A high end sports bar just opened called The Ainsworth. Not sure of its vibe late night, but (with 0 data backing this up) I don’t think Nashville could viably have 2 similar concepts. But I’m also not in tuned with these new basic ass IG influencer wanna be’s so tifwiw
Tried to go to ainsworth last weekend to get a table... place was empty... was turned away because we didn't have a reservation. They can get fucked.
I'm just a cheap poor, but high end and sports bar dont fit together in my limited vocabulary. Id be lying if I said I didn't miss walking out of Jonny's after 4 hours with a $18.50 tab with food.
Gold dusted wings 8 for 35 16 for 70 50 for 1000 with gold Champagne. WTF I'm triggered looking at their gallery and two of their TVs are turned off.
Please for the love of God no more upscale, boujie places. We can always use another sports bar if you ask me, but a true sports bar. Not some place that puts nine million things on their burgers and serves $20 cocktails. That's all nashville has anymore it seems.
This is more along the lines of what I was thinking for Nashville: https://www.bottledblondeaz.com/dallas/ But then at night it gets more clubby on the weekends like this:
They murder it in Dallas and Scottsdale - I feel like Nashville is at least somewhat analogous and doesn't have anything like it but haven't really gotten too far into the process yet.
Yea the video probably isn't summarizing it well for one part. But basically I have someone willing to fund pretty much any project I want to do out there so want to try to figure out what is going to make the most money and what is missing in that market.
Nashville mls logo announcement today Hopefully the leaked photo isn’t real / the amount of negative reactions make them change it
I'm sure something like that will make money do to the tourists and bachelor/bachelorette party crowd. Just not something that most locals would probably support. Bring back a paradise park type and you'd probably get the support of locals and tourists. There may be another upscale sports bar coming already. Whatever that assclown Clay Travis and his group have turned Paradise Park into is something called the downtown athletic club. Can't see it being an actual athletic club on Broadway.
Yeah, as mentioned, there are two types of opposing crowds to which incoming business has to decide to cater: locals & tourists. The former want great unique food/artisanal restaurants, chill dive bars, good sports bars (but not 1,000 tv monolithic ones), and a reimagining of the old things and spirit that are being crushed under the wheel of New Nashville. The latter wants New Nashville (what they think Nashville is and have made manifest) : vapid clubs, hip hop honky tonks with a marquee name, boujie restaurants and hipster bars with copy and paste aesthetics, etc. There’s some cross pollination there and I think a happy medium somewhere when things feel authentic and not superfluous. But it’s hard to find.
I don't hate the Ainsworth but I'm not gonna frequent the place. It's an NYC chain so that's why they have those crazy offers etc. PMT went there a couple weekends back. I believe they are offering free well drinks to women from like 8-9 on weekend nights. Could be wrong. Think a buddy went there on a date night a couple weeks back and said that.
Mrs. Titties is very happy right now because of that. Bullshit reason or not, it's a day off for her and that's reason enough for me to drink, watch the Preds, and celebrate an early weekend.
Remember us talking about 2003. We had a rain day that year come to think of it. I know the Elk River in Fayetteville is flooded like hell right. My dad same they had to let Tim's Ford fill up this week.
It all comes down to if this team can click in April-May-June. We saw it at the first of the year. Can Stella get her groove back? What does Poile do this weekend? Does he gamble or reach because he knows his window is closing too? The West is deep. Everyone would have laughed a month ago at saying StL and Chi were in playoff contention, yet here we are.
It’s opening day for long-delayed Twilight Tavern, bringing West Nashville a new laid-back option for pub food, craft beers, and spirits. Twilight (5303 Charlotte Avenue), which slides into the space formerly occupied by Bajo Sexto Taco Lounge, is scheduled to start pouring at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 22. Along with 32 beers on draft, Twilight boasts a full bar. A specialty cocktail menu is in the works, a bartender tells Eater. The dive bar comes from Hardy Ross, the co-owner of the longstanding Broadway Brewhouse bars, who owns the property with his wife Elisabeth. The no-frills opening lineup includes sandwiches, appetizers (wings), and salads starting at $6.99, a bartender tells Eater. Ed Arace, the head chef at the multiple Brewhouses, lent a hand in creating the accessible menu. https://nashville.eater.com/2019/2/...twilight-tavern-nashville-restaurant-openings
So we've already set the record for rain in Feb with more expected tonight and I think some more starting Tues or Wed next week.
REPORT: Preds get Mikael Granlund from Minnesota, Wayne Simmonds from Philadelphia General Manager David Poile has acquired Mikael Granlund from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for Kevin Fiala and Wayne Simmonds from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for Ryan Hartman and a fourth round pick in 2020 (if Nashville gets past the first round of these playoffs, the pick flips to a third rounder in the same year).
Saw a billboard this morning "DONT MISS SPRING BLAKE" at Ole Red starting March 11 Blake, buddy, I will be missing Spring Blake. Thanks, Wayne
Haha! The chads and brads of the world are about to throw down. The older I get... I have a serious love/hate relationship with my city.
