I did the first 15 minute Climb today that is part of the Climb program. Pretty much destroyed me. You guys with 200+ output is super impressive. 135 for a 20 minute ride is my best PR right now.
Day 3 of 30: Complete - 30 minute Robin hip hop class and a new 30-minute PR of 426. Would have been higher, but the goddamn feed crapped out and by the time it reloaded, I lost about 30 seconds of ride data. Also, just wanted to thank you guys. The reason I wanted you guys to join this challenge was to keep me accountable. I had a shitty day today where I got up early to work, drove an hour to sit in a hospital waiting room all day, drove back 90 minutes in traffic, immediately took Mini Boom to baseball practice, rangled 11 7-year-olds who don’t know shit about baseball, ate dinner and worked another 90 minutes. The last thing I wanted to do was ride this fucking bike, but I knew you guys would give me shit if I didn’t. And for that, I’m thankful.
Just got back from Mexico so been inactive. Excited to work off the extra calories. Edit: Rode my bike thru Mexico but forgot my charger and the cloud doesnt sync south of the border. Lost so many miles.
Felt like I had the flu these past two days, but was determined to get on anyway. Turns out it's good to feel like hammered shit before rides as I set a 30m PR of 409 Tuesday and a 45m PR of 613 last night. Can't really explain it, especially the 45 because I legitimately thought I was going to start puking in the first minute. Then I suddenly got this wave of "fuck this" and set my output at 200+ and just let it rip. Never been more pumped on that bike, I was legitimately celebrating like I won a tour de france stage at the end.
Too much cardio can be bad too. That’s why you need to do strength and stretching/yoga workouts too. I fear that a month of solely cardio workouts might not be the best thing for everyone especially if people are trying to hit PRs every ride. Just my two cents.
someone give me the pros/cons of buying this bike vs a cheaper model and using the app...been using the Peloton at my gym but it would be far more convenient to be able to work out at home, but that 2 grand price tag is scaring me right now.
Biggest Con the money. Biggest pro is everything. I love everything about mine I constantly say it’s been my best health purchase so I don’t want to sound like a commercial. It was a convenience thing why I bought it THF has a peloton “hack” so he might be able to tell you want you’re missing. Why not download the app on your phone or tablet. Use it with a regular exercise bike at your gym and see what you think about the difference between the two. It’s hard to say hey don’t get a knock off if I don’t know how good the experience is. Honestly the only difference will be the quality of the bike.
I watched for used ones on craigslist and offerup before buying one and it sure seemed like they got sold within a day as long as the price was reasonable. The no interest financing is nice although I just paid outright for mine. I used the app at the gym for a few weeks and have since deleted all those rides because they had no other metrics than the time.
Have you guys been seeing streaming issues the last few days? I have never had problems before, but the last two days my rides have been cutting in and out.
Yes. Happens to me at least once a ride now. It freezes, then eventually goes back to the class selection screen where I can resume the class. It’s maddening.
I'm glad it's not just me. I'm not hardwired into the bike, but my wifi is pretty good and I'm on 100m/sec, so I figured it was something on their side, but I haven't seen any chatter of wider issues.
If any of you guys follow the Peloton Member Facebook page, it’s a pretty common complaint there. I have really fast internet that’s set up for business and have no issues anywhere but the bike. It’s really frustrating.
“Hi, my bike is being delivered on Tuesday and I’m looking for accountability partners! Follow me @SpinForRosé.”
It’s the same fucking questions asked over and over. Do I tip the delivery driver? Can you help me with a user name? I’m thinking about getting the bike. Should I do it? Which instructors dance and are more like Soulcycle? I’ve been riding for 5 minutes and haven’t lost any weight. What am I doing wrong???
How bad of an idea is it to get a Peloton for my wife for our Anniversary? She goes to spin at least once a week and has mentioned wanting one in the past. Just know that it is a weird gift to give a wife/girl.
Not at all. As long as you don't make it seem like you are sending her a get in shape message. Not sure on your exercise routine but I think just about anyone can work it into their weekly routine as a cardio option. There is a lot of additional benefits with the expanded yoga, stretching and strength training videos.
Thanks for the imput. She already gets up 3-4 times a week at 530 or so to go to a workout before work so i dont think i would be sending that message. She would probably be able to get more sleep since she could workout at home.
I wouldnt be able to get half the cardio in that I do right now without the bike. If she likes to work out in the mornings they have live classes that start at six and she will have like 2 years of on demand rides that are in the 1000s. I think she would love it.
Any way to verify how much she likes the real time group experience at spin class first? I hate people so it was a no-brainer for me. She may like spinning with the girls live.
She goes to SoulCycle every Saturday. I assume she would still go to that as a way to see some of her friends. She never goes during the week though, just to the gym during the week.
Day 4: 18 miles outdoor 30 min yoga Day 5: 45 min Emma ride 10 min cool down with AT. 20 min full body strength. I honestly don’t know if I will be able to ride every day for 30.
Yeah it’s taxing from a scheduling perspective. Add on that you’ve already done 1000 miles this year and that’s a lot on the body.
Day 6 of 30: Complete - 30 minute ride with Alex. My legs are tired but I’m no bitch like Daniel Ocean so I won’t stop.
I’m doing a 30 mile ride today. That’s a lot of shit talking from someone who hasn’t even hit 450 miles this year.
