Looks like Javon essentially passed out in an Uber and then assaulted the ND security people that were trying to help him back to his dorm. Campus living baby! https://www.ndinsider.com/football/...cle_625a5de7-508c-5f71-9f1b-cfe4fb7edab1.html
Damn. Dude punched a chick. Oklahoma is probably full at receiver, but I'm sure someone in the portal would turn a blind eye.
Probably best for him and ND. IMO he would not have seen the field at ND, and we are in good standing with a lot of good OL
He was close to a 5 star then dropped like a rock when his junior film came out. He’s now a 3 star and not playing football his senior year because he’s too old. A lot of programs dropped him when his junior film was released.
from Loy In digging on this a lot more, reaching out to multiple coaches across the country, trying to get a better idea of this, I was told that Boston College and Northwestern were the two schools recruiting him the hardest. Yes, if he called Notre Dame up yesterday and wanted to commit, they would have accepted his commitment. They still see upside with him and promise and really enjoyed recruiting him. However, I'm told that nobody is concerned about his decision to play elsewhere and they were not pushing for him. Again, they would have taken him, but weren't treating him like a top of the board target. In the end, Pyne went where he was coveted most, which is what guys should want to do at this stage, and he made a great decision for his future. In the end, Loy is just being kind, ND dropped him
sorry that posting is going slowly these days fellas, i started a new job and it's kept me busy. It's my first company change of my career so a pretty big deal for the family and I
also, the big NT from colorado is committing to ND tomorrow...going to be a big pick up yes, that Pun was intended
Irish4everFeb 12, 2019 12:53pm I don't remember a time in Irish football except in the Brian Kelly era and mantra, "TRKOG" that we've had this many criminal incidence' s in our program. Anyone? Wonder who this is.
Holtz probably had just as many. But I would agree with the overall sentiment. Kelly’s grade for off-the-field concerns is not very high compared his predecessors. Probably not very high compared to competition either.
Whats baffling to me is that almost all the guys getting into trouble are offensive skill position guys
Holtz had dudes drunk driving into light poles and shit. His time was wild. That’s why we have this now lightening crackdown.
So the more or less complete list of guys who got into legit trouble during BKs era are: Tommy Rees Everett Golson Kevin Stepherson Michael Floyd William Mahone CJ Holmes Deon McIntosh Max Redfield Dex Williams Sure im missing a few but beyond the 5 who got suspended together Hardy, Moore, Russell Daniels & Williams I dont think its that much more
honestly, the position coaches have some responsibility there id say. They are closest to those guys, which is why i bring up the clustering at RB and WR
Don’t forget about Devin Butler and probably should add McKinly now. I thought it would look racist and was trying to steer away but token Tommy got in there.
This is a non-issue. There was also stuff in the past but there wasn't a 24-hour news cycle. I'm sure back with Holtz and before, players would run stairs when shit happened. Now there is more visibility with everything in the world, so of course, you are going to see it more.
This is absolutely true. Jesus we had tunnel fights in the 80’s -90’s we’d have six guys suspended for that now.
Jesus, I when I ran Coach's, I had players working as bouncers. I partied with players doing 8 balls at apartments, fighting and everything you can imagine. There were some shitty, shitty humans in the mid to late 90s. You just didn't know if you weren't there. I was.
I'm actually encouraged by the latest incident. Seems like NDSP was simply going to make sure his drunk ass got home safely and not make an incident out of it. That's exactly what I would hope NDSP would do in that situation - athlete or any student. All bets are off once you start hitting a cop though, and nothing I've read so far gives me any reason to be sympathetic to him (as opposed to Rees' situation). Although for full disclosure I might feel differently if the circumstances were not extremely convenient from a roster management perspective.
Apparently Stanford's S&C coach has been suspended without explanation by the Administration. Wonder if the rumors of PEDs are true. Maybe we will find out.
Is this the same guy that tried to fight Brian Kelly? I mean I hate him either way on account of his affiliation with David Shaw, but I'm just curious.
https://247sports.com/player/aidan-keanaaina-46053150/ Nice get- he's going to be top 175 when its all done assuming he does camps
We are going to go on a run of Aidens for the next few cycles. That name got super trendy in the early 2000's.
If any of you guys want to watch the undisputed best player in the world he's on NBCSports right now. McDavid also playing. Edit: wrong thread. Point still stands
