Sign up for Hyatt CC. They match to the 2nd tier of MLife (pearl? Silver? I have no idea). At that level I mainly play $10 craps and $10 BJ and some $.25 Video Poker and my wife does some small slot play. We usually get rolling comp offers at the casinos we play at most (NYNY and MGM Grand) every 6 months but lots of time we get 3 night offers from all MLife hotels. We try to go once (maybe twice...cheap from Portland) a year to ensure the comps keep rolling in.
And we almost always get $50 or $100 in both FreePlay and F&B credit. We are far from high rollers and we typically break about even or leave slightly up including food and bevs.
if you sign up for the hyatt card visit the credit card thread for a referral or uhh just pm me wanted to do march madness this year but didn't get it planned before other shit got in the way
Also on this note, with the Hyatt card you get a free night at a category 1-4 hotel every year and Park MGM is cat 4. Not the best use of that free night, but it's another option
2nd tier is Pearl. Other benefits of Pearl and above: 1) go to the front of the line at MGM resorts buffets. 2) free parking at MGM resorts.
My god at the snapchats from this weekend from AVN. I couldn’t make it but one of my business partners is out there and it’s just ridiculous.
Anyone eaten at Camelot Steakhouse at Excalibur? Is it worth eating at with $100 off if you spend $200?
Yeah I’ve never set foot in Excalibur but I would say probably don’t do that But at the same time, people have said that circus circus has a good steakhouse. So who knows
The Camelot Steakhouse deal is a very good one. Go for it. And, yes, the Circus Circus Steakhouse is terrific. One of the things we did at MGM while I was there was to standardize and centralize the cuts and supplier. It was crazy when I got there. Every Chef had his/her preferred cuts and supplier. A single restaurant would have several different meat suppliers. I’m pretty sure most Chefs were getting under the table kickbacks from their suppliers. To the company it was a very costly business model. By standardizing and centralizing steaks and most other products we saved the company millions annually. That’s one reason steak meal prices haven’t haven’t gone up significantly for guests. The MGM Executive Chef is a stickler for quality raw materials. He absolutely will not compromise quality.
A prime steak from circus circus, Excalibur , etc is the same as a prime steak from aria or bellagio. Nice!
As a raw product yes. However many restaurants dry age their steaks while others do not. And the ageing times vary. Spice profiles will also differ. The cooking method differs too. Some restaurants have wood fired broilers, some do not. There can be other differences too.
Feel like I’m the only person that doesn’t care about steak when I’m in Vegas. Takes too much room up in my tummy
I feel like there are so many better options in that city than getting a steak from a cookie cutter steakhouse.
Same here. I can always get an amazing steak at home in Atlanta. Beauty and Essex, Picasso, lago, jukian Serrano, Giada, etc etc are way more interesting.
I will bet that most posters here feel like you do. Steak restaurants are a safe choice when it’s a fairly large group. I rarely had steak when I lived there. The city has almost every cuisine imaginable. All of which are perfectly executed and which you cannot get in many cites.
I retired last March (I’m an old dude). I came back to Utah to make improvements to my property in order to put it on the market in another year or so. I plan to move back to Vegas. I enjoyed living there.
I actually like Northern Utah from mid-Spring through mid -Autumn. But every year I despise the cold and snow more than in the previous year.
Probably 5 years ago by now. I Spiegelworld left, and apparently come back, but we went there when they were on their original run. It was before I had kids when I still had money to spend on nonsense like trips to Las Vegas
The Executive Chef at Rose.Rabbit.Lie at the time later became the Executive Chef at Aria. He’s now the EC at Bellagio. At the time it was one of the “must” places to go in Vegas. Glad you got to do it.
I went there one time and one time only because the service was the worst that I have ever experienced in Vegas. I wrote a blistering review on TripAdvisor. It’s a popular place, but I don’t know why.
anyone gone to the opium show at cosmo? i heard it was disappointing initially but they've made tweaks to the show. big fan of absinthe at caesars so i'm hoping they could right the ship
after being there super bowl weekend (not for the actual super bowl, but to see lady gaga) i have no desire to ever go for march madness. the lines and table limits were insane.
