weird re: g2 that y'all were hyped up about it. i have the grant stream and mason and co. made it clear that eg had the game pretty clearly after ~20 minutes. basically after TB died x2 trying to rush rosh. EG always had the late game. same thing with g3 now. EG def has this game. this grant/mason/cap stream is great.
Crit is so much better as a game changing 4 than he was at 5. Fly is a great captain too. If they can get some confidence and gel more they will be just fine.
EG has won 4 lower bracket matches in a row and knocked out 3 straight Chinese teams. The absolute units. Also next week they are resetting ranking next week, time to lose 10 straight mid Earth Spirit games.
Also kinda funny there's a last second showmatch between wings and liquid between the LBF and GF. Could it be any more obvious of a "Please crowd, show up tomorrow" move?
I caved and reinstalled to try out auto chess. 500K dota players online rn, 71K are playing this custom game
They did a pretty imbalanced patch yesterday but it was fixed today. Game is so good. G2 against LGD was nuts last night.
Yeah I can see the appeal. Got 5th place in my first game literally not knowing anything. About 5 rounds in I google the hero tier list and that helped, Razor and SF were pretty OP. Seems like you need at least 1 solid tank and then just shit loads of DPS. Made the mistake of playing What's the hotkey to open and close the buy hero panel? I would buy a hero, close it, then not know how to open it again without hitting D to reroll heroes. Also what's the point of buying EXP?
So you get race and type bonuses. Need to keep that in mind. Just do a spreadsheet google for auto chess. A tank is good and needed though I’ve seen 9 assassins wreck. You can open the chess pieces by clicking on the chess grouping at the top left. I still haven’t figured out that hotkey. Experience allows you to level up and add another unit to your chess board. There’s a heavy economic balance to the game too. You don’t want to spend a lot of time rerolling early game because you’re going to need to save that money. You get 10% of your existing money at the beginning of each round up to $5 so if you can get to 50 and bank you’ll be set up well for late game. You also get money bonuses for win streaks and lose streaks. I’ve only won once but got a bunch of top 3s. I won with a mech/knight/goblin/aoe blend.
Finished second game. Yeah, I can see why this is so incredibly popular. Actually very easy to learn, probably insanely difficult to master. I don't have a ranking yet, do you know how long that takes to get one? Race/type bonuses matter a lot right? I kept getting wrecked by 2 guys who basically played all Knights. After 2 games I feel like I understand basics/mechanics, but need to learn race/types and hero tiers better. I alt-tab a lot to peak at lists, still can't do that well in 25 seconds plus buying shit. I rarely get above 20-30 gold, is that bad?
Like 5-6 games. I came in at Knight 3. The ELO is weird though. You move up and down pretty rapidly. So race and type bonuses are everything. You can see them in game as they’re listed as the typical skills you would see on a regular hero. So I basically don’t reroll until I’m at 6 or 7 units. Even if you lose a few rounds you’re taking like a max of 8-10 damage worst case where you don’t kill any of their units. It helps significantly as you transition from mid game to late game.
Ok ok ok eco is really important. Just won my first game with 7 warriors + SF and TB (you can have 2 demon right?) and just having better units end game. Like I was in last place with like 77% early then won like 8 in a row or something
Yep. Exactly. It’s vital late game to try and turn your twos into threes. Massive difference. There’s still a lot of RNG with items though.
granted i didn't see g1 but it seems like their draft is fine? TB has beaten jugg most of the tourney and tusk and lich are two of the best 4s and 5s in the meta. they just took two bad fights (top, when sumail died to omni and rtz didnt come to the fight) and at shrine (when rtz was cliffed and then fucked up his bkb tp) and lost. honestly, if rtz is at the shrine instead of near the cliff, they probably win that fight or at least trade and eventually win that game. secret only had ~10 min left. also, s4 is garbage imo. and eg ppd when?
On further review, not sure I like DotaChess that much, the RNG is killer. Some games you try to go a certain way and the RNG just prevents you from getting any heroes.
-Vlads rekt again :( -Could see 4 pos. CK being a thing and going aghs in some lineups now. Could be nasty with a carry venge or morph. -Zeus :0
I haven't tried it but reading it it sounded like during his (now short) ulti you have unobstructed vision of the entire map.
Also in 3 games I have had a meepo booster on my team, a huge smurf, and an intentional thrower on the other team. I am going to calibrate too high : l
Also I’m intentionally throwing 10 games because I am definitely not good enough to be 3.2K like I ended up last season
-750 MMR here I come woo! Actually game #1 last night I had 17 deaths as Lion but we still won because my carry and mid were amazing :( Threw my next 2 as clock, so only 1-2 so far. Hopefully I go 1-9.
IO and LS win rates +7%, Ursa +5%, Visage and NS +5% Slark and Drow nerfed pretty hard. PL nearly dumpster tier now. Strength heroes in general mostly all got buffed
