I’ve said it several times ITT. Cap sacrifices himself into the Soul World for Tony to be able to wield the Soul Stone (you have to sacrifice someone you love, which closes their relationship positively after Civil War), and one of the after credits is Cap in the Soul World walking into the dance hall. I feel like it’s too perfect for it not to happen. Which means it probably won’t, and the Russo’s will show me why I’m not writing MCU movies.
Dr. Strange has climbed in my rankings after multiple rewatches lately. Good script, great actors, and haven’t blown their wad on Dormammu. And, Strange is fantastic in IW.
popped an edible for spiderverse went in and at first i was like...this aight but definitely overhyped. then the action and visual effects kicked in that was visually BEAUTIFUL trippy AF the end credits animation had me laughing...like they're just showing off now
Feels like he’s the key to this whole thing. He saw all of the potential outcomes of battling with Thanos and essentially threw the Infinity War battle by giving up the time stone to keep Stark alive (also sacrificing himself). “It was the only way.”
Spider verse is my favorite film right now, but watching Civil War right now...the CA films are on another level. The story, fights, acting, writing is phenomenal
Black Panther won the SAG award for best cast in a motion picture tonight. The award has a ~50% correlation to the eventual Oscar Best Picture winner.
I loved it the first time I saw it at the cinema. Cumberbatch was superb in the lead role, the use of humor was bang on, and the SFX were some of the best I have ever seen. The film gets a bit of grief for the bad guy but, c'mon, it's Mads frickin' Mikkelson - he can do no wrong. Probably in my top 5, just below Ragnarok, A:IW and Winter Soldier.
Just reminded of that weird movie where ScarJo was in Scotland but was like an alien or demon or something seducing and abducting Scottish dudes. I was on marijuanas when I saw it, might need to do a sober rewatch.
She's be the best character for it, of the ones they have licensing for. I'm a little skeptic it'll happen, but it does make sense.
So the guy that wrote the first shitty Dark Phoenix movie wrote/directed another shitty Dark Phoenix movie. What are the odds?
It would be a big missed opportunity for Disney to have a female role model movie for the young girl market they love to shoot for
none of these movies will be rated R. Sony and Fox will be the only studios to get a R rated film when it comes to anything Marvel....if Marvel allows it. If Marvel goes R, then it's desperate in general with box offices shrinking. But a R rated Female Lead film might be a great move.... Also, people COULD be exhausted of the universe.
And I would just remind you all that there’s a pretty intense conversation in AoU where BW talks about being sterilized, could just be the subject material is dark
In which case they'd still push for a hard PG13. Deadpool is one thing but I don't see Disney agreeing to an R-rated "solo Avengers" movie.
Is that a thing? I figured they wouldn’t due to it not being a Disney property and cost of commercial space.
Disney usually has a couple trailers during Super Bowl. There was an IW trailer last year but it didn’t really show any new footage from the first trailer. Spider-man would be a Sony decision.
I remember seeing a GotG1 trailer during the Super Bowl and thinking it was the greatest thing I've ever seen.
nothing announced for trailers, and everyone expects that there won't be many trailers on Sunday. Star Wars and Avengers don't need the SB to release their trailer. It's an event in itself. But, i'm sure we'll see some summer movie trailers
I feel like one of the other X-Men movies was poor too or maybe more hinted at as a giant waste of an opportunity
