Depends on who else is there. Personally, I wouldn’t draft the likes of Wilkins, Burns or Zach Allen over White, Murphy or Greedy.
Someone on that DL will be there. I’d be happy with Simmons, Wilkins, Jones, or Lawrence. Don’t see Oliver falling to us. Zero interest in Rashan Gary.
Tier 1 Bosa Williams J Allen Tier 2 Ferrell Oliver Gary Sweat Simmons Lawrence Tier 3 Polite Burns Wilkins Z Allen
Jamie Collins is probably going to be cut. He has a $11.75M cap hit this season and $13.75M cap hit next season. If we release him before the start of this season, we’d only owe him $2.5M in dead cap over the next two seasons. Saving around $22M over the next two years. He isn’t good enough to warrant the cash that would be owed to him.
If the draft fell this way, I’d probably rank the available guys: 1. Ferrell 2. Simmons 3. White Can’t go wrong with either of the three.
Me either. I wouldn’t complain about Simmons. I would have a hard time passing up White at 17...he could be our Luke Kuechly in Wilk’s system.
If we stay put in the draft order, it seems like it would be really hard to botch the 1st round pick.
I have some concerns about Ferrell holding up against the run. I've not watched as much Clemson as others here though.
Browns fans already freaking out about Chubb. Prreeeeeety sure they’re not going to just forget about the stud they spent a second on.
he still needs to serve whatever suspension is handed down, right? What's the feel on how long that will be? Could he be suspended an entire year?
Yes. He will probably miss 6-8 games next season IMO. But when he comes back...Cleveland may have the best RB duo in the NFL.
will his suspension include time served?? He could not play because he was on the commissioner's exempt list for what, 5 weeks? if he gets a 10 week suspension, do those 5 weeks count towards the suspension?
I certainly understand people who might feel this way. Then I remember the NFL lifts up a murderer like Ray Lewis and feel like "just win baby"
I don’t like Ray Lewis, either. One difference is there isn’t publicly available video of Ray Lewis murdering someone. The video of Hunt is sickening.
Very disappointed in the Browns. Between signing Hunt and the "Nuke all the gays" special teams coach, they've sent a message about who they are that's going to make it very hard for me to root for them.
Sickening? You serious? I never saw the primary reason for the outrage. I mean the Mixon video was 100 times worse. Now I think Hunt needed to be suspended and have some counseling, but he shoved a woman who was obviously intoxicated which he never should have done. He then had to be held back from getting in her face. Again, he never should have done that. Lastly he kicked at her. Totally understood he never should have done that either, but it wasn't a kick to inflict damage or injury in my mind. It was a "get the f out of here" type kick. I am failing to understand what was "sickening".
To me, what makes Hunt’s “different” (disgusting to talk about violence against women this way anyway, they are all awful) than Mixon or Ray Rice is that he had the time to cool off, had people holding him back, and still made the conscious decision to go back and kick her / try to get her some more. Mixon and Rice, while awful, could at least theoretically be considered a single lapse or judgment / terrible momentary decision where they snapped and hit them one time. Hunt was being held back by numerous individuals and there was (I believe) close to a minute between when he initially throws her down and when he kicks her head. It seemed to me that he clearly wanted to inflict a lot of pain on the woman. He tried very hard to do so even when those around him were urging him not to. It was bad to me that he didn’t have an “oh shit, that was stupid” moment after he initially put her on the ground and went back after her even when he was trying to be restrained by others. I don’t really care to argue though on if the video was sickening or not. It was to me. You asked me why so that is my answer. I won’t participate in a back and forth about it.
No need to have a back and forth. I just am confused about the "kick to the head" meant to inflict a lot of pain on the woman which you talk about. Maybe I am not aware of the full video or am missing something. Here are the screenshots of the only kick I was aware of. Spoiler As the screenshots show, he kicked her in the ass. If you watch the same video I watched, I struggle to grasp a professional football player was only able to kick with the velocity shown. I would have expected a much more powerful kick. I mean she barely moved in response to the "kick". I would assume if he were intending to hurt and inflict pain on the woman, I would assume he was capable of much worse. Maybe I am missing something.
And just to be clear, I’m not making excuses for his actions. Hitting a woman is wrong and disgusting.
