calibration games are only +/-75 mmr, I went 3-7 playing IO, ES, and position 5 clockwork to fuck around with. I won my first with Lion, so I decided to try as little as possible on the remaining.
Yeah, team fights matter a lot. My game last night I was supporting as Lion and basically after 12 minutes or so I basically just ran around and fought with my team the rest of the game. Way more enjoyable dota. Also strength heroes are definitely viable now instead of standard everyone pick an agility carry.
lol, Fear just ran this for JStorm in the quals and they won 32-3. (Though the game didn't make it long enough for the Aghs dream)
I've actually had really good, balanced games for the most part after calibration. Surprising. I think this was a really good balance patch too. A ton of heroes feel viable at every position.
Aside from a pudge in every game (which has seemingly been the case since pudge Arcana release a year ago), I feel like Meta is very balanced at this time. Plus ranking resetting Plus event Plus increased new players from Dota auto chess Plus open/competitive pro scene Dota is pretty much in the best scenario since about the time I first started playing, post EG TI win. Perfect time for a comeback BrickTamland
Sumail and rtz are too much alike to coexist on the same team. Fear at the 1 was the perfect compliment to Sumail at the 2 because he knew when to take fights and not get caught in space. Aui was the perfect p4 and Peter let uni do whatever he wanted to make plays. Their team now just doesn’t play well because 1-3 is just a mess. Crit and Fly have to carry.
This meta will not be good for EG until they can figure out how not to get absolutely outplayed from the 15-25 minute mark. Their mid game has been awful.
eh, people have been saying this since post TI5. They've got top 3 at TI together 2 more times since then and got 3rd at both Majors this year. Qualifiers are always fucky. VP loses to tier 2 CIS stacks sometimes and China quals are the same way. When you scrim against teams all the time the results go both ways a lot.
EG currently in 3rd place in DPC points by a long margin and barring a disband is going to auto qualify for TI, so i’ll Hold off on judging them too harshly. They each made like $600K in earnings last year so im not sure they can be labeled as doomed. Also friar Juggs research tells me Aui still has more earnings as a member of EG than RTZ lol ($1.6mil vs $1.5mil, but still funny).
everyone is running CK offlane now. Lifestealer couldn't even trade with him with the way his passive works now in the Secret/liquid game. I played against him as puck yesterday and was basically right clicking him the whole laning stage, (And puck hits pretty hard early on) and this was CK:
They ran a strat yesterday with visage and support sven where the birds get the warcry shields and completely ran over secret with it. Dirty.
Valve has a shit show on their hands with KuKu being banned from wesg too. Tried to tank the pr hit for China with TI9 on the docket there this year by claiming to be the ones who banned Kuku, and now him still banned from entering Chongqing for a non-valve/non-DPC event has caught them in a lie. On one hand I understand that they're a business and are going to do anything they can to make sure their big investment isn't fucked up, but still- damn those statements look bad on them now.
anyone around to play tonight? i'm going to reinstall for this weekend. liking the pro meta where games go 40 minutes and different strategies work.
I enjoy both. I have learned the best dota is played when I have everyone, including teammates, muted.
still got it https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/4433336301 https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/4433398953 (my first rampage included)
Like, I’ve never even played with Handcuffed but I am 43% certain he is a more gooder dotes player than me.
Ult redone, no longer Weave, it lowers Dazzles cooldowns everytime something is used/cast. Lowers all enemies armor passively whenever dazzle casts spells/uses items. I’d argue medallion is a little wasted now, but still useful.
i've enjoyed this patch for pro games. lots of close games. some end early, some go late. a fair amount of hero viability. both tourneys are producing fun games.
EG v VG UB Semis at Macau coming up. CCnC subbing for Sumail who is on vacation. Winner faces Liquid in UB Finals and gets at least Top 3.
Quinn is a solid player. He is a really good position 2 in a scene where he probably needs to play on an international team to find teammates of equal skill. He gets caught up in the wash when he plays with NA only.
lmao this hero looks broken as shit. All of his abilities are so good and his level 20 and 25 talents are ridiculous. 70% damage reduction from the front? Bristle is only 40 from the back. You're basically not going to be able to kill him without break. His Q is like if shackle shot also did a shitload of magic burst damage and his ulti is like if Arc Warden's bubble also trapped enemies in it and damaged them.
Heroes are usually fucking broken when they are first released then nerfed into the ground over time, exception Pangolier who was pretty trash on arrival. The lower win rates are because every single person plays them and has no idea what they are doing with them at first.
hero is def broken. at low levels, i'm not sure why it cant be a DK-style mid. it doesnt threaten the towers in the same way that a DK ult does but it doesnt take much tower damage either like a timber so he can just constantly pressure by level 5 or so. i think the pub stomp build will be hood into radiance/ac and you just stay tank damage and stay alive. the ult is incredible and the W does huge damage at high levels, too.
