Theater. New X is overdue, going on 4 years now.
Give me the Mastodon song We even know the title: Fallen Torches And everyone who's heard it said it was heavy like leviathan
I haven’t listened to heavy metal music in a while. Give me your top 3 non growling metal bands to check out.
I meant like the deep death metal growl. But I guess my 3 favorite all time would be Metallica, dream theater, and pantera. Was really into it during the early 2000s so a lot of bands like killswitch, lamb of god type shit. They’re about as heavy vocally I prefer. But I’m always down to hear heavier stuff if it’s good.
I like guitar harmonies quite a bit. I enjoyed this song even though it’s a little slower than I usually listen to. Thanks.
burnttatertot have you read this book? mid-way through it, pretty good so far. love the quotes from the artists involved in the early scene.
It's a link to the Amazon page for "Swedish Death Metal" authored by Daniel Ekeroth (of Usurpress). The cover looks like this:
