Anyone played Hades yet? I loved Bastion, have Transistor and Pyre queued up on Steam. Hades looks great too. Supergiant becoming one of my favorite studios.
Edit: Hah, guess what, RAM was in the B slots. Won't show any video output if it's not in the A slots. The Mobo user guide misled me to put them in the B slots.
So right. I did a few puzzles, thought "this isn't bad". Got to the end of sequence, next thought was "I don't know what to do with my hands". Moved on to something a little ways down the road, come to this house thing, now its "i don't even know where to fucking start!". This one is going to be played in small chunks.
SLI was really good 7-8 years ago, but now it often introduces more problems than not. I would suggest a 1060 or 1070. You can go to the subreddit hardware swap and often get a good deal from reputable sellers. If you’re not comfortable with that, then you could go new.
Anyone have a recommendation on a war/building/rts type game? I used to play red alert 2 and stronghold back in the day, and would love an updated version of games similar to those.
The Total War games are good. Supreme Commander and its sequel are great old-school RTS as well, cheap on Steam.
It’s embarrassing the number of hours I’ve played in the last week. Digging into the wiki and subreddit for blueprints.
Started playing EFT again after the most recent wipe and after burning myself out of PoE. For those thinking about buying it’s an amazing yet unparallelingly frustrating FPS that is still in Beta. The game is a looter and is high stakes because every game you enter with gear, you could lose if you die. And if you’re behind in terms of gear check, it’s even harder. Fights are super fun and rewarding though. Lots of PVP and PVE. Below is a great video of the game.
Speaking of PoE, don't want to give away my market loophole but why the hell are Level 20 skill gems <8 chaos orbs most of the time and Level 1 Q20 skill gems worth >15? Drop a gcp worth 1c and blamo, I have a near infinite source of chaos orbs. Still only on like t10 maps max so I've never even sniffed an exalt or anything, but I'm having a good time.
Haha yeah there’s a ton of market loopholes and they get more and more as the league goes on. Have you chased Elder yet? The difficulty in bosses ramps up a bunch once you get to T14/T15s. Shaper is also a really fun fight.
Wel it depends. So Elder and Shaper influenced maps have a small probability of dropping elder or shaper influenced items which have their own prefixes and suffixes, some much better than others. If you use an itemfilter, they’re identified above other items regardless of level or size. Some are valuable and others are vendor trash. Often people craft on them too so even if you get something with bad affixes you can always alt spam to regal or chaos spam to try and get something really good. As you chase elder across the maps for Zana’s questline it’s important to know that when they are adjacent and you finish a shaper map, elder takes it over. That’s how you eventually spawn red elder and eventually get the 4 shaper keys to spawn shaper. After that you chase elder to the center of the map and spawn Uber elder for the last fight of the game.
Ah I didn’t know the probability was that low, I felt like I’d gotten a shaper item every time I’d run a shaper map. Nothing valuable yet though but I’m hanging onto them.
You can always scour and transmute into augment into alteration until you hit something dope and then regal once you get some currency.
I have put in like 150 hours on Slay the Spire. Its not as fun anymore but man 150 hours is fucking amazing value for money. I know its not a new game, but Its very much worth the 20$ or how much it is.
I grabbed Foundation. If you like games like Banished then I highly recommend. It’s on the first alpha release so there are some bugs, but it has pulled me in.
It was supposed to be on steam. Then they decided to put it only on epic. People arent happy and i dont really understand why. Just buy from epic. Its the same thing.
As someone that plays on two separate PCs, cloud saves matter a lot to me. I use it often on Steam. I wasn't planning on getting Metro either way though, was just listing some stuff I saw on Reddit.
I got Volconiods and Deep Rock Galactic. Thinking about trying out that Wargroove but not sure if PC or switch
They've ruined just about every good title they’ve ever had. They made a garbage MOBA, D3 is a travesty, and WoW is recycled content with different textures. Overwatch is OK, but I don’t have any interest in it. They did this to themselves as soon as they valued maximizing profits over quality content. It’s a sad and pitiful time for that once proud company. There aren’t that many good gaming companies left sadly.
BfA killed any interest I had remaining in WoW. Overwatch is fun. Blizzard is certainly a shell of what it was. Hell yeah to mobile games and reskinned Warcraft 3.
I wish HoTS was more like League. I played it for a few weeks, and it feels so clunky compared to the movement in league. The faster gameplay/level-up system is very nice though. Don't ever get that one guy who was fed and steamrolls a game. OW is one of my favorite current games. Don't play ranked much, but arcade/deathmatch is good for killing an hour here or there. I think WoW is trash, but maybe it used to be good like 10 years ago? Never got into it. So grindy. Diablo 3 was fun to play through the campaign. My buddy and I used to do those rift challenges? Those were fun for a few weeks.
OW is in a weird spot where team-play is required too much, and FPS mechanics are downplayed. Makes for the worst solo queue of any game and doesn't appeal much to FPS players. But that's just my thoughts on the actual gameplay, it's the one game where Blizzard has done pretty well supporting the game, which I guess is a necessity with the huge investment into OWL. I wish they supported a game with core mechanics closer to Apex, like if they just removed ults completely from OW it could be really good. Also they badly need role queues.
Yeah OW did not pique my interest in the least bit. It’s not as good as TF2 in terms of role based team based gameplay. Any game based on and built around “Ults” that’s not a MOBA misses the mark. Destiny 2 was really bad about that in PVP too and one of the big turn offs for me in that experience. OWL is cool I guess but it’s not riveting or even that interesting to watch. Dota 2 and CSGO continue to be the best eSports to watch in competitive play with card based games, fighting games, and a few RTS games somewhat distantly behind them.
