Gonna need St. Louis and Chicago to keep winning. Colorado and Minnesota had this shit wrapped up, but have been really inconsistent. Colorado I feel is still going to go on a run imo.
Idk if there’s some hockey players thread I should dig up, but anyway, I started skating last June and playing hockey last October. Been playing in a developmental league ever since, and got my first hat trick tonight (I never score, so this was incredible). Really glad I finally decided last summer to hit the ice after watching hockey for so many years.
Do you enjoy watching the games more now that you are playing? It seems to me that playing gives you a greater appreciation for how good these guys are.
Oh absolutely. There's a 16-year-old who plays in this otherwise all-adult league who is easily the best player out there; he can score whenever he wants. He played on some relatively unknown midget team last year and was like their 6th-highest scorer or so. Mind you, this is the southern U.S., so I often wonder how amazing those average kids who grow up north of the border are compared to us. We've even had a few Swedish players drop-in (semi-local college kids) and they can take the game over whenever they feel like it.
This dude http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=43828 played 5-6 games with us last year....we are undefeated when he is playing with us. It was just funny seeing guys try to take the puck away from him, nope not gonna happen. That guy is not average though, but the league I am playing in Is pretty competitive and Lehoux was easily the best player but he could not score 3-4 goals a game. He was dominant but not doing whatever he wanted. People here skate all the time, we grow up learning to skate. It’s different. If you are a little bit athletic you play hockey at a young age. And if you suck like me they put you in the net.
the panthers trading a 25 year old first line winger on a great contract would be such a panthers thing to do.
Very excited for the Blackhawks to get the 8 seed and get waxed in the first round. Much better than having the chance of landing a super star in the draft.
he’s actually left a ton of rebounds but they’ve done a good job tying up Flyers in front. he’s stopping everything though.
Absolutely, but he’s making saves high glove side, which is where he usually sucks. Flyers are playing very very well, gotta think this hot streak won’t end any time soon.
