I bet he votes GOP every time because of taxes. Just picture Chatch but minus the fame, talent, or charisma
hopefully Russilo has enough dignity not to spend hours defending a school he never went to on Twitter and message boards
Good read. One thing that i wish these oral histories had was pictures of the actors that are talking, and the characters name from the movie. I had no idea who was talking in any of the quotes.
Bill’s takes on players and coaches with poor records is so ridiculous. Him praising Antonio Brown for being on playoff teams while criticizing OBJ for being on bad teams is such a terrible take. And kudos to Kevin Clark for calling him on it. And of course Bill doesn’t acknowledge the absurd comment and changes the subject and starts talking about money.
which pod was this? Him praising Antonio Brown would be rich considering his current smear campaign towards Anthony Davis
Just released within the last couple of hours i think. It’s with Juliet Littman and Kevin Clark. Only 1/3 through it. Pretty sure they both agreed beforehand to try to get under Bill’s skin. Clark even brought up Aaron Hernandez which always makes BS defensive. You can always tell how agitated Bill is by how many times he brings up the Pats titles, which he’s done quite often so far in this pod.
It was a very spicy segment. Antonio Brown would be "the perfect patriot " and Odell is a cancer and a loser
god i am triggered. this odell narrative is ridiculous and it drives me insane. fuck simmons for perpetuating it
Which ones that Kevin said do you disagree with? I can’t recall well enough. Just remember him saying Odell rants are usually because he just wants to win. I’m sort of all Ringered out for a bit. Finding it difficult to listen to anyone’s full pod lately.
i waste my time on a lot of dumb shit but hearing simmons speak out of his ass on a podcast certainly won't be one of them. odell doesnt even go on any ridiculous rants. his teammates universally praise him and his work ethic is unquestioned (in addition to his obvious natural gifts). the idea that he is a locker room cancer or the reason for the giants struggles and thus we should trade him is batshit insane but the media loves perpetuating it damn near 24/7 in the offseason because they love the clicks.
Mallory's voice makes her unlistenable to me. I am glad though he has staffers who aren't afraid to call him out. Good for him and the content they provide.
should also add his riff on Kraft being an insane person acting like he's 30 with huge gold jewelry and staying out all night at all-star was prescient
This was incredible. Listened to the podcast today after all the news broke and it was nuts to hear it with all the news of the day.
Bill treated this Kraft situation with more remorse than the entire Aaron Hernandez saga. If this was Jerry Jones or Irsay he would've spent an entire pod making hacky jokes, but since it's Kraft he takes the cop-out "its too serious to joke about" route.
Lots of LeBron coverage on the ringer but where has all the 67 win celts coverage gone? Russillo gets it.
I'm happy for them to pick a movie from this century, but, really? That's the Apatow movie they pick?
I’m ok with it. I doubt they pick 40 Year Old Virgin or Superbad due to the all gay jokes. They’ve mentioned on other podcasts how that hasn’t aged well in their eyes.
forgetting sarah marshall is probably the best apatow movie tbh if we're including "produced by" ones actually walk hard is the best, never mind
I agree on Proof of Life...only thing I really remember was the whole Ryan/Crowe affair thing Dave is good and I'll watch it if it's on but I wouldn't classify it as a RWable Reality Bites haven't finished the epi yet but I did like the first 1/2 hour where they kinda dissected the whole Gen X thing of the early 90s and selling out. I watched it again for the first time a couple weeks ago and remember thinking the same thing after I saw it the first time back in 94 when I was 20...this movie is just a cliche of Gen-X stereotypes amalgamated into 4-5 characters and while they tried hard, they didn't come close to nailing it and its seems fake as fuck.
My god I can’t imagine watching Proof of Life or Reality Bites again. I will say Dave is one of those sneaky movies I watch like once a year on a Saturday morning (non football season) when it’s on one of the movie channels.
Hot Take: Not a big fan of FSM. Saw it in its entirety once and have caught parts of several times. Too cringy/awkward for me
