Love The Beatles so much. My ex got me into them when I was a senior in high school, and they are my favorite band now. All of their albums are very good, and they only have a handful of songs I honestly don't like.

I will admit that their early work is lame but it was popular at the time. Rubber Soul and beyond is incredible.

From 1965-1969: Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Peppers, White Album, Let it Be and Abbey Road. (also can include Yellow Submarine and Magical Mystery tour albums if you'd like). This period was mind blowing - the volume and quality of the work in a 4 year span. Really can't deny them as the best band ever imo.

Magical Mystery Tour, song for song, might be the best album of theirs, and since it was released as an LP here and a double EP in England, it's rarely mentioned.

Magical Mystery Tour - very good song
    The Fool on the Hill
    Flying
    Blue Jay Way
    Your Mother Should Know
I Am the Walrus - great song
    Hello, Goodbye - great song
Strawberry Fields Forever - great song
    Penny Lane - great song
Baby, You're a Rich Man - very good song
All You Need Is Love - great song

7/11 of the songs on it are really good songs, and All You Need is Love, Strawberry Fields, and Walrus are often mentioned as the bands best songs ever.

Yep. I'm a fan of both Magical Mystery tour and Yellow Submarine. Hey Bulldog on the Yellow Submarine album is one my favorite Lennon songs....the McCartney bassline is sick.

It’s astonishing to me that everything from rubber soul onward was written in their 20s. Can’t imagine doing something like that at that age

Music is like that a lot of times. I'm more blown away when someone has a fantastic novel in their early 20s because that seems like something you need more life experience for

Classic albums like this one, I look at almost like a book. You aren't going to throw out a chapter you don't enjoy as much because you don't think it was as good as the others. It's still part of the story. Wild Honey Pie isn't one of my favorite songs on the album, but it's still part of the story according to the ones who wrote it.

That doesn't answer my question. Art has always been open to criticism and intetptetation. What does that specific part of the story say to you? How does it add to the album as a whole?

Also, just fyi, I pretty much exclusively listen to albums start to finish and have quite a large collection. You don't need to explain to me how they work.
