Didn't say Becky vs Asuka. Was saying when Becky lost the title to Alexa. People on here acting like Becky has been the greatest thing since she came up couldn't give a shit about her when Bliss was holding the title and you were all falling all over yourselves saying how Alexa was the best female on the roster. Becky is awesome and she's always been awesome but WWE basically gave her the Bayley story line but on the main roster and she has made it work. WWE has tricked you into thinking everyone loved Becky all along.
I don't think anyone was falling all over themselves. This shit so cyclical. At that time Alexa was without a doubt the best promo in the wwe. There was good reason and timing to give her the belt. I doubt anyone ever said she was more than average in the ring.
And this is fair, my gripe is with people acting like it wouldn't make sense or that it'd somehow take away from Becky's moment My take is that if you want the best you can get from an historic main event, you throw Charlotte in, I'm pumped either way though.
Ideally they put Charlotte in and it's an elimination match, not a straight triple threat. The worst thing that would happen would be Ronda not being involved in the pin one way or another (either winning or losing). That payoff should happen at this point and not just an ending with Char/Becky.
This is probably the best case scenario because I agree if Ronda doesn't take the fall, then what does it prove? If its some weird ending where Charlotte hits Becky with a chair that allows Ronda to win or something stupid like that, it takes away from the moment.
Make no mistake, we all are gonna riot if Becky doesn’t win the title clean over Ronda at Wrestlemania, regardless if it’s 1 on 1 or a triple threat. Preferably using Ronda’s own finishing move to beat her.
tbh I'd probably be on this train too if it weren't the main event at Wrestlemania. I imagine the ladies won't get too many of these, and there will only be one first, maximize the opportunity imo.
I bet Ronda wins at Wrestlemania for a few reasons. #1 she's the female Brock. If she loses clean then what do you do with her? Her entire appeal is that she's an unbeatable bad ass. If she loses clean, she's just another wrestler that can't talk. #2 Wrestlemania caters do the casual fan. If Ronda Rousey wins at WM in the first ever female main event, its going to be all over sports center and the like. If she loses, no one will care.
Now that I think about it, the only way Ronda doesn't win is if she actually is leaving to go start a family and even then they might have her win just to get the main stream media attention.
This is pretty much how I feel. I'm ok with Charlotte being added, but I find the 1 on 1 more compelling.
-Charlotte mocking Becky Lynch -Triple H punking out Charlotte Holy shit at the opening segment so far
judging by the lack of commentary following the opening segment, I'm guessing that's all I really need to watch tonight? love how they're handling this angle so far
Best part of the night outside Becky was the crowd cheering for Daniel Bryan and him rolling with it in his promo.
Guys for ffs... 1) nobody is going to give one fuck if Becky pins Charlotte and not Ronda. People want to see them in a match and they want to see Becky win. 2) not a bigger lock in world than becky winning at Mania. 3) Stop. Bitching. Start. Watching. They are building a great story and building Becky to be the biggest thing in the company. And you fucks keep fighting about the silliness. 4) does anyone talk about Daniel having to beat HHH and then having to have a triple threat? No. They remember him celebrating and winning. ———————————————————— Onto Smackdown... Fire opening with Trips and Becky. Charlotte when she talks over the person she’s cutting the promo against can be brutal and she did it tonight. Makes them all look small. Still great opening. Samoa fucking Joe... just give him the title. Give me Joe vs Bryan at Mania. That RKO... wow USO’s need to cut promos every week. And feature them like the best tag team in the world they are. Suck it young bucks Mandy Rose was well oiled this week... hey now. Bryan is awesome. Rowan fucking sucks... wish this was Harper in this enforcer role.
Kooky rumor going around that Orton is talking to AEW Prevailing wisdom seems to be that he’s just using them for leverage on Vince, in which case good on him Everyone should do it
Orton is a lifer. Vince will give him what he wants, which is a part time schedule with full time pay. Crazy that he's not even 40 yet. He's been in WWE since 2002.
He already works a pretty light schedule vs the rest of the roster. I personally don't hate Orton but his character development has been trash since the legend killer days. He's another guy that if he left WWE I wouldn't give one fuck.
There is zero debate that Roman is the Hulk Hogan to every 5-10 year old. That demo is what gets the parents to the arena for a show. So it makes sense when the two biggest stars WWE has in the last 15 years are now gone that attendance will suffer. With that said after finding out Roman real life struggle I’m not in the business of shitting on him anymore. Just hope they attempt to have compelling storylines and decent promos as he is champion for the next ten years
If Roman beats cancer and comes back he will be their biggest star. How long that lasts will depend on how they book him. If they go back to super Roman and he is shoehorned as the centerpiece of every story it won’t last long. If they just let him be him it will work out for everyone. If he comes back, people will want to like him, Vince just has to stay out of the way
Honestly, if Roman came back at Wrestlemania to congratulate Seth Rollins for defeating Lesnar; while immediately turning heel and attacking Rollins, I’d cheer like crazy.
We would come full circle if Roman came down at the end of the match, helped Seth win and we close Mania with those two celebrating. But who knows what Roman can and can’t do and when he returns
It’s fucked up to say but for all the years that Vince tried everything to do to get Roman over it took 1 night where he came out as himself to say he has cancer to do it
Last picture I saw of Roman he looked good. I'm sure he'll be out most, if not all year. Book it for Mania 2020. Hopefully Brock won't be the champion then.
watching halftime heat and now hbk drops an "elite" to describe the 6 men in the ring, definitely seems like a concerted effort to start using that term
