I really hope Crean can add another couple of big time players in this class to go with Edwards and the other two
McGarity extended for one year. Guessing we groom a replacement in house and this is basically a transition year.
Morehead made a comment like ‘thanks for coming back for at least one more year,’ or something like that. I may be reading too much into it.
Tenneseee will be more of a threat going forward than Auburn Maybe he wants to play the tougher team later In the year when the team should be clicking
That’s some bitch made shit from Auburn. If it wasn’t for tradition, I’d honestly rather play them early before they start to catch fire.
Did we really not get 2 home games in a row out of this? McGarity was very vague about the discussion, so I wonder what in the hell was actually going on.
Didn’t we acquiesce when AU got home games in back to back years? I really don’t understand why that wasn’t the absolute floor of a return consideration.
Auburn knows the date of the game every year. They schedule Umass in that date and then act like children about needing to move our game. Definition of bitch made
After a brutal stretch of b-ball in which we lost almost every game by double digits, we’ve played a shitload better in our last two games. Would love to see this team start to make some progress to springboard into next season. We also have to get rid of those gray uniforms. Those are the worst unis in the country.
Holy shit. Not surprisingly, we lead the SEC in turnovers. However, the difference between us and second place is the same as the difference between 2nd and 13th place. I wonder what our record would be if we were middle of the pack.
Stuffed animal thrower was identified and banned from the Steg for the rest of the season. His ticket buying privileges have also been revoked for an unspecified period. UGA isn’t releasing his identity. I’m torn. On one hand, having the guy’s life fucked with because of a toy toss seems a bit extreme. On the other, 1) tough shit, 2) I’m not sure that he’d get anything that isn’t due to him, and 3) it might be a deterrent for future dipshittery if the guy became a cautionary tale. Probably right for UGA to not release it publicly, but I do wish somebody would ask that dipshit about it in print.
It's just a basketball game and he threw a stuffed animal. He doesn't deserve to have his life ruined over a mistake that hurt no one.
The refs didn’t have to issue a technical foul. And do we really give a shit it cost this team a game? I mean, come on. Its just the rest of this season, so I guess it’s fine.
Do you think people would ruin his life? I don’t think people care enough about a 1 win UGA basketball team.
I’ll fully admit that people throwing stuff onto the field/court significantly rustles my jims. It’s such a entitled irrational manbaby move.
Well have you seen me post during a football game? Lmao I’m worse than that and I throw shit around my house like a fucking dipshit irrational manbaby
Crean seems like the person that would get caught up in the moment and personally call the guy after the game just to bitch him out.
If you’re going to act like a dipshit, doing so in your house is probably the best location. Doing it in public would be bad.
Next year Hammonds and Claxton as Jr’s, Crump a Sr. The rest I don’t care about. Add in Edwards and the other two signees, maybe we can compete.
Baby steps, learning how to compete now and hopefully will start to learn how to finish. And not turn the fucking ball over at an epic rate
Is the fact that Crean likes to run vs Fox wanting to slow it down and get set the cause for all the turnovers? Because it seemed like most of the turnovers were when we were running and the players don’t really do it well. Ogbeide is worse this year than last. Idk how many turnovers he had yesterday, but there had to be a few and then his play around the rim was pretty atrocious all day. Just no real ball skills. There were flashes at times with some nice ball movement that led to wide open shots. I probably have no idea what I’m talking about fwiw
I think you have to do what you do. Crean isn't playing for this season - he's playing to show recruits how the fuck we are going to play from now on. We are going to get up and down. We are going to let guys play basketball within a framework that allows them to use their talents. No more Mark Fox slow-down "triangle" (a complete misnomer). That's how you recruit. Show kids how we are going to play and they will come. That's always been the case here. We just hired two coaches in a row whose styles were the antithesis of how kids want to play these days...and who had zero personality. We got the recruiting results we deserved. Kids will come as long as you show them an exciting brand of basketball and a level of commitment. Crean has done both. We are going to be really good soon enough.
Anybody know where we were in turnovers last year in the conference? Assuming we were much lower, but we could still potentially be close on turnovers per possession just because of how slow Fox had us play. Too bad college b-ball stats aren’t nearly as in depth as the NBA.
Man, if we don’t turn it around soon, we might miss the tournament. USA Today lists us as being “on life support”: https://www.usatoday.com/story/spor...ogy-bubble-watch-selection-sunday/2977328002/
Took this from the 247 board, but who leads the team in sacks this year? Most all of our edge players are still really young. Last year we didn’t rush the passer all that well. Herring Marshall Grant Anderson Cox Azeez Johnson Beal Nolan Q. Walker Tindall Dean Added a couple long shots for shits and giggles
Going back and forth between Anderson and Johnson. Guess I'm buying the Johnson hype although I should know better with a juco
I might’ve went with Tindall if Mel was still here. I bet he’s still up there in the top 3 or 4, but idk if it’ll be as many blitzes from that spot I think Anderson, Johnson, Herring, and Tindall will be top 4. I’ll go Anderson because I don’t know how much to fully buy into a JUCO guy, but Johnson looks the part
Yea I like Anderson the most. And I’m kind of thinking Brenton Cox... Threw Tindall in there bc he was showing nice timing last year on the few blitzes he got...
