Official statement on Aaron Pico: I stand by everything I've said. Just will take more time than I anticipated. The kid will be a champion, just needs some refining.
For some reason every over hyped mma fighter is... exactly that... over hyped. Doesn’t help that Schaub constantly calls him “our Michael Jordan” considering Michael Jordan wasn’t even “Michael Jordan” until he was making veterans, stars and everyone in between look foolish on the court. Tbh Jon Jones is much closer to our Michael Jordan albeit a much more fucked up track record. He had the biggest sponsors in MMA (Nike and Gatorade) and put on some of the greatest performances weve ever seen through creativity, and/or toughness and/or simply being the best fighter.
LAS VEGAS -- The Nevada State Athletic Commission voted unanimously on Tuesday to suspend UFC stars Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor for their respective roles in a postfight melee at UFC 229 in October. The commission suspended Nurmagomedov (27-0) for nine months and fined him $500,000 of a disclosed $2 million purse. The suspension is dated retroactively to Oct. 6, the date of UFC 229, meaning he is eligible to return on July 6. Additionally, the NSAC offered to reduce the suspension to as little as six months if Nurmagomedov participates in a local anti-bullying campaign. McGregor (21-4) received a six-month suspension and was fined $50,000. He will be eligible to return to competition as soon as April 6. "I don't think it's fair," Ali Abdelaziz, Nurmagomedov's manager, said of the fines. "Khabib gets $500K and Conor gets $50K? I think it's bulls---." http://www.espn.com/mma/story/_/id/...bib-nurmagomedov-conor-mcgregor-ufc-229-brawl
He jumped on the cage and then was attacked by someone iirc. So the $50K amount sounds like too much.
No. Connor jumped on the cage, and was held back by someone, then one of Khabib's guys jumped on the cage to go out after Khabib. Connor then threw a punch at that dude while they were both on the cage. After they both got off the cage, Connor was attacked.
TJ was on Rogan and pretty upset about the stoppage. Said he was all there but the punch behind the ear throws off equilibrium and lost his feet. Blames the ref for being inexperienced and amped up for a big fight.
Yea I was listening, but Rogan and TJ are buddies. And I think it’s because it was champ vs champ. If it’s not, everyone agrees with the ref
I mean TJ has to say/believe that regardless right? I do believe he put in a tremendous amount of work to get to 125 and can see how disappointed he'd be that it was all for essentially nothing. Garbrandt talking shit saying he predicted TJ would get knocked out was some petty bullshit, not surprising though I guess.
Garbrandt is a total chode. But yea of course TJ does... TJ said he felt better this fight than ever before. Said the cut was rough but he was 149 on fight night. He also said that’s bigger than he was for the last Cody fight.
it def grazed. i mean, fight should been called right when dude downward starched face first into the mat, but imagine if the kick really connected, holy fuck
Definitely thought the main card started at 9 and showed up to my buddy's house as Aldo was fighting. Whoops.
Cormier calling Stipe entitled is not surprising. Stipe is one of the most likable men in the sport. And hopefully no eye pokes if they fight again.
