I've always taken for granted living in a city with a major international airport. It would suck to have travel multiple hours to an airport, fly to a bigger one, and then fly to another continent.

That's most likely not going to work. One way segments are more expensive. You'll have to just take a few hours to get back to Milan from Rome

With a Delta/Air France flight from SLC to Milan there is a 1.5 hr stopover at Paris Charles De Gaulle. Is 1.5 hrs to short of a time to deal with Customs, etc...?

Older planes, but they’re fine. Economy was uncomfortable but they sell upgrades a few days before the flight at extremely reasonable prices- upgraded from standard economy to first class on the way back for $400

McCarron abuts Las Vegas Blvd and is right at The Strip. It’s only 5-10 or minutes to the MGM Grand, NYNY, Excalibur, Luxor, Mandalay Bay, Park MGM, Tropicana, Hooters, Hard Rock, Silver Sevens, and Ellis Island depending on the lights. It can be a long drive (time wise) from Downtown though. Salt Lake International is a 5-10 minute drive from downtown SLC.

Arkadin & Lyrtch thanks for your help today. Your assistance is an example of TMB at its best imo. Spent a bit more for upgrades, but the upgrades were still about half of typical. Going to spend 10/10-11/9 in Italy. Toward the end I plan to fly to Porto, Portugal for 3-4 days.

    Nice! Porto is great.

I didn’t do much research before I went and have no idea if it’s changed in the last 7-8 years but I enjoyed Taylor the most of the wineries in the city. It’s up the hill a bit from the riverfront.

If we’re looking at Fiji, is it recommended to go to New Zealand as well?

Headed to Mexico with the 4-month old in late March, and provided it isn’t a nightmare we’re contemplating a Fiji trip toward the end of the year.

Really depends on how much time you have. If you have 3 weeks I’d say yes. If 10-14 days then you could fill all of that with NZ

The AirBnb we booked in Rome (very close to Vatican City since we have a tour at 7:15 one morning) was not actually available so the host offered us another place closer to city centre that is $40/night more at the same price.

Gonna need to get up earlier for the walk to be on time but it’ll be nice for the rest of the trip

There's an all inclusive travel pass for the metro lines there that you might look into. There's a pretty good chance you'll want to take it to the Vatican instead of hiking there, plus it was pretty useful on some of the other days after we walked all day and wanted to get home/around easier in the evening.

Edit: Roma Pass. it also includes certain museum admissions, I know one was the Colosseum and we got to skip the general admission line
